I purchased this combination based on a calculated risk of how these two components would work well together on a 2007 Toyota Tundra CrewMax. I felt that the StopTech discs would be fantastic with the cryogenic treatment, which they are. They re insanely good! I m near midlife and tomorrow I intend to measure the discs width to see what wear they have experienced. There is a significant buildup of brake dust in the drilled ports that I have needed to blow out with the compressor. The brake feel through the pedal is excellent due in part to the Hawk pads, and they heat up quickly and only fade, well beyond where a normal driver would take a vehicle like this one. In my case they didn t dust the wheels very much even with a drilled, relatively hard disc and the mentioned build up in the ports. Last week the rear axle received the same treatment at the front. Therefore on followup I will have an opportunity to share how each axle worked with this set up. Looks good so far!

Hawk S/D pads are the best I ve ever encountered. They are a little noisy & dusty, but the stopping power is OMG! better than any others I ve tried. Highly recommended where stopping power is tatamount.

Rotors: Power Slot Power Alloy Cryo-Treated Rotor

July 28, 2011

The cryo treated Power Slot rotors are the best I have ever used. I installed them with Hawk SuperDuty pads and followed the manufacturers procedure to the letter. Replaced all brake hardware except calipers at the same time. Carefully cleaned all mating surfaces and lubed all pad/caliper contact points and slides. The result; these brakes are going to go about 80k miles, no warped rotors, average dusting compared to factory pads, and minimal noise. About every 3-5k miles I will get a loud grinding in the front for a half day or so, then it just goes away and is quiet for several more thousand miles. This vehicle is extremely modified and tows a 10,000 lb trailer, sees street duty (30k miles per year) and does moderate off-roading.

If this combination was available, I d put it on every vehicle I own. Well, maybe not the Porsche (ceramic breaks) or the M5, but I d put them on the rest.

Great brake pads and rotors. I will definitely buy them again. One down fall would be that for about the first 2,000 miles the pads are a bit noisy and give off A LOT of brake dust. But that will not stop me from buying them again. I use these on my 2009 Toyota Tundra Crew Max 4 x 2 and love the stopping power!

The Hawk HPS pads and Cryo-Stop rotors have been a very good cost effective up-date. THe stocks would grab and lock-up during autocrossing. The present set-up is very quiet on the street with much less drust than the stock set up. Brake feel and control are very good. No more lock ups street or autocrossing.

Finally a combination that stops a Suburban. Great stopping ability. There is little dust, and they last much longer than what was put on at the Goodyear shop. They are at times noisy, but I will take this any day in being able to stop safely. Great combination for a Suburban.

Used rig, pads had lining left and was unhappy with breaking performance. Tossed the OEM rotors for 4 ATE PRM Slotted and a set of Hawk Super Duty Pads. Big improvement. Light pedal pressure bring me to a halt, a heavy foot stops this thing like my BMW. I''ll update the review in a few months after I haul the trailer over the sierra s into Nevada.

LET ME SUM IT UP FOR YOU LIKE THIS. THEY REMOVE THE FEAR OF MT. EAGLE WITH 23,000 LBS ON A GOOSE NECK AND A LITTLE HALF TON GMC WITH A V6. I NO LONGER HAVE TO RUN 25 MPH AND PULL OVER EVERY MILE TO MILE AND A HALF TO COOL MY BRAKES AND USE THE E-BRAKE WHEN THE FRONTS FADE COMPLETELY OUT. I RUN THE SPEED LIMIT NOW AND HAVE MADE 7 TRIPS DOWN THE MOUNTIAN AN 2 OF THE TRIPS WERE IN THE RAIN, I FELT CONFIDENT AND SAFE BEHIND THE WHEEL. NOW YOU WILL HAVE TO WASH YOUR TRUCK EVERY TIME YOU TOUCH THE PEDDLE AND SOMETIMES IT SOUNDS LIKE 1000 FINGERNAILS ON A CHALKBOARD AN YOU MAY NEED TO REPLACE YOUR ROTERS A CUPPLE OF TIMES MORE THAN THE PADS-- BUT ROToRS ARE CHEAP FOR 07 HALF TON GMC!

