So far so good. Very smooth during hard braking excellent in wet weather (we have had enough)worth the money a much better package than stock. I went with the Bendix "blue" pads which was the right way to go, no dust no squeek no fade. I have spent more in the past on brakes but didn t get this kind of performance, good value.

I have recently installed front and rear brakes on my Ford F150 XLT 2WD for probably the fourth or fifth time. I chose to go with the Brembo Sport Drilled Rotors to dissipate the heat build up I was getting with other replacement rotors purchased previously from CarQuest. The old rotors always seemed to warp and give me that pulsating effect upon braking. Frankly, it was embarassing to drive with any passengers in the truck. Now with the new Brembo Sport Drilled Rotors coupled with the Hawk Perfromance LTS/SUV brake pads I can really feel the difference in how effortless it is for me to stop the truck. I hear virtually no noise whatsoever and have seen no signs of brake dust as of yet. I am extremely happy with this purchase and if not for a lack of money before, I would have bought this combination years ago. I have had nothing but problems with the brakes on my truck since the day I bought the vehicle with 53 miles on it. Now with over 244,000 on my truck, which is 85% highway mileage use, I can trust that I will have the stopping power I need and the longevity I deserve.

On the rear, I simply had the OEM drums turned down a bit and replaced the brake shoes with Duralast shoes purchased from AutoZone for $19.99 plus $7.99 for the hardware kit.

Impressed with the combo. Not a huge difference over stock but definitely a difference. Brembo customer service is great. Satisfied customer service not so much... Tire Rack customer service and shipping can not be beat. Not enough miles yet to rate long term performance but so far so good.

December 17, 2007

The I30/Maxima have a terrible problem with rotors. It s a combination of small rotors, heavy-ish car, and ceramic oem brake pad compounds. In 190,000 miles on this car I ve gone through several sets of brakes. In almost all cases I d install the new pads and rotors and within a few thousand miles the pedal would vibrate. After 10K-15K miles it would be practically unbearable. So last summer ( 06) I got fed up with it and came to tirerack to see what they offered. I selected the Brembo drilled rotors and their pads. It s now 12/07 and I just removed this Brembo combination so this review is based on my full experience with them.

They arrived quickly although the rotors were a bit pricey. They have a cadmium plating on them which is to prevent corrosion/rust and it adds a gold color to the rotors. Due to my style of wheels, it s difficult to see the rotors through the wheel so appearance is a moot point for me.

The installation went fine although I had to replace a caliper (not a big deal.) And I followed the bed-in procedure for the pads.

Here s what my experience was like. When I removed these pads last weekend all 4 were perfectly worn down to the minimum level. I ve never experienced that before. So that s a big plus.

The rotors were heavily worn as well and very wavy. Despite the wavy appearance of the rotors, there was no vibration at all even at the very end. BIG PLUS. Lends credence to the argument that pedal vibration is a result of pad deposits rather then warped rotors.

They made some noise but not the high pitched squeak so noise was fine. When You hit the brakes, they bit down hard. Another positive.

Negatives are they are extremely dusty. Clean the wheels and after two days of mild driving and you can already see the dust forming.

They have a short lifespan. About 15,000 miles.

Final thoughts: they re pricey, don t last long, but they work. I m trying some ATE pads and rotors now.

The rotors crack extremely easily. No fading issues. I''ve had the rotors glowing once and they didn''t warp but they had faded alittle. This was all after they started cracking though. Recommend slotted rotors instead.

I have been extremely happy with my Brembo Sport drilled rotors and Akebono ProACT pads set-up. The Silverado SS already came with high performance ceramic pads and Brembo rotors in order to stop all that weight and power. So I was happy to see that I was replacing the stock with equal or better components, but not at the dealer price. The big difference I noticed was with the drilled rotors I had less fade than with the stock rotors. I attribute this to the cross-drilling keeping the brakes cooler. Also, these Brembo drilled rotors have not rusted the way the Brembo replacement rotors have on my rear axle.

Even with my enjoyment of hard braking, these rotors lasted over 75,000 miles. That is twice as long as the original equipment rotors lasted, and more than twice as long as the first set of aftermarket "brake shop" rotors. These were slightly less quiet than OEM, but that was expected. Initial bite is good, not extreme, which is great for street driving. Braking much improved over stock rotors.
