PERFORMANCE RATING:

Lea esta página en español

Hawk Performance HPS-High Performance Street disc brake pads are designed for sports cars, coupes, sedans and pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles used for high speed driving or that may encounter repetitive heavy braking. Hawk Performance HPS Ferro-Carbon compound brake pads provide advanced braking characteristics to enhance the driving experience. This unique compound combines the safety and quality of aerospace design partnered with the braking technology of motorsports.

Hawk Performance HPS pads offer 20-40% more stopping power and higher resistance to brake fade than most Original Equipment or standard replacement pads. This makes them more responsive and durable than most standard original brakes and makes Hawk Performance HPS pads the first… and least expensive…way to increase the stopping power of cars and light trucks.

As standard brake pads wear, brake dust is released as the friction material wears in everyday braking. Hawk Performance HPS brake pads are formulated to run cleaner and release extremely low levels of dust in normal street driving.

Key Features and Benefits of Hawk Performance HPS Brake Pads:

  • High friction/torque hot or cold
  • Gentle on rotors
  • Very quiet, low noise
  • Improved braking over OE pads
  • Extended pad life

Brake pads are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Pads should be replaced when approximately 1/8th inch of friction material remains on the steel backing plate.

NOTE:

Even though Hawk Performance burnishes its brake pads as a final step in the factory, all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

Brake components should be installed by a competent mechanic in a professional manner. Any incorrect installation of brake components can cause a major safety problem or an accident. I put these on my TSX. The rear brakes went after 26,000 mostly highway miles. Seems to be a problem with Honda Accord and TSX on original pads. I bought these, I wasn''t happy with original stopping power - no noise, much better stopping - can''t wait to change fronts as sell. I drive quick - 85 on highway, but here near NY with lots of traffic, brakes can take a beating doing 85-10 then 85-10 30 seconds later as people slow often. Highly recommended. BTW, easy change yourself. Instead of giving dealer $350, took maybe 25 minutes with help of my brother to do rears.

The Power Slot front rotors and ATE Slot Rear rotors are great. The Hawk HPS street/sport pads were returned and replace with stock pads because of no stopping power and was dangerous because very poor braking.

My S2000 is a daily driven, weekend track day car. I''ve been using the Hawk HPS front and back on the street and they are an excellent street pad. I change out the fronts to Carbotech XP-10s for track days. The Hawks on the rear really stand up to track days. They''ve lasted much longer than the stock or Axxis Ultimates.
