After installing the H+R touring cup kit, replacing every suspension bushing with delrin, investing in new Continental Extreme Contact DW tires with new wheels, tie rod ends, subframe bushings, subframe reinforcement kit, and cross-drilled rotors, I was still unhappy with the car s suspension performance. I then installed the Hotchkis sport sway bar kit. I cannot describe the difference this has made. The car is flat in corners, predictable at the limits of traction, steering response is much tighter, and my comfortable cornering speed has increased by at least 20mph. The E46 needs a thick sway bar up front, as described by Turner motorsports, and this kit supplies what it needs. Best suspension upgrade you can make to this car. -- Review submitted: 2012-11-22

Great suspension kit. I would recommend this for anyone looking for moderate lowering (don t expect a "slammed" looked) without sacrificing ride quality. The suspension is very responsive to steering inputs and the vehicle is very stable when cornering all this with excellent ride quality. -- Review submitted: 2012-08-01

Initial ride after install rides smooth on both city/highway. After break in period of approx 3000 miles the springs become too soft at highway speeds, as the car becomes wavy. Not bad for city driving for areas north of the SALT beltline. But way too soft for a 3200lbs+ heavy of a car. I ll be lucky if I get 30K on them. -- Review submitted: 2012-07-26

Greatly improved handling in corners, eliminated nose dive during braking and hopping in corners. A little bit rougher ride, but well worth the trade off in handling. -- Review submitted: 2012-01-03

Perfect drop for those who are looking for a sport look, not slammed. Ride is firmer but acceptable. It looks proper now with my 18 s, like a Euro GTI but slightly lower. -- Review submitted: 2011-10-27

In replacing the front struts and rear shocks, I selected the H&R Touring Cup Kit for its "package" features. It presents a great value. First off, I was aware that the ride would be somewhat harsher than stock. However, coming from a stock, non-sport sedan, the ride quality did not become as harsh as I had expected. Although it is noticabley different than stock, it is definitely not unbearable and the benefits greatly outweigh that only drawback.

The car now sits a little lower but its really not all that visually noticeable. It does not look "show-car slammed." Front wheel gap reduced from 4 "fingers-width" to 2 "fingers-width." Rear reduced from 3 to 2 on that same "scientific" metric. This is the exact look I was going for, but it may not be enough visual lowering for some so do be aware of that. Note that this car has stock 16" wheels with a 55 aspect ratio tire on 205 width.

As far as handling is conerned, compared to the stock, non-sport suspension, the H&R Touring Cup Kit is far superior. Body roll greatly reduced. Turn-in is quicker. During most street turns, usually 90 degree, the car now sits flat, and settles much quicker on exits. Diving during hard braking is no longer as drastic. Squatting during acceleration was never really a factor for the chassis.

If doing the install yourself, definitely get preofessionally aligned after. The toe and camber were off a few degrees afterwards. -- Review submitted: 2011-03-18

I am an avid auto enthusiast. I don t mind investing in my car as long as it performs better then stock and lasts just as long or longer then stock. I am blown away by the performance and value of this Touring Cup kit from H&R. I bought it because of their reputation and once I drove on it, I was still impressed. This kit is not designed for all out performance or looks, but what it does offer is a great compromise between comfortable driving (hence the name Touring) and aggressive performance. My daughter is still a baby, and this kit is gentle enough for her to ride in the car, and it s aggressive enough for me to push the car hard when driving alone. I have used the Racing cup kit on a GTI in the past. That kit has a much lower stance, and is a little firmer. If I didn t have to drive in the snow, I may have gone with it instead, but this is an excellent cross between drivability and grin-inducing performance!! -- Review submitted: 2007-11-06

All my expectations were met except for the lowering, but I knew that this would be a compromise between ride quality and aesthetics. I am totally pleased with the compromise. Performance and ride quality are in balance. -- Review submitted: 2007-05-11
