BRAKES ARE A SAFETY CRITICAL PART OF A MOTOR VEHICLE.
Brake components should be installed by a competent mechanic in a professional manner. Any incorrect installation of brake components can cause a major safety problem or an accident. If you are not a competent and qualified mechanic you should not attempt to install these products, but should take the vehicle to a vehicle dealer or competent automotive mechanic for their installation.
Disc brake pads and rotors are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Read More.
Upgrade your fleet or tow vehicle's braking performance with Hawk Performance's SuperDuty, Severe-Duty compound!
Hawk's SuperDuty Ferro-Carbon material is engineered for severe-duty professional truck fleets as well as trucks and SUVs frequently towing heavy loads. This material offers unmatched performance under high inertia and/or repetitive braking applications.
To drive safely with heavy payloads it is critical to have brakes that operate properly. Commercial fleet trucks and light trucks/SUVs carrying or towing heavy payloads experience high braking temperatures. Higher temperatures contribute to premature brake pad and rotor wear and directly effect brake pad fade or loss of friction. Hawk Performance's SuperDuty product is a severe-duty pad that has an extremely high coefficient of friction designed to provide maximum stopping power with excellent high temperature heat dissipation.
Key Features and Benefits of Hawk Performance SuperDuty Brake Pads:
- Stable friction output
- Extremely fade resistant
- Extended pad life
- Increased rotor life
- Much improved braking over OE pads
Brake pads are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Pads should be replaced when approximately 1/8th inch of friction material remains on the steel backing plate.
NOTE:
Even though Hawk Performance burnishes its brake pads as a final step in the factory, all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

Hawk S/D pads are the best I ve ever encountered. They are a little noisy & dusty, but the stopping power is OMG! better than any others I ve tried. Highly recommended where stopping power is tatamount.

The cryo treated Power Slot rotors are the best I have ever used. I installed them with Hawk SuperDuty pads and followed the manufacturers procedure to the letter. Replaced all brake hardware except calipers at the same time. Carefully cleaned all mating surfaces and lubed all pad/caliper contact points and slides. The result; these brakes are going to go about 80k miles, no warped rotors, average dusting compared to factory pads, and minimal noise. About every 3-5k miles I will get a loud grinding in the front for a half day or so, then it just goes away and is quiet for several more thousand miles. This vehicle is extremely modified and tows a 10,000 lb trailer, sees street duty (30k miles per year) and does moderate off-roading.
If this combination was available, I d put it on every vehicle I own. Well, maybe not the Porsche (ceramic breaks) or the M5, but I d put them on the rest.

Great brake pads and rotors. I will definitely buy them again. One down fall would be that for about the first 2,000 miles the pads are a bit noisy and give off A LOT of brake dust. But that will not stop me from buying them again. I use these on my 2009 Toyota Tundra Crew Max 4 x 2 and love the stopping power!
