March 07, 2012 Mated with ATE Premium One Ceramic pads. Rotors are nice. Have resisted corrosion nicely and are not noisy. Have not warped after 5k. The ATE ceramic pads are a disappointment and would not recommend for strong braking performance. |

March 07, 2012 My old rotors were "warped" and not turnable. The set of raybestos pads and rotors had very nice stopping power but "warped" at about 20k miles. Not acceptable to me. So I was looking for something that would last much longer and not "warp"/or leave "warp" deposits from the pads on the rotors. So after much research I decided to get the Ate slotted and ceramic pads. The ability to stop is their but requires much more effort and an extra oomph at the end to get the relatively large and heavy vehicle to stop. Hot or cold temp or brakes makes not difference. Time will tell with the ability of the rotor and pad combo to last and not warp. After 5k its still good. |

October 26, 2011 40,000 miles ago I had some cheaper ceramics installed. While they still had 80% pad life left, they made annoying noises when cold. The noises lasted much longer than the initial "squeak" that you usually get. A mechanic friend of mine recommended Ate; so I had them installed. And yes, we re still in the baby stages of these brakes, but I think I made the right decision. Very good stopping power, no noise at all, even when cold, and no dust at all. My wheels are chrome, so EVERY speck of dust shows, and 1,000 miles into it, there was no visible dust. I also had them put on the rear, since they were about 40%. So far, I love these brakes. Ate is not well known in the public eye, but German car mechanics love them - I was told they re the OEM manufacturers for Mercedes and BMW. Go ahead, pick them up with confidence. |
