The Power Slot Power Alloy rotors were purchased in combination with Hawk Performance Ceramic pads to address a wet braking issue (no initial grab when rotors get wet) that is common with the stock components on this car ( 04 Subaru WRX STi). The rotor/pad combination appears to have solved the problem, although it isn''t clear if the rotors or the pads were responsible for the improvement.

Front pads were slightly too thick. With new rotors, there was not enough clearance to install all of the shims. However, even with the outboard shims left off, there are no noise issues. Rear pads were fine.

For $100 Brake Pads they feel like $20 pads. They dust a lot, which is not a problem if they stopped well. It never gives good feel and it probably takes more pressure to stop than the stock pads. This was a waste of $$. Do not make this mistake. I use Hawk pads on my AutoX car and those are great, but these pads are no where near that and not even to the stock pads.

Nice bite once they got broken in and seated. No black dust, but it does produce a light brown dust, probably a combination of dust and rust. Good pedal feel with plenty of reserve. Stock pads were noisy when rotors were cold especially after getting wet, these are quiet.

Jeep Cherokees chew-up front brakes. I''ve tried the Hawk ceramics on another vehicle and really liked them. Very low dust, good grab and no noise. Hopefully they will last longer than 20-25K miles.

I was a little hesitant about purchasing a brake pad that promised less dust yet was quieter than OE. This is my wife''s vehicle but I use it to tow my race car. I''m hard on brakes and have extremely high expectatations. These ceramic Hawk pads combined with the powerslot rotors have great responsiveness, stopping power, but have great control especially for such a heavy vehicle. 100% better than OE - quieter, smoother, less dust. These definitely deliver more than they promise (not to mention that I saved $150+ over OE equipment). Highly recommend. Most importantly, my wife likes them and says they''ve never been better. - Andy - Walnut Creek

These Hawk ceramic pads perform much worse than stock. With the stock brakes on a panic stop the brakes would lock up and abs would activate on dry pavement. With the new Hawk pads the tires will not lock up on dry pavement. Does not matter if brakes are hot or cold. Brakes fade when they get hot. Found that out when I was burnishing them exactly as on the box. Used brand new rotors cleaned with brake cleaner before installation. There is no air in the system either. Pedal feels very good.

These rotors work very nice and do the job for a great price. Very satisified. Hawk Ceramic pads perform worse than stock.

The stock pads that were on the car stopped much better than the Hawk Pads. I burnished the Hawk pads and rotors exactly as was specified on the box. I also installed brand new rotors and cleaned them with brake cleaner before installing. The brakes used to lock up for panic stops and ABS would activate with stock pads on dry pavement. Now they will not lock up or activate ABS.

A little more noise than I expected. The break-in seemed to take longer than normal rotors though. But it seems to have had no effect on their performance. But overall, pretty good brakes.
