These brakes squeal really bad. I replaced my old Brembo pads because they squeal and they didn t even need it. I used a healthy amount of grease and at first they only squealed very slightly. Just today, they squeal so bad and it is very embarrassing. Every time I stop people look at me.
So far Brembo pads are a big Fad.
I am going to maybe try and bed them again. Last resort jack the car up, pull the pads and spray some anti squeal. The rear pads had 45deg corners and the fronts do not. maybe the fronts need to be beveled even though it sounds like its only the rears because of the lighter pressure?

I recently purchase this pads to meet two of my requirements: 1. Stop the noise 2. Stop the brake dust. I was concerned at first with the noise because after the bedding procedure the pads made noise on regular braking. But after a couple of miles of stop and go traffic during my daily work commute the noise stopped. I washed my wheels two weeks ago and the wheels are still shinny like I just washed them I am really happy about that no more black dubs. Performance braking power is not a concern of mine because my 300C is just a daily driver I am not planning on going to the track.

The previous owner of the Corvette had replaced the brakes a year ago with OEM ceramic brake pads and OEM cross drilled rotors. Upon inspection the brakes visually looked fine but braking power, initial bite, dusting and noise were not up to snuff (not bad but I knew it could be better). I decided to try the Hawk performance ceramic brake pads with brake paste on the outside shims (somehow it helps with noise). Big difference I am now completely happy with the brakes. 90% less dusting and a lot less noise with better initial bite (even with the somewhat harsh break in procedure). The OEM brakes weren t bad but compared to the Hawk s the difference is night and day. I hate noisy brakes and now there is only very occasional noise. The rotors were in great shape so I decided to skip the recommended sanding, machining, etc. If the Hawk s hold up I ll definitely get them again come the need for new brakes.

I bought the Hawk ceramic brake pads for my truck as I wanted some brake pads that could stand up to the duty of occasional towing while still being good for normal street use. They work well with towing and seem to slow the truck down a little more than the stock brakes, but not too much more. I am glad I made this choice with brakes.

I replaced my stock pads on my J55 brake option 90 Corvette. The original pads at 28000 miles faded badly on a couple of high speed stops. It felt like the pads were just bouncing along on the rotors. These new pads bedded in quickly and have really good stopping power with little or no dusting. The rotors are still like new. Very quiet and great performance!

Exceedingly pleased with the Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads I installed on my 06 GTO. They are quiet as a mouse, responsive and virtually dust-free so far. At a reasonable price, they are certainly worth every penny and I would highly recommend them to anyone searching for decent pads and will definitely be willing to purchase these pads again in the future. I hope this review serves you well as I based my purchase on the previously submitted reviews of this product and am glad I did. Happy driving and be safe!!

Excellent pads probably second best i had. They tend to be better under hard breaking conditions, excellent on the highway and emergency stopping, about the same as stock Ralliart pads in every day driving, but much better fade resistance and under hard breaking, recommended for any enthusiast or for a mild track day, or any everyday spirited driving.

Short and sweet: Amazing brakes warm and dry, good brakes wet, be careful cold.

I ve used these during commutes, weekend drives, and long trips across states. This winter was bad and when temperature really dropped I had to press much harder on the pedal to slow my car down. If it was an icy day, I would spend the first few hundred yards warming up my brakes with some extra stops so that I would feel safe when up to speed. On wet days I still had a bit of this sensation, but not nearly as much. After one or two stops everything felt back to normal. Where these brakes really shine is on longer trips or on hot days when the brakes get a little warmer. When warm, these brakes will stop you on a dime. Great feel and quick responsiveness. On one >600 mile trip just after I installed the brakes I actually was a little scared by the stopping power since I wasn t used to performance pads. Once I got the feel for them, I felt much safer than I ever had with my oem pads.

Overall, great pads in normal weather and even more impressive in warm weather. If you live anywhere with harsh winters, they re still fine as long as you warm them up a bit on cold mornings. Wouldn t use too near either of the poles.

No problem with noise or dusting for about 1,000 miles. After that, groaning and squealing with moderate stopping. Dusting gets continually worse. Removed pads after 2,000 miles, re-applied anti-squeal, checked original installation and rotors found no problems, re-installed pads. No sqeal for about 500 miles before major groaning started. Intensity and frequency of noise changes with temp and humidity. E-mailed Hawk for advice twice, did not receive a response....will not buy Hawk brakes again.