This combination of Hawk super duty brake pads & Brembo slotted sport rotors is far superior to standard auto-store replacement and superior to the original stock brakes. The pedal effort is higher than stock, however lockup is much less likely as stopping is more controlled with this combination. (Note this truck is NOT equipped with anti-locks, my preference) These brakes work much better with my rear combination of Kevlar shoes with stock drums, and balances the braking effort better across all four wheels. Almost as good as having BMW brakes on a full size truck!

We live on a very hilly island. Round trip to town is about 15 miles, but it requires going over a 1000 foot hill in 4 miles (average grade of 10%). I''ve tried the stock products from FL based auto parts stores, and they do not last. The Hawks performed very well indeed, and though they outlasted and outperformed the other brands I tried, I had hoped that I could get a little more than 2,500 miles out of them. On the other hand, it is a steep hill to go over.

I installed these pads and rotors on my wife''s car in June of 2006 at 37500 miles. Last week it was neccesary to install new pads on the front and replace the rear pads and rotors for the second time due to rust. Being on a budget and considering the mileage of vehicle, I opted to to just clean front rotors and reinstall. Power Slot rotors were well within specs and have no issue with warpage! I do torque wheel fasteners to specs. as well as cleaning, detailing and painting calipers and carriers to prevent rust and corrosion. I am also a firm believer in using quality synthetic grease for the sliding pins and contact points and changed brake fluid with Valvoline synthetic DOT 4 fluid.

I have been in the industry for over 25 years and have NEVER seen a set of pads & rotors last as long as these! I would highly reccommend them for durability as long as you don''t mind the sound they make due to the slots and dust concerns were no worse than any other pad I''ve used.

I installed a set of SuperDuty pads on the front of my new to me RV. I had driven the orginal Ford pads for 1000 miles before installing the Hawk. I replaced the still good Ford pads becasue of the great results that I have had in the past with Hawk HP+ and LTS pads. Once the new pads were installed I wasn''t overly impressed with the performance of them. They were almost identical to the Ford pads. Still good performance, I can''t complain about that, but not really any improvement. I was expecting some more from the premium pad.

The vehicle is a 27 Class C RV with a normal operating weight of 11,000 pounds. The rear brakes are good and properly adjusted. Overall the Hawk pads are a good pad without much fade in the mountains, however the inital bite of the pad is average. I have driven alot of ambulances in the size and weight range and the OEM pads work as well as the Hawks.

I would use these pads again, however I wouldn''t us them as an upgrade again, just a replacement. And I''ll go drive my autocross Chevelle with the HP+ on all four corners to remember what serious stopping power is!

I like in particular the slow city speeds, because the brakes don t grab but I feel them working nicely, the truck STOPS when needed. PS; bedding the pads/rotors in is of utmost importance -- pass this on. Thanks Fred Zimmermann

As with the other F150 owner, stopping power was above that of my stock pads and rotors. Hawk HP pads create a incredible amount of dust which turn my chrome wheels black in 1 week. The brakes have been squealing the whole time and are chewing up my new slotted rotors. They suck, I am throwing them away and getting new ceramic pads with the same ATE rotors.

Tire Rack should STOP selling these pads and provide all of us 100% refund.

The Toyota T100 with the factory optional 31" tires have rotors that are just too small and warp out at about 20k miles. Using the Cryo power slots with the hawk superduty pads not only make no noise, but stop with half the pedal pressure. the rotors do make a knobby tire on the highway noise when pushed hard, as the instructions indicated, but it is not an annoying noise, based on the extreme improvement. Other cars I now drive don t stop with the little pedal pressure I use to stop the truck. I highly recommend this combination, and if you go for it you will love them. Also keep in mind the T100 has a recall on the steering cross shaft, so don t snooze on that either...Good luck and you will thank New Jersey Nick later after you buy these and break them in per the instructions with the rotors....

Replaced pads on my Suburban, but not the rotors, yet the pads had no problems seating correctly. Other than a little squeaking in cold/wet conditions for a few stops there were no problems with these pads. There is little dust on the front rims and the stopping power is significantly better than the stock pads the prior owner had used. These pads have performed VERY well in all conditions so far, especially during an extraordinarily heavy downpour on an Oregon freeway. I will not hesitate in buying these pads again or in recomending them to others for a simular weight vehicle. The Tire Rack had an excellent price, rapid delivery, and good support during, and after, the sale.

