About 2 years ago, I was in the market for new shocks and figured I would splurge a little and get a solid suspension to build on. I plan on keeping the vehicle, so I wanted to buy a reputable brand, with a warranty that I would never need to use. I occasionally autox but mostly daily drive my 2000 Audi S4, and wanted to maintain a civilized ride, not bone jarring or pogo-effect for me. Investigating the market there are about a half-dozen or so different brands to consider, with solid products, and great reputations, ranging in price from $3,000-$1100 + shipping. Remote reservoirs are nice for maintaining stable shock oil temperature, but a tad bit overkill for daily driving and occasional track. I was more concerned with ride quality, and having full adjustability of compression and rebound adjustments to maintain ride compliance for street use, and have the ability to firm up both with the turn of a knob. After reading all about each brand Bilstein PSS9 was the obvious choice. I normally drive with the shocks set to 9, which is the softest setting. I have adjusted them as firm as 2 and everything in between, and my favorite setting for the street is 9, in all 4 corners, and it would be nice if I could get another click softer in the rear, but I m not complaining! The fit and finish of the parts was outstanding, and as a seasoned manufacturing engineer I scrutinized my $2,000 purchase and was glad i spent the money for the added features to maintain the "Best of Both Worlds." The firm stiff responsiveness you need to push the vehicle confidently on the track, with the ability to dial it back for the drive home. -- Review submitted: 2013-07-28

I daily drive my IS300 as well as running it in SCCA autocross events, and the addition of the Hotchkis Sport Sway Bars is a must for anyone who wants fantastic cornering feel and great ride quality. I left the stock spring/shock combination and ride height, so the ride is still Lexus smooth and solid, but the chassis is far more responsive and has far less roll in the corners. The adjustability is nice as well, and has allowed me to almost totally eliminate the understeer than IS300s are plagued with thanks to that heavy cast iron block straight 6 up front. This upgrade should be the first thing anyone does to improve the handling of their car in my opinion they have made the car more competitive on the course and still just as comfortable on the road. A great buy and worth every penny -- Review submitted: 2013-06-24

Hotchkis kit definitely improved the handling of my SRT8 Challenger. Corners flatter. Lowered the car just enough. Any more and I d be hitting bulging pavement ruts and raised manhole covers. (SRT8 s are about an inch lower than R/T s from the factory). Kit install was a bit challenging as the rear sub-frame had to be lowered which required removing the back half of the exhaust and disconnecting the drive-shaft. (Don t try it without removing the exhaust!) I made sure to mark the sub-frame s exact position before lowering and reinstalled it precisely. I avoided having to have the car realigned by doing this. I installed the kit in conjunction with a "Hop-Not" wheel hop kit, heim joint rear sway-bar links and Pedders offset steering rack bushings (to reduce front suspension bump steer - THEY REALLY WORK). All together, the modifications made my Challenger handle better and behave less erratically. DON T RUSH THE JOB. BE METHODICAL. It s better to take the time and do it right than have to redo some part of it. All my mods were a lot of work but definitely were worth the effort. -- Review submitted: 2013-03-01

After installing the H+R touring cup kit, replacing every suspension bushing with delrin, investing in new Continental Extreme Contact DW tires with new wheels, tie rod ends, subframe bushings, subframe reinforcement kit, and cross-drilled rotors, I was still unhappy with the car s suspension performance. I then installed the Hotchkis sport sway bar kit. I cannot describe the difference this has made. The car is flat in corners, predictable at the limits of traction, steering response is much tighter, and my comfortable cornering speed has increased by at least 20mph. The E46 needs a thick sway bar up front, as described by Turner motorsports, and this kit supplies what it needs. Best suspension upgrade you can make to this car. -- Review submitted: 2012-11-22

The rear bar could be a little stiffer, I still find it rolls a lot in the rear. However, the handling is improved dramatically, and I think slight pressure changes could balance it out even further. The highway ride is unaffected but now most curves are almost FUN now in the box! -- Review submitted: 2012-09-29

These bars are thick and well designed. Very firm and do their job perfectly. Works very well with stiff suspension and have mad a huge difference in handling. The three setting options comes in handy. I have mine set to medium for front and back until I understand the car s new movements side to side a bit better. These will challenge the best of tires grip on the road and will make them perform better. Just be careful, the bars are stiff enough to not flex much at all in corners and on slippery surfaces or cheap tires, you ll create a lot of oversteer or understeer depending on your angle of entry. But this is when you are trying to see if the car can take 90 degree urns at 50mph....which no street car can handle. You won t be dissapointed. -- Review submitted: 2012-05-05

OMG this is what the car was meant to be...What a terrific present to myself for hanging in there with the suspension the way it was for 10yrs...I also had no swaybar in the back originally. All I can say is that it is really smooth..roll is almost non-existent...ride is firm but not harsh ..these products & Tirerack have exceeded my expectations -- Review submitted: 2012-04-25