Bought these as it stated stock performance without the dust, this was my biggest gripe with the stock pads.

I installed these with new factory rotors and followed the bedding in procedure to a T

These don t even come close to stock performance, the difference was night and day and not in a good way the first couple of hundred miles I came close to rear ending vehicles.

Now after 12000 miles I ve gotten used to them and drive and brake accordingly but will not buy them again.

On a good note have not heard the squeel once my wheels have been clean and my rotors still look like the day I installed them and the pads show very minimal wear.

It doesn''t bite in as much as I expected on initial stopping, but when applied more force into the break pedal it would stop very fast. I did several runs testing the break for fading and I was surprised with its ability to stop after braking more than 10 times without allowing it to cool down at all. This system is a lot better than my old stock brakes.

Very very nice. New Michelin tires helped as well, I''m sure. Slight rusting on the interior of the front vents, but not really noticeable to anyone but me. A little dustier than I expected, but the stopping power is awesome, so it is worth it. When I get my new struts and springs, I''ll be in business. Elliptical slots look boss. Stock calipers are painted blue. Peace.

Bought these for street use. Dissapointed right away with initial bite around town. I do not even push hard! Dust was no better than OEM. Then I made the mistake of taking them to the track (Roebling) for a DE. Braking was bad through just one session on a pretty brake-friendly track. I drove the car to the hotel that night and thought I wouldn''t stop at all! Scary. Next morning, changed them out.

I purchased these brake pads in hopes of improving the performance of my brakes without a full brake kit. These pads stop very well and I was very impressed. I had read other reviews and few persons had mentioned heavy dusting and brake squeek. I figured since many had good results they must have been odd situations. I can tell you 3 things, these pads stop amazingly well. They Dust a LOT more than indicated by ratings and they are noisy. The other reviews indicate not everyone has had noise problems. I can tell you as a GM master tech they have been installed correctly on my car using brake quiet as an addition to help reduce noise. The shims on the backside seemed a bit thin to me compared to OE pads which could contribute to the noise. As long as you can live with some dust and noise, these pads are great.

I have had several cars with slotted and/or drilled rotors as well as ceramic pads from other manufacturers. These pads are easily the worst. They have been bedded them in per the instructions. When just about stopped, they are noisy. You can also feel the pads on the drilled / slotted parts of the rotors through the brake pedal during normal braking. I expect it under hard braking, but not when driving normally. Previously, I had drilled / slotted rotors with the stock pads on this car with no issues except dust, so I thought I would try these.

I purchased these Hawk Performance Ceramics to replace AXXIS UKCeramic.

The AXXIS UKCeramics were great for stopping power but the pad material was too soft hence the pads were extremely dusty. But the Hawk performace pads on the other hand, are the best pads I have installed on this car. These Pads Stop better then the stock pads and much better then the AXXIS. If you are a spirited, are hard driver like I am then these are the brakes for you. I''ll state that it is as simply as this: buy these pads if you drive hard or like to push your vehicle. Hawks is the first Brand name for my car.

It has gotten so bad that when I brake the steering wheel vibrates really bad. I called tire rack and they told me to get the measurements to the rotors at a garage. The garage took the measurements and the rotors are bad already. I would not recommend these rotors to anyone. The stock rotors on my evo were better

I thought 4 out of 5 dots for low dust meant little dust. This pad creates 10 times that of the stock Toyota/Lexus pads. Totally unacceptable! On the plus side, however, the minimal noise created and adequate stopping power are equal to that of the stock pad. I replaced the stock pads with 52k miles on them. In addition, I could have gotten approximately 5k more miles out of them. This Hawk product is definately not an equivalent replacement.

The Power Slot Power Alloy rotors were purchased in combination with Hawk Performance Ceramic pads to address a wet braking issue (no initial grab when rotors get wet) that is common with the stock components on this car ( 04 Subaru WRX STi). The rotor/pad combination appears to have solved the problem, although it isn''t clear if the rotors or the pads were responsible for the improvement.

For $100 Brake Pads they feel like $20 pads. They dust a lot, which is not a problem if they stopped well. It never gives good feel and it probably takes more pressure to stop than the stock pads. This was a waste of $$. Do not make this mistake. I use Hawk pads on my AutoX car and those are great, but these pads are no where near that and not even to the stock pads.

