Even though these are rated for a light event they will not hold up. After one even at Little Telladega Grand Prix these pads were crumbling apart. Had I continued to use them I would have put myself in serious danger. For those that are not familiar with Little Telladega it is a small motorcycle course that doesn t allow for high speed. It is a slight step above a autocross run with times at about a minute.

It could be that my pads were defective but because there is not warranty for "track" use Tire rack will not warranty them. Do not base your buying decision off of the descriptions tirerack has provided. These may be fine for a small autocross even and several of them.

The brake in instructions were confusing to me. I followed the instructions the way I understood them and generated so much heat that the pads caught on fire. I contacted Hawk and they informed me of what I did wrong. The pads made horrible noise so I shaved them down to remove glazed section of pad. Still made horrible noise, I then replaced the pads with another brand. The pads had wonderful stopping power but the noise from the brakes was far too annoying even at the track. I won t use these brake pads again.

I bought these to run my daily driver on track days only. I started bedding them in on the street for a few hundres miles. I will mention to people who are not heading to the track that they do make noise and they create a lot of dust. I don t care as track performance is all I care about for these. At Lime Rock, they performed pretty well. I m typically pretty easy on my equipment and LRP is fairly easy on brakes, but they did fine, and once finished bedding (about 2 laps) they were responsive and never went into fade. I pulled them out when I got home and they looked fine. Not a ton of wear and no visible problems. I did not get any fluid boiling, which I m happy about as I used some pretty low temp fluid (535F Motul) that I got for free just to have new fluid in the car for the track. I ve only had this car on the track one other time, with stock everything, so can t say that the car is tough on brakes at all. My racecar s broken, so this is my way to stay on the track at the moment. I like the pads. I ll probably get something more agressive in the rear next time to move some bias back there. I liked these better than Hawk Blue that I ve used on another car 10 years ago on the track.

Good compromise for street / track driven car. A little noisy (squeal) for the street, but rotor wear and low temperature performance is good. Good fade resistance at the track, they wear a little more than a full race pad but you can still get several hundred track miles out of them.

I had a civic SI with big brakes front and rear using HP+ and the pads were great! Lots of dust and a little squeel at low speed stops but, were great at track events and even daily driving after you got used to it. Now I have pretty much all the same stuff on my S2000 i.e. same size slotted rotors, hp+ pads, ss lines, and ATE super blue fluid. I have done a few track days and every one i have glazed all 4 rotors and pads. I turned the rotors and scuffed the pads and glazed them again. I got a new set of HP+ and they glazed again. I have had good experience and bad with these pads so I''m tempted to try another pad.

Excellent pads for track day use. No fade...and easy on the rotors. A little more dust and noise than stock. I ll continue to use these pads on my SVT Cobra.

Frozen rotors all round and HP+ pads all round. The stock rotors were toast (warped) after two track events, pads didnt last much longer after that.. Replaced both rotors and pads at the same time, I now have about 15k on both and I am very impressed overall:

The pads very rarely squeal, there is alot of dust, but thats to be expected in these type of pads.. The one issue I have noticed with the HP+ is that they seem very inconsistent at track speeds, making the car seem very twitchy under hard braking. Sometimes it feels as if one side heats up and grabs harder than the other, causing the car to pull slightly, then the other heats up and grabs, causing it to pull back straight. For that reason, they are not particularly confidence inspiring on the open track, but oddly enough, they are much better than I expected on the road, very progressive, quiet, and long wearing for race pads.

The rotors worked exactly as advertized though. They have been to three track events and 10+ autocrosses since install and remain dead straight, with no cracks! I will put these rotors on all of my cars from now on, and I would recommend them to anyone for a daily driver or a car that is tracked regularly.. theyre great.

The pads were installed in the front only for track days. Good pad for intermediate track day drivers. Initial bite is okay. I have not experienced fade. There is noticeable rotor wear and grooving. One front rotor had a deep groove in it. I am not sure what caused it but it appeared after a track session using the Hawk plus pads.

I ve run EBC, Porterfield and stock pads and usually get about 3-4 events per set (6 sessions per) at places like Roebling and VIR. The HP Plus pads are nearly as good as the Porterfields for overall stopping power but seem to be holding up a lot better and show less wear on the rotors. The WRX has been problematic on brakes and I think this is the best combination I ve run to date (about 40 weekends).