As an avid road racer, I was looking for a track/street part - priority being track performance. The KW V3 suspension has been everything I ve dreamed of and more. The amount of adjustment has been incredible and allows me to set the car easily for different tracks and I can tone it down when I hit the streets. Sadly, I like the crisp suspension so much, I never used the street settings again. :) I have it set up for Sebring currently and the car stays planted on the most uneven expansion joints and, more importantly, Sunset Bend (turn 17) at Sebring. The car is flat and responsive in what is considered one of the most notoriously difficult tracks to figure out with your suspension setup. The V3s allowed me to make hairline adjustments until the car was cleaned up and I could enter the corner confidently at my threshold speed - making them worth every penny. They ride decently on the street, but they re certainly more geared toward track use (why I bought them)than street comfort, which I m fine with. Probably the best feature of the shocks are it s incredible rebound control which allow you to keep the tires on the ground over uneven surfaces. In a nutshell, this system has all the adjustment any track user would want, and they build your confidence because they work so well. Their construction has been flawless for the past 2+ years I ve owned them. I can still get under there and polish them to look brand new and that s pretty darn cool. If you are a track day user, get these. There is a reason why they are so successful in Europe at almost all levels of professional racing - their products are excellent. If you re just looking to lower your car or tell people you have coilovers, don t buy them. These are for serious people and aren t a gimmick like most others. -- Review submitted: 2012-04-09

Nice sway bars, larger than z51 or z06 but not as harsh as T1 s. Did not squeak in bushings. Bend and fit is good on my coupe however did move sideways 2" had to buy bar retainers from McMaster to keep them from shifting and rubbing. Would probobly do PFADT next time. -- Review submitted: 2011-12-06

I installed the SPC camber adjuster bushings specifically to get more negative camber to preserve the outer edges of my Rcomps at track events. With stock bushings I could only get -1.5 degrees front camber and this was not enough for track events. With the SPC bushings I was able to adjust the front to -2.5 degrees camber which has resulted in my Rcomps lasting 10--12 days at the track rather than 6-8 previously. Turn in is improved and understeer is reduced. Surprisingly I noticed very little increase in NVH with these bushings compared to the Rubber OEM ones. While the increased camber is bound to increase inner edge tire wear on my street tires, I really have not noticed anything excessive . I do 3 or 4 track weekends each year and the savings in track tires far outweighs any loss of life in the street tires. If you track your VW or Audi and wear the outer edge of your tires too rapidly, this is a good product. -- Review submitted: 2011-10-23

Being a track capable car my RS4 handled well to start with. However the first track day out I found too much body roll which allowed a little to much front end understeer. This anti roll bar kit has made a huge impact! Little to no understeer and possible to induce oversteer ( with traction control disabled) when desired. I have the rear bar set at max firmness. What is the best about it?

There is very little to no difference in day to day harshness or decreased compliance. Of course there must be some but I have to say I found it hard to note even though I was looking for it. I had a Subaru that was a little too stiff and I did not want to re create that. No problem here. The bars are well matched, get front and rear. Enjoy! -- Review submitted: 2011-05-25

60,000 miles on the anti-roll bars and going strong. I would recommend this upgrade to your vehicle, no matter your driving style. Hotchkis has the very best anti-roll bars you can purchase. Excellent quality, value, and customer service. -- Review submitted: 2011-02-28

I Purchased a set of Hotchkiss Anti-Sway bars and end links. Started out with softest setting, no noticable difference with OEM. Set to stiffest setting slight difference to seat-of-the-pants feel, slightly quicker turn-in response. End links wore out in less than 1-year. Purchased another set of end links installed July 2010 now wore-out after less than 10k miles. Do not be fooled by photos showing grease fittings on the end links, they are not servicable. Grease fittings are provided on the bar mount bushings. Bar mount bushings worn out in two years. The bars have retained their pretty red color. Considering that there is almost no discernable effect on the vehicle s handling and the prospect of spending $189.00 per year on end link replacements my advice would be to not waste money on these Hotchkiss items. -- Review submitted: 2011-02-26

At #7 setting it is tight but not harsh. At #10, it is violent but fun and sharp handling. I m very pleased, better that OEM handling and ride. Instructions were not correct/clear. Front high lowered at least 1.75" not 1.0" which was more than I wanted. Minimum spring seat hight per instructions is 370mm which yields 1.75" lowered which is too much. I cranked it up to 375mm which is beyond Bilstein max but it is too low. That is my only complaint. But the adjustability is great. Worth every penny. -- Review submitted: 2011-02-25

These sway bars have made the ride to and from work extremely enjoyable. My cornering speeds are up approximately 10-12mph on average and the car is super flat now. If you point it that way, thats where its going to go... so be ready! Currently I have the TRD optional 19 inch wheel on the car with 215/35-19 summer tire, not the most optimal for the true handling of this vehicle but never the less, the sway bars add to the fun factor of the drive. I would recommend these to anyone who is interested in "rail" like handling and an amazing improvement over stock. -- Review submitted: 2010-03-29

Cornering is improved. I should have just gotten the front roll bar, since the rear one takes the car out of SCCA solo II stock. -- Review submitted: 2007-08-01