Nice bite once they got broken in and seated. No black dust, but it does produce a light brown dust, probably a combination of dust and rust. Good pedal feel with plenty of reserve. Stock pads were noisy when rotors were cold especially after getting wet, these are quiet.

Jeep Cherokees chew-up front brakes. I''ve tried the Hawk ceramics on another vehicle and really liked them. Very low dust, good grab and no noise. Hopefully they will last longer than 20-25K miles.

I was a little hesitant about purchasing a brake pad that promised less dust yet was quieter than OE. This is my wife''s vehicle but I use it to tow my race car. I''m hard on brakes and have extremely high expectatations. These ceramic Hawk pads combined with the powerslot rotors have great responsiveness, stopping power, but have great control especially for such a heavy vehicle. 100% better than OE - quieter, smoother, less dust. These definitely deliver more than they promise (not to mention that I saved $150+ over OE equipment). Highly recommend. Most importantly, my wife likes them and says they''ve never been better. - Andy - Walnut Creek

These Hawk ceramic pads perform much worse than stock. With the stock brakes on a panic stop the brakes would lock up and abs would activate on dry pavement. With the new Hawk pads the tires will not lock up on dry pavement. Does not matter if brakes are hot or cold. Brakes fade when they get hot. Found that out when I was burnishing them exactly as on the box. Used brand new rotors cleaned with brake cleaner before installation. There is no air in the system either. Pedal feels very good.

The stock pads that were on the car stopped much better than the Hawk Pads. I burnished the Hawk pads and rotors exactly as was specified on the box. I also installed brand new rotors and cleaned them with brake cleaner before installing. The brakes used to lock up for panic stops and ABS would activate with stock pads on dry pavement. Now they will not lock up or activate ABS.

Don''t waste your time buying these. Excessive noise and not much better performance. I put them on and took them off a few months later, wast of money. Now they sit on my workbench as a big paperweight. After I had them on for a while, they got very noisy after a few stops. Sounded like a train stopping. So I took the car to the Chysler dealer and test drove it with the mechanic to let him feel the pulsating as each slot passed by a pad. I didn''t know if my car was bad or what. He said they were junk and he know others that had the same problem that I had. I removed them and replaced with stock rotors. My wife is happy again. I usually don''t post to these reviews but this product struck a nerve with me.

I had the same problem as one of the other respondents. I had the pads a little more than a year and they warped on me. I drive in Germany on the Autobahn around 75-85 mph but I do not brake hard. There is no reason for the rotors to have warped so fast. I will replace them with the OEM rotors that I saved, thankfully. Furthermore, I will try another brand in the future.

If you can see your brembo rotors, definitely a good idea to get the centers painted. The centers and edges are orange with rust within 2 weeks. Purely a matter of asthetics. They work very well, although they take a while to warm up to their optimal temperature. My Del Sol stops incredibly fast once they ve warmed up, but when they re cold I ve got the stopping distance of an Accord.

I was looking for an alternative to the stock brake pad & rotor which was very dusty and had a bit too much initial grab for my preferences. The Tire Rack sales personnel helped me find an alternative that has a smooth brake pedal take up, with great stopping power when you step on it. I was also looking to find a "dust free" solution that did not require weekly cleaning of the front wheels. The solution was Hawk performance ceramic pads with dba 400 slotted rotors. I think the solution is perfect for my driving style. The dust is gone. The initial brake pedal take up is smooth, allowing for casual around town driving without giving everyone a mild case of whiplash. Brakes still stop great when needed. I had occassion to test them with an unplanned panic stop, and although a few feet longer stopping distance than the OEM, still stopped well short of needing to hit the ditch to avoid becoming #3 in a high speed pile up. The dBA rotors appear to be without wear, so perhaps these would last a couple of lifetimes under average use. Great recommendations, and great products. I am a satisfied customer.

I can t believe it took me this long to put HAWK pads and power slot rotors on. What a difference... I used to clean my front wheels once or twice a week due to the stock brake pad dust. Not anymore. Infiniti should just give up on stock pad and just put HAWK pads with Powerslot rotors and call it a day. Do yourself a favor and put this combo on your vehicle and stop dealing with dust and brake noise. I am puting a set on my wifers FX in a couple of months. Had the pads and rotors installed at a TireRack prefered installer and go a great price. Call around first. Shell in Great Falls VA is top notch. Will go back to them in future.

