This is my second set of these brakes - the first set lasted about 7 years, somewhere between 30,000 - 40,000 mi I think. These brakes have saved my life. I repeat, I would not be alive it were not for these brakes. They have saved me countless amounts of money on avoided accidents (I am an "aggressive driver"). The stock brake pads on my miata were nothing compared to these. I had stock pads for 30k mi before I got my first set of these HPS pads and I will never tolerate that garbage again. If you want to stop dead in the street you better hold on to your lunch, glasses, and keep your eyes in their sockets cuz things will go flying... I couldn''t believe that brakes at this price could be so good. Needless to say I will buy Hawk HPS for every car I own for the rest of my life as long as they make them for that car. On second thought I will only buy cars for which they make Hawk HPS pads.
Getting these brakes to fade even a little takes lots of effort - They should stand well in an autocross setting if that''s your thing but they can get smelly under heavy abuse. WATCH yourself during the break in period and break them in according to manufacturer''s instructions. They are terrible for the first 50 miles or so unless broken in in a brutal fashion.

Terribly overrated pads. I have the HPS matched with rotora''s drilled/slotted rotors for my Audi A4. After searching for pads that might offer an improvement over the stock pagid pad that come on Audis I settled on the HPS. These pads offer no initial bite and although they dust significantly less than stock, they scare me sometimes with how poorly they stop the car. They simply requires a lot of peddle force to stop, and after the stock pads which would stop on a dime I am terribly disappointed. I find they do improve as they get hotter but these aren''t race pads and shouldn''t have to be heated every time I need to go run an errand. Overall I feel these have been given an undeservedly good reputation and I would advice against buying them.

I bought these components because the stock brakes were inadequate for this vehicle. The dealer wouldn''t give me the information that I required to upgraded brake system of later model Tundras so I did a bit of research on the web to try and correct the warping rotor problem that I was experiencing. The Hawk HPS pads and Power Slot Cryo-Treated Rotors seem have done the job. After 45000 miles my brakes are still working good with no pulsating so I am a happy camper.

I haven''t driven that far on this setup yet, but this brakes are fantastic! The stopping power and noise/dust levels are better then expected. The rotors look great too!

I love these Hawk pads a little pricey but they rock. I use my car as a daily driver/ autocross events.Note I use new rotors+hawk pads+brake fluid flush a must for good results. Stopping distance has been reduced from 164ft@60mph to 133ft@60mph "G-Tech readings" Brake do wear faster than oem pads but have the added stopping power is amazing Great option instead of a big brake kit. I use pads on all my cars F150, Focus SVT, Rabbit GTI and Golf. A must buy if you want to stop on a dime. 5stars *****~!

For years I wanted The Hawks HPS Street as my "next" replacement pads but due to contemplating on getting rid of this car or not, I have finally decided to keep this vehicle due the mileage I have accumulated. As a car enthusiast and a MB Tech, I have more then a fair amount of knowledge on brakes. When my stock pads needed replacement, I bought F+R Rotora rotors and EBC Green pads. Performed the recommended bedding in procedure, the EBC proved to be a set of worthless pads, Brake fade after two 70 mph stops! As I understand they don t start working after the pads have been slightly warmed up, but the DON T work after they have warmed up. I had to get rid of them after 10k because I had total brake lost, Twice!!! SO, I was not going to spend $150 on brake pads again, I bought F+R pads from advance auto (WearEver Silvers) These were honestly the best pads you can buy, NO BUll! Great initial bite, Cold or Warm. NO BRAKE Fade after 3+ high speed stops. And they lasted ~70K. Impressive for $60 pads. Now my car has 120K and i know I will be running this car to the ground. After reading all the reviews from Tire Rack. I went ahead and place them thru Tire Rack, Great Service and Fast shipping!!! I put on new brembo rotors and these AWESOME HAWKS HPS Street pads. Following the bedding in procedure, and off I go. Took it gently for 2 weeks and I was anxious to test the pads out. What do you know, BRAKE FADE after ONE high speed stop, almost rear ended the car in front of me b/c I had no brakes. Since these are "High" performance Street pads, Its understanding that the braking power won t be there until they are slightly warm, but its not there in any temperature ie cold, warm, hot, etc. Its like the EBC Greens BUT Worst, In every case!!! Thought it was my rotors so luckily I kept the Wear Ever pads, and swap them out for test purpose. I Could not believe how good the Wear Ever pads were with the brembo rotors. I spent $171 for the hawk pads to find out they were junk.

I have 16" stock rims on my 04 Jetta and the brembo slotted rotors fit with a few mm to spare using a completely stock setup. Hawk HPS on all 4 corners and slotted rotors in the back to match, and it is just about the best setup you can get without changing major components.

Overall, I like them. They don''t stop fast w/o decent pressure (so they aren''t too grabby), but when decent pressure is applied, they do stop fast. I "love" the lack of brake dust. Since I only did the front, I sometimes wonder if the rear is doing more breaking now (that is to say, I wonder if I have shifted the ratio of braking force applied more to the back, given the different brake pads in the front and back). I wonder this because it seems like there is much more brake dust on the rear wheels (with the stock pads) than there used to be, but it is hard to gauge, since the front has VERY VERY little dust with these.
