I have 16" stock rims on my 04 Jetta and the brembo slotted rotors fit with a few mm to spare using a completely stock setup. Hawk HPS on all 4 corners and slotted rotors in the back to match, and it is just about the best setup you can get without changing major components.

Overall, I like them. They don''t stop fast w/o decent pressure (so they aren''t too grabby), but when decent pressure is applied, they do stop fast. I "love" the lack of brake dust. Since I only did the front, I sometimes wonder if the rear is doing more breaking now (that is to say, I wonder if I have shifted the ratio of braking force applied more to the back, given the different brake pads in the front and back). I wonder this because it seems like there is much more brake dust on the rear wheels (with the stock pads) than there used to be, but it is hard to gauge, since the front has VERY VERY little dust with these.

The Brake pads have always been an issue on this vehicle. The performance and feel of these is excellent. No dustier than any of the others I have had, including OE

My RX-7 has four-piston brakes up front, so it already has strong brakes, but the Hawk HPS/Brembo plain rotor combo makes it a stopping fiend. On the autocross course, I can brake very late into turns and experience little fade. I don''t notice much dust, but then again my wheels are very open! The pads are pretty civil for daily-driving and I can haul the car down very quickly from high speeds when panic-stopping without lockup. My only complaints are that the pads tend to start squealing after a while in heavy traffic and the initial bite could be improved a bit. Otherwise, these are great dual-duty pads.

Rotors: Brembo Replacement Rotor

Replaced factory brake parts w/Brembo replacement rotors and Hawk HPS pads. Initial bite when cold is slightly less than factory, but once warm, stopping power is much improved. Hawk pads seem we''ll made and include all necessary parts. Rotors look fine and matched to the car perfectly, however make sure you paint the hub before installation. After the first rain, the rotors hubs, and inside of my rims were covered in orange oxidation. All in all, good purchase.

Rotors: Power Slot Power Slot Rotor

October 08, 2009

I replaced the pads (Hawk) and rotors (PowerSlot) on my 04 Maxima, hoping to improve the overall braking response and feel. Unfortunately, this combination is a waste of good money. An extremely loud whirring noise when braking resounds throughout the cabin and the vibration transmits up through the steering assembly. I tried re-seating the pads, complete with anti-chatter lube. No change. I remounted the rotors as a precaution but again, no change. The rotors are not warped, but rather impossible to stop without the above-noted growling.

I recently purchased stock rotors and will replace the PowerSlots. You''ll never see me with another pair of these highly disappointing rotors.

Replaced my stock rotors and pads with the ATE slotted rotor and Hawk HPS pads. At first was a little apprehensive with the unusual elliptical design of the slots, but after several hundred miles, the rotors are quiet and with the Hawk Pads, there is much better fade resistance than the original stock setup. Dusting from the pads are almost non-existent, a huge advantage over the stock pads. I will definitely consider the ATE rotors and Hawk pads for my FX-35 when the time comes to change replace those.

Rotors: Cryo-Stop Rotor

September 15, 2009

These brake components were actually installed on my 2005 Subaru Baja Turbo, which shares the brake parts with the WRX. The Cryo-Stop rotors still look almost brand new, even after multiple track days. Not the slightest abnormal wear and you can still see the hatch markson the rotor surface. Not a single spot of rust on it, but CO is a very dry state. The Hawk HPS pads worked well enough for occasional track use, but the amount of dust has kept me very busy cleaning the wheels and seems excessive. The pads are also very noisy, even when at normal operating temperature. They tend to squeal at partial brake application, but are silent at moderate to hard braking. Overall a good combination that I would use again.