I bought these ceramic pads specifically based on the brake dust reduction claim. I was horribly disappointed. These pads produce dark brown dust MUCH MORE than the stock pads. They squeal VERY loudly, too. I might be able to fix/reduce the squeal, but I cannot do anything about the dust. This is with quality Brembo rotors, which I installed at the same time as the pads.

I m not sure why these are listed as "low noise and dust" but they are neither. These pads squeal every time I stop, people look around to see if there is a school bus around because thats what it sounds like. I did the prescribed "bed in" procedures and they never stopped squealing to this day. I will never buy Hawk pads again! If you want to sound like a city bus stopping, get these pads!!

I bought the DBA 4000 series rotors and Hawk Pads after I warped the stock rotors. I drag race my car a lot. So slowing down from 115mph several times in a row can beat up the brakes pretty good. With less than 200 miles on these pads I am in search of a less noisy pad. When my last pads wore out, the squealing drove me nuts. I searched and searched and Tire Rack reccomended these pads based on what i was looking for, I clearly explained that noise was my biggest issue. These pads they work very well, produce way less dust than the OE, but the noise is endless. When I step into them really hard no problem but slowing down from below 50mph and its embarrassing. I have even had people nice enuff to let me know i need new brakes really bad (if they only knew, these are brand new pads)..... if all that matters is stopping power these pads are excellent but if noise is an issue there has to be better out there. As for me, I''m going back to the OE, maybe pricey but there is no noise at all.

The rotors were overkill for my driving style. The ceramic pads do not have the initial bite, nor do they seem to haul the car down as fast as the OEM BMW/Mini pads for the same amount of pedal effort. Nevertheless, they are more than adequate, make no noise, keep the wheels a whole lot cleaner, and the anti-skid still works great. As the Mini can pretty much out brake most of the other cars out there, I d go with the ceramic pads for day-to-day street driving, and enjoy the cleaner wheels. Just press a bit harder on the brake pedal as required. The SS brake lines were again probably overkill for the street. But, I have always installed them on my cars, if for nothing other than peace of mind. Brakes are not sexy, but they do come in handy from time to time, and it s not worth a few extra bucks to go the cheap route.

Rotors warped after 10,000 miles and needed to be re-cut. I would NOT recommend attempting to increase stopping power through the use of ANY aftermarket parts. The Camry front disc/rear drum configuration lacks sufficient brake swept area. From this experience I would suggest anyone with a Japanese car with disc/drum setups to buy a complete Brembo(or other mfgr) 4-wheel disc conversion with larger rotors at all four corners if you want to improve your cars braking performance.

Cold bite on break pads are better than expected for ceramic. Deceleration from 140 under heavy braking produced moderate fade. Deceleration from 80 under moderate braking produced little to no fade.

Dust is fair to moderate as wheel cleaning is recommended weekly for this pads.

Noise is moderate (Cannot objectivly rate as pads are being replaced due to a warrenty claim with Hawk) With proper bed-in and anti-squeal applied at installation, noise should not be an issue.

Will re-rate once the warrenty claim is processed and new Hawk pads are installed.

I love these brake pads. I have white wheels on my car and was sick to death of the heavy brake dust from the OEM MINI pads. These stop just as well as the OEM pads (possibly a little better), made absolutely no noise (which the OEM pads did) and they barely leave any brake dust (and it s a lighter color, so you really don t see it anyway). These pads rock!

The first time I drove the windstar after installing the new rotors and pads was amazing. The smoothness and stopping power was fantastic. It felt like a totally new brake system. Absolutly no uneven braking, no oscillation, no warped rotor feel. The rotors and pads took about 300 miles to break in 100 percent. I love the ATE slotted rotors, I will never use a Brembo again. I used 2 sets of Brembo rotors for this vehicle the past 3 years. The front left Brembo rotor always warped and grabbed after about 300 mile s. I am convinced there is a big quality difference in the manufacture of rotors. Also, I swithced to ceramic pads. This seems to make a very good combination with the ATE rotors, and cermic pads. I am totally satisfied at this point. If these rotors do not warp for the next 5000 miles, i will be totally commited to ATE rotors.