The right product, at the right price, from the right people...what more can you ask for?

very impressive brake pad, greatly improved stopping power of my truck with heavy loads in it . works especially well under hard breaking without fear of fading. will certainly buy again

This is the second set on this truck. These pads require "pad quiet" paint. Lube the pad slide points as shown in the service manual. If you don t Hawk pads will squeek. Stopping power is good. You will get dust on your rims but it washes off easily. They don t tear up the rotors. This is the second set on the same rotors.

Excellent brake pad. I use my explorer to tow, as well as constant stop and go in NYC. No fade, no warped rotors, dust was manageable. Two thumbs up.

September 26, 2006

I have driven my 1996 Toyota T-100 about 40,000 total now. I have determined the stock rotors are defective, perhaps due to the fact that I have the large tire option toyota offered, but they didn t upgrade the brakes. The rotors would warp every 20k like clockwork. With the power slots cryo, I don t have to paint them, as they have a 1950 s quality coating, and those hawk heavy duty towing pads really grab well in all conditions with very light dust compared to my old TRD pads, and very low noise. I will mention that the rotors do hum, as written in the instructions, but is is a sound that is not irritating. Kind of sounds light a knobby tire on the highway, but much more quiet. I also notice that the front feels heavier, like the rotors weigh more. Perhaps they have to keep from warping. Overall, I would tell you to buy this package. The pads are honestly super quiet with only an occasional 1 or 2 mild squeaks per week, depending on humidity. This truck is a nightmare 10 hour job for me to get the rotors off and do a complete job, you can probably do it faster, but not nicer. Good luck- New Jersey Nick

the vehicle is used to deliver newspapers. with stops in excess of 500 stops a day the pads are holding up quite well as compared to other national brands. I ve tried just about every brand out there, most only last about 2 weeks on average. the hawk brake pads i ve purchaced have been going on 4 weeks without any signs of wear!

Replaced EBC slotted rotors and Pro Ceramic pads with severe warping after only 5000 miles with the Hawk/Brembo combo. A little squealy until the cadmium coating wore off, but stopping distance is better, and absolutely no warpage after 2000 additional miles. We used Brembo/Hawk combos in Champcar on several of the teams I worked for with similar results. Simply awesome.

Very satisfied with combination...brakes are not touchy and initial application is like before change. However, with more than light pressure, the stopping is dramatically improved - like driving into deep water! No squeal, no dust, no drama, just much safer braking. Haven t had to do an emergency stop (and hope not to), but my tests on clear road (after break in period) gives me great confidence I m in very good shape.

I followed the break in procedures precisely.

Ordered the Hawk Super Duty, and they squeaked too much...(had no idea they would), customer service ordered me the Regular Duty at either half price or at cost (I forgot). I actually haven t had time to install those yet. The squeak is not as bad now, but it still present...did notice much more pedal pressure required.

Warped rotors are slowly starting to come back. Can feel slightly pulses under medium braking of rotor on pads. Common problem to early production year Tundra s, especially the heavier 4wd Limited s. No towing has been done since rotors were installed.

These brake pads deliver much improved initial braking response over the stock pads. They provide a smooth, high-torque brake feel, but do make noise now and then. If you can live with a little brake noise you will be happy with these pads. I feel more comfortable knowing I have a better braking safety factor and to me that far outweighs a little squeak now and then. For me, safety always comes first. I would definitely recommend these pads.

Brembo and Hawk is a far superior combination from the Dodge stock pads and rotors. The pulsating and the fade is gone. The stopping power is increased. Dust on the wheel is lowered. But the noise is a little louder, but it is a fair trade off for better stopping.

there is a noticable stopping power over stock but the noise was terrible especially when hot, really disruptive and drives me nuts. i ve tried everything to stop the noise(lubes, glues, cutting)but no luck. dust was a little excessive also. other than that they stop great. next time i would use ebc green stuff pads.
