Rotors are warped after less than a year, spirited street driving but nothing abusive.

Dissappointed.

If you can see your brembo rotors, definitely a good idea to get the centers painted. The centers and edges are orange with rust within 2 weeks. Purely a matter of asthetics. They work very well, although they take a while to warm up to their optimal temperature. My Del Sol stops incredibly fast once they ve warmed up, but when they re cold I ve got the stopping distance of an Accord.

Original CR-V brakes were horrible. They warped at about 5k miles without pushing them hard at all, so no way I was getting stock again. Tried this Brembo/Akebono combo and they are SO much better than stock. Better feel, better stopping power, perfectly quiet, no brake dust, and they are completely warp free after 5k miles. They just feel more substantial, and I m so happy with them I m even putting them on my 03 VW Corrado that I drive far more aggressively. Seem like a great value especially versus the stock garbage.

Only negative is the middle hub area does show a little rust, but it s not all that noticeable unless you re looking for it. If I had a luxury or sporty car where I was more concerned with appearance it might be a little more of an issue, but not with a CR-V and the brakes work so well I couldn t care less.

If you re looking for great brakes that just do the job well with no muss or fuss I d recommend these highly.

Rotors: Brembo Replacement Rotor

September 24, 2008

These rotors were fine when new. However, they rusted heavily very fast. They rusted so bad they actually had chunks missing. It was like it was a thin layer of metal pealing of the braking surface of the rotor. This made stopping really rough. It felt like heavily warped rotors but they were not really warped. This car sits all summer and it is our winter car. Since we live in Illinois, it sees heavy road salt in the winter. I also park it outside, but I do cover it when I store it in the summer. These rotors were only a year old. I know this is worst case scenario and I know parking outside and all the salt is likely to blame for this but the fact it was coming off in large flakes is concerning. I am switching to the ATE slotted rotors hoping they will do better.

I don''t expect alot out of the minivan but with the brembo drum/rotor combo with hawk pads stopping must be a planned event and panic stops don''t exist.

First of all, let me say that my rating is based on my satisfaction with the discs and brake pads both from tirerack, as compared to what was installed on my car beforehand.

Since putting the Brembo discs and GranSport 6 Pads, braking improved dramatically, and considering my discs were warped before, the current state of things is great. I can say, the pads are really great. Excellent stopping power, with the dust trade off which I am willing to live with.

I kind of wish I had gone with the Cryo-stop because of the no-rust coating, as the Brembo''s tend to look rusty after rain or washing your car, but they work just fine, so it s a waste to change them now.

Pads - Fantastic

Discs - a "no rust" coat would be great, but otherwise PRETTY DARN GOOD

The HPS pad with replacement Brembo rotor is a wonderful combination. The only complains I have is with the bed in process. It took a few hundred miles before the performance improved to the advertised level. The bed in time is definitely longer compared to the EBC greenstuff I have had on my car. However, this is while worth the wait. The brake force is linear, easy to predict, and relatively gentle on the rotors. There are no vibrations at legal speed or sign of fade from multiple stops.

OEM rotors and pads were replaced at 20k with Brembo Replacement Rotors and GM-AC/Delco ceramic pads. Brembo rotors have developed serious pulsation at 15k -- same as originals. Also, ugly rust on rotors demonstrates a lack of quality. Therefore, I''m very disappointed because I expected superior performance from Brembo. Must head to the shop to see what needs to be done. Can''t see why I would use Brembo''s again.

The GM-Delco ceramic pads have little brake dust and are performing very well.