I requessted advice to minimize rotor dust and to reduce brake "grab" when stepping on the brake pedal. I needed to replace both pads and rotors on my 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan. Tire Rack recommendations met my needs perfectly. I couldn t be more pleased with results. Dust has been eliminated, now I do not have to wash the wheels every Sat morning. I also wanted to eliminate the initial brake "grab" without minimizing brake performance too much. The Hawk performance ceramic pads have a smoother take-up as compared to the OEM brakes. I do not think they compromise brake stopping power very much, although they do not have quite the initial "bite". Thus for my "daily" driver needs, this appears to be a much better package. I went with the DBA slotted rotors, and do not experience any fade. As this wasn t an issue with the OEM set-up, I don t imagine I will see much performance difference as I don t track my car. I imagine the difference will be in the extended life these rotors would offer if I keep the car long enough.

Thank you for your expertise, and assistance.

I ll try a more aggressive pad next time. These Hawks make no noise and produce little dust. It s hard to tell if this combo is any better than stock in terms of stopping, but the Power Slot rotors are thicker and heavier and presumably less likely to warp.

The Hawk ceramic pad works very well with the slotted rotors. Because of ceramic s hard characteristics, it requires a performance rotor over an OEM replacement. It s not so much about the pad or the rotor, but more about the combination that makes this setup work so well. To give you an idea of my driving with this product, spirited doesn t even begin to explain it. Not to mention I ve tacked on 42K in one year. Stopping have never been so easy, the pad has yet to make a noise and brake dust is about average. I m happy with these products and would recommend them to a friend.

I purchased the Powerslot rotors (cryo-treated) along with the Hawk performance ceramic pads. NOISY!!! would be the word to describe this combo on a 2002 4wd Blazer (S-10 style). The vehicle stops straight at all speeds but VERY noisy when applying the brakes at slow speeds such as approaching a stop sign or stop light or even lightly applying around a parking lot. It s embarrassing! I ve completed numerous brake jobs and sum up the brake noise as being a bad rotor and brake combo. Anyone reading this could suggest lightly sanding the rotor with embry cloth or applying a sticky adhesive to the back side of the pads to eliminate or reduce the brake noise - these have all been applied with no noise reduction. The brake lines were completely purged including the master cylinder and renewed with the correct brake oil. Everything was cleaned with an approved brake cleaner to ensure no particles or residue were present on the brake pads or rotors. My recommendation is NOT to use this combo for a replacement brake job. I purchased this exact same combo simultaneously on a 2002 Mustang GT with similar results - not as much noise but still present. I would like to add that I was not impressed upon opening and inspecting the Hawk pads. There is a cross-cut that exists on most ceramic pads and upon pairing the Hawk pads, the cross-cut only existed on one pad. So lets do the math...4 wheels, 4pairs of pads so that is 8 pads altogether. 7pads had NO cross-cut, 1 pad contained a cross-cut. Summary - poor packaging. Similar with the Mustang Hawk performance ceramic pads - 4 wheels, 4pairs of pads = 8pads altogether. 6 pads contained the cross-cut, 2 had NO cross-cut. So where do you put the cross-cut section? inside or outside of the rotor assuming the force applied is equal in both directions. In all my experience brake pads are IDENTICAL in both geometry and optimization features.

Issue One: Be sure your installer checks the pad brackets as they may need tightening down. Both my rear installations rattled on bumps and needed to be tightened to secure the pads from rattling.

Issue Two: New Rotors and Pads, even after break-in period, are intermittently squealling, very annoying.

Issue Three: Need to inspect for other causes but I m finding extreme shimmying upon applying the brakes at moderate to high speeds.

Bottom Line: There s got to be better product out there, pass on this combination.

Went to the Powerslot cryo rotors because of constant warping of OEM rotors and aftermarket OEM-style rotors (Brembo), sometimes as soon as 5000 miles without any heavy use. Have a feeling that their is a basic design flaw in the Tacoma braking system that might have something to do with the same size rotor being use on the base Tacoma with standard rims and tires and the Prerunner model with the much larger and heavier rim and tire package. To early to tell if the cryo rotors will resist warping any better, but am concerned since these Powerslot cryo rotors started life as the same Brembo OEM rotors that warped quickly. I guess they use Brembo s as the base product then slot and cryo treat them. The Hawk cermaics pads give better bite and create about half the dust as the very dirty OEM pads.

Been riding on the ceramic pads with slotted and dimpled rotors from turboimport for over 3000 miles. No warping minimal noise and brake dust, I drive around like a nut and been through stop-n-go traffic every other weekend. If you re looking for performance and you re sick of brake dust making your wheels look like crap than ceramic brake pads are the way to go. These pads are the best investment I ve made as far as performance stopping power.

Initially I was very impressed with the responsiveness of my new pads. I had to have my rotors turned twice becauce the first time they were turned too fast and caused some squealing. Since approximately 12,000 miles since install I do have some some light squealing and have learned to deal with it. I have been to the dealership (who turned my rotors the 2nd time) and cannot distinguish the sqealing. But in all the feel and the brake dust left on my wheels is far superior than the stock ones I had replaced.Thanks.

Excelent PAD, the brake sensor are not used with these pads, you have to drill you OWN holes on the pad if you want them to work. A very big oversite that the makers forgot to look at.

Overall happy with the pad but will not know when I need to change tham the when I find out I will have to lay out some more money for the rotors..

I used Hawk “Street “ performance pads with Brembo cross-drilled rotors.

The first time I installed the pads they really squealed. I removed them installed Disk-brake pad quiet to the backs. They only sometime have a slight squeal when really working them on the Pittsburgh hills.

I can live with the squeal because the stopping power is so excellent.

The wear has been really good. The dust is slight and washes off easily.

The breaks seem to get better as they get hot.

One fantastic thing I like about the set up is the “high-way rain” situation. When coming off a rainy highway the stock pads had a few seconds where “there were no brakes”. This is very scary if your doing 65 and the ramp is full. This setup clears the water much faster.

I love my brakes on the Passat.

Was told that they produce practically no dust. Mine produce as much, if not more, than the OEM pads. They also squeek for a split second each time I break. I also felt that they took awhile to heat up before they started gripping. I recently got a loaner during a service appointment at the dealer. The loaner, which had OEM brakes, had noticibly much faster breaking power. Not happy with how they were described to me and how they actually performed.

Except for the squeeking, same experience with the Satisfied ceramics on my wife s car.

The stock brake pads on the 2006 Z06 Corvette are extremely dusty. After one day of drivng, your wheels are covered in brake dust. After a week of driving after installing the Hawk Ceramic pads, there was at least 90% less brake dust. The braking is just like stock. If you track your car on a road course, then switch back to the stock pads. Any ceramic pad is not designed to operate at the higher temperatures of track conditions.

They worked only marginally better than stock, coated my wheels with thick, dark dust and lasted only 25,000 miles. I just replaced them with a set of akebono pads which already work much better.

Driving through D.C./MD/VA traffic definitely pushes these brakes everyday. I ve made 3 emergency stops due to someone cutting in front of me and this rotor and brake pad combination have been superb. Highly recommended. Not grabby, low noise, incredible braking.

These would make a good autocross pad. They stop well when cold, and are a bit more agressive than the stock pads on my 2003 Mazda Protege 5. They do dust considerably more than the stock pads, which were pretty clean. They generate a brown dust. They can also squeak a bit under very light application at very low speed, although this really isn t an issue.

Overall, a very nice pad. But since I don t autocross this car, I ll probably go back to the OE pad after this set wears out, as long as the prices are similar.

Although these pads deliver performance equal to the stock set up they lack shims on the back and are therefore extremely noisy. Also, manufacturer s claims of low dust performance have proven to be false - I am still getting a fair amount of dark dust on the rims in a few days of driving.

The Hawk pads provide supperior bite and stopping power over stock but squeel like a stuck pig. When they were new, they didn t squeel but after 500 miles the noise started and didn t quit until I returned them. The process of returning the pads and exchanging them with the Satisfied pads was great. The Hawk pads are not a good match for the VW Passat. My wife drives the car every day and I was looking for a more agressive pad to decrease the stopping distance over stock. The stoping distance was great but the noise was unbearable.

I think the ceramic pads may be the weak link in the set-up. The bite is less than I expected, and though the brakes/rotors took longer to show fade than the full stock set-up, it did come on quicker than I expected.

I have installed and used dozens of sets of pads in the last 25 years on all my family s cars as well as friends cars and I have never experienced brake pads this noisy. I have had pads that have been noisy before, but these Hawk Ceramics have a combination of a VERY loud high pitch and a VERY loud low pitch noise.....very annoying and embarrassing. The Hawk Ceramics on all four wheels are making noise. I have not heard brake noise this loud and annoying on anything other than old semi trucks. On this particular car I had already used four sets of OEM pads and two sets of OEM rotors before I tried the Hawks and they had all been quiet. Obviously I would not recommend these pads to others.

Very good brake pads at a fraction of the Mopar equivelent. Most of the driving on them has been some city. some highway alot of off road use and my brake pedal would fade during the course of the day 4 wheeling not since I installed the Hawk from pads, I also installed the Satified rear brake shoes but @1000 miles later I had a chance to upgrade my rear brakes to Grand Cherokee disks on a 92 Cherokee and that was a big improvement for the stock braking system, when I need pads again I will get them from you guys again.

These pads are very similar to Hawk HPS as far as performance. I had decided to try the ceramic pads since they were supposed to be quieter, less abrasive and far cleaner than typical pads. Again, they have performed about the same as the HPS pads, but seem to create MORE dust, not less as advertised. That has been very disappointing since I wouldn t have bothered replacing the HPS pads had I known.

Stock BMW pads (Jurid front, Textar rear) created overwhelming dust which built up to a thick caked-on coating. Even with weekly cleaning. These are amazingly clean. Even the rotors stay shiny after rain or sitting unused. Braking is excellent for the way I drive. When coming to a stop, you can find the right speed and pressure combination to make them sing a little, but they are generally very quiet.

Significant improvent over the stock pads from GM. Brakes grab much quicker then before. This is an especially wecome inprovment for this larger car. I just installed Hawk Performance Ceramic pads on the front of my 03 MDX, and there is a considerable improvement in brake performance, with no squeal at all. The brakes are smooth, with good initial bite, very good feel (easy to modulate) and very good fade resistance. We frequently drive the hills of San Francisco and it didn t take many stops with the stock brakes before there d be a difference in pedal effort (fade). There is almost no fade under the same conditions with the Hawks, and they seem to stop the car in a shorter distance. I highly recommend these over the stock pads.

Less than 3 weeks after having these installed and performing the suggested break in, I was almost involved in a chain reaction accident with 6 other cars. I was the only one able to stop fast enough to avoid the accident. The pads have a great solid feel and the stop much better than the BMW OEM pads and don t leave the terrible dust. They paid for themselves on that stop alone.

I have not found this product to be gentler on the rotors. In fact all 4 rotors warped with in a couple of months of installation. Two rotors were replaced free of charge by the installer and they warped again shortly there after. I thought these would be better than the stock pads based on comments from the sales team but I wouldn t agree based on my experience. There has been nothing out of the ordinary about my braking while using these pads.

If you want pads which are quiet and have minimal dust, do not use these pads. Before I sparayed the backs with an anti-squeal coating, they screamed so loud my wife didn t want to drive the car. With the coating, they are quieter but still much loader than I would expect from a pad adverstised as quiet. The amount of dust is worse than the stock pads, so the wheels are always black. The only good thing is they stop very well. I have been very satisfied with Hawk s other pads (including race pads), but I would never use these again.

First, I will clarify that I am in the search of street/track pads. So far, I think that those pads are Hawk HPS+ s. So I try this new pads out from Hawk. With only 1000, they are done. I did two track events, which was about 350 miles on the track. Max speed was 125, then braking to about 35. Anyways, the pads were horrible at the track. They fade immediatly, spongy and did not stop at all. However, on the street at 40~60mph, they did respond well. I guess they are more of an autocross pads. The rest of the brake setup is not in question since the problem immediatly went away after I changed out the pads and nothing else.

Original brakes had high pedal efforts and would fade badly after one hard stop. The new pads exhibit similar braking power to OEM when cold, but improve significantly once you put some heat into the pads. Hard stops now require less pedal effort with no loss in feel. Repeated hard stops are handled well without fade (OEM faded badly).

I had expected even better results, butthis is still much better than stock. I used to run Repco MetalMasters on older sport sedans, and would love to find a similar type pad for my truck.

I made two notable and very cost effective changes to my brake system. First I replaced the stock pads with Hawk ceramic pads. They may or may not have made a performance difference, but my brake dust has dropped to almost nothing - important for custom wheel finishes. I also swapped the stock rotors with much better looking PowerSlot Cryo-Treated Rotors. The brakes feel much firmer now and the car looks much better with these aftermarket rotors. One word of caution - make sure your installer follows the rotor installation instructions *exactly*. My dealer didn t and there was a noticable vibration until a more experienced tech took the car on the road and seated the rotors properly - they have been flawless since then.

After a few slow stops from 40-0 and one hard stop from 60-0 these brake pads were ready. They are extremely quiet and I havent seen any brake dust yet on my wheels and it s been over a 1,000 miles already. I recommend these to anyone.

Original brake pads (and brake system) is the

major sub-par item on a vehicle in this MSRP

price range. The Hawk brakes(along with turning

all rotors) stop better and have no noise. Good

safety improvement for the price.

The combination of pads and brakes is good but I think next time I will go with a more performance oriented pad. The pedal fill just a bit too spongey and I can feel the release. Plus, they are starting to squiel. On the other hand I am a touch hard on them. ;)

Great braking after you get some heat in them. When cold it takes some extra pedal.

No fade at all under hard braking. Great upgrade over stock.

Great combination. Brembo Sport Drilled Rotors and the new Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads. 2.5 hours to do all 4 brakes assembles. Everything fit as expected. TireRack needs to update their Break-in procedures to include the details from the Hawk site for the Ceramic pads. Slightly different and if followed correctly, works great. Had only 1 occurrance of squeal shortly after the break -in was complete. Since then none and essentially No Brake Pad Dust!! My wheels now get dirty from road dirt. I can t tell which is which. Was afraid that I might be giving up some braking performance by not staying with the OEM pads (as some have suggested), but this combo provides better braking, no noise and very little dust. The initial bite is smoother coming on and braking is more linear/progressive and stronger across that braking event. Highly recommended.

The difference between the stock brake pads and these replacement is the difference between night and day. These pads add safety and security to my daily drive. Even the mechanic who installed them was impressed with their effectiveness after a number of aggressive stops. I can t believe I waited so long to have them installed.

The main reason I chose the ceramics was that they were supposed to be cleaner. That definitely is not the case. While the rears are about the same as stock (which are dirty) the fronts are very bad. The squeeling is quite annoying and they are very abusive on the rotors. Within 2 weeks of iinstalling them I started noticing grooves in the rotors. I thought they may have picked up a rock or something to cause the groove so I removed and inspected. No rock or other debris and I had the problem start on other rotors too. Not impressed.

I ordered Powerslot Cryo Slotted Rotors and Hawk Brake Pads from the Tire Rack, Techni-Fit steel braided lines from ptuning.com, and Motul DOT 5.1 brake fluid from Motorspot.com. All parts were installed by a certified Toyota mechanic. After 500 miles of seating the brakes pads, what a difference in stopping power! And, no brake pad squeal at all! The rotors are very stylish-looking as well as functional, and look great with my car s Konig wheels. Thanks for your help, Tire Rack!

I recommend this combination for Intrepid R/T and Chrysler 300M owners (as we ve got the same brakes). Braking power is outstanding over stock, I have *NEVER* experienced the stopping power this combination has brought me.

My only complaints are noise and dust, as these pads are not quiet unless they re hot (audible squeak sound on cold stops) and my rims after 1000 miles are turning a dull grey due to the amount of dust.

I put 30,000 miles on my first set of pads and rotors which were stock Mopar, I m hoping these will last as long. Next time around I ll try a different brand of ceramic pads and hopefully avoid the dust and noise.

Rotors: Baer EradiSpeed+ 2pc Rotor Pr

June 14, 2005

Amazing difference. For the price of OEM replacement, I have slotted/cross drilled rotors that perform better than I ever expected. The combo of Hawk pads and the Baer rotors is a definite must do for C4 drivers looking to pull down the added speed resulting from performance modifications. My C4 is pushing 400 HP after changes I have made and frankly the stock brakes were not really up to the task. Even with the 13s in the front, I had a few scary moments heading into turns at speed. I have not had any problems with the new brakes.

An added bonus is that these rotors look great with ZR1 wheels and my installer finished my calipers in red for free. Looks awesome against the Admiral Blue paint.

Practically zero dust. Expensive, but I d buy them again because of the lack of dust (the best feature, I think).

Nice pads, great stopping power and responsiveness, especially on my heavy 300M, but the brakes tend to squeal when they warm up. They are nice and silent when cool, but the squeal is annoying. It s not horribly loud, but when you expect silence, it s a disappointment. These are probably the best brake pads that I have ever used in regards to really being low dust. I have tried every brand that claims to be "low dust" and these are the only ones that live up to that promise. I just wish that they would stay dead silent. If they would, they would easily earn 10 s across the board.
