installed the eibach pro kit and the KYB agx adjustable I bought at Tirerack. I dont know if the springs and shocks where a bad set up or they just don t know, the Vr6 is a heavy motor. the front kept hitting hard to the ground and the back on the most soft setting felt like the back was falling apart. then I installed street line coil overs and it stopped the front from hitting but the back still feels really hard in the city. I think after experiencing 3 suspensions (the other on my 2.0 jetta) I would say go with HR racing springs and Bilsteins Sport racing struts or Bilstein coil overs. dont waste as much money as I have. -- Review submitted: 2013-11-03

The KYB AGX rear dampers have 9 or 10 settings and can be tailored nicely for road or track. The KYB AGX front campers have just four settings; firm, extra firm, stupidly firm, and lock-out (100% damping). This might be great for a 100% autocross or track car, but is too much for street use. I could have used two more softer settings. -- Review submitted: 2012-11-15

Replaced sti springs and shocks , ride is better, corners flat, less bouncy. Overall satisfied. Added the Kyb tops and kartboy front endlinks (comes with rear end links, get the spacers if using kartboy s for the front). Have the shocks set at "2" front and rear. Haven t tried other settings. Note you have to remove rear seat to adjust rear shocks on sedan. Excellent for fast daily driver. -- Review submitted: 2012-09-03

Overall, a greate shock for the price. Unfortunately, after 15000 miles (20 months) one of the rear shocks is blown. Running stock springs and ride height, so only the shock is to blame. I will replace the blown shock, but will not be my first choice when replacing all four. Follow-up research shows others have had problems with the rear shocks. I haven t contacted Tire Rack yet, but will see if they offer any solution. Car is only driven for fun on public roads, no track time. Yet! -- Review submitted: 2012-01-19

I drove my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix for 9 years and 33,000 miles with what I thought was a suspension that was basically poorly designed and could not handle large deviations in the road surface well. I tried to get Pontiac to look at and fix the proglem while the car was still under warrenty but they said it was performing within normal limits and would do nothing to help me. Because I liked everthing else about the car and honestly did not have the money to simply go out and replace the car I kept and drove my Grand Prix all those years. Finally last year rather than spend the money to buy a new car I decided to try replacing the struts (and all associated mounting parts as well). I chose KYB adjustable struts thinking they would give me a chance to firm up the settings if I did not like the base, softest, setting. As a side note I had previously replaced the stock rear anti-sway bar with a stiffer one offered by GM performance parts. It really tightened up the cornering of the car with absolutly no added ride harshness. Another side note is that I also tried putting a very stiff GM replacement sway bar on but with terrible results. I took it off the next day and put the stock front bar back on. OK now back to the KYB struts. I am about as close to heaven as I can get with the ride and handling improvement offered by the KYB adjustables. I hated the ride of my Grand Prix before putting the KYBs on but not absolutly love it. The same KYB adjustable struts that fit my Grand Prix also fit a bunch of other similar bodies. If you have any problems with the ride or handling of one of these vehicles my recommendation is to run don t walk to the tire rack and order a set of KYB adjustable struts today. If you like a car with a well controlled suspension and good ride quality to boot you will not be disapointed. -- Review submitted: 2011-07-11

the KYB AGXs are pretty descent struts for the price you shell out. combined with lowering springs and front and rear strut bars, there''s improvement in the car''s handling. I have the fronts set at 3 and the rears fixed at 6 and this setting gives the car the balance in twisty and straights, highway and city. this is a daily driven car and I get compliments on how good the car handles... and by the way, I''m using stock 13inch steelies with michelin tires. -- Review submitted: 2010-02-03

well I just installed my AGX struts today and I must say I am quite impressed with the ride control and firmness these struts have to offer. I didn''t think they would be noticable at all but I was wrong. They are definitly an item I would buy again for any cars I would purchase in the future. Great item, great price couldn''t ask for more. Thanks KYB and Tire Rack. -- Review submitted: 2009-11-30

Built the AGXs into custom coilovers for a weekend autocrosser and weekday commuter. Front units have held up very well, but over two different sets, 3 of the 4 rears developed leaks. The car is dropped less than an inch in the rear and this is well within the range of normal use. I''ve since replaced them. Based on value, I''d rate a 9 if they''d hold up. -- Review submitted: 2009-11-23

Had to purchse 2 sets of Eibach springs because they keep sagging within 6 months time. Add the pain of having to replace struts and a few tires when the springs sagged (one goes, so do all other components). All work, alignment, and labor were done by legitimate installation shops. I contacted Eibach about their "Lifetime Warrarnty" and they claimed my springs must not have been installed correctly and not valid for replacement. I''ve since gone back to the Stock springs. I still trying to sort all this out. SAVE YOUR MONEY! -- Review submitted: 2009-11-09

new wheels and tires 17" with 42mm offset and p205/45r17 tire

left side unloaded was about 1/2" inch lower now after about 2 months and approx 1500 miles the spring has settled so much a little bump causes the shock to bottom out. also bottoms out under a very heavy loaded turn, not good for autocross contacted the tech line not much help

the kyb are set at 4 (max) in front and 7 (out of 8)

set alignment at -1.3 in front and -1.0 in rear

will strip these off and install h and r springs. not happy these springs. -- Review submitted: 2009-05-25

Used with stock suspension springs which are a bit weak because of car age, handles great and not too stiff. I''m thinking getting these stronger shocks would help compensate for worn springs, hope it works, so far so good. -- Review submitted: 2009-04-22

This review is for the AGX shocks. These shocks are great, especially for the money. These shocks have been on the car for a while, since before a lot of other suspension components went on. Just swapping these shocks made the car a different animal. It was much easier to control, and cornered better, and can be adjusted for the drag strip. Since then I''ve pretty much completely overhauled the suspension (lower control arms, panhard bar, torque arm, subframe connectors, chromoly sway bars, upper and lower control arms in the front, poly bushings, etc.) and these shocks have been more than capable of keeping up. These are a great choice for someone who can''t or doesn''t want to spend the money on Koni''s, but still wants comparable performance. -- Review submitted: 2009-03-31

Have a nice aggressive drop and ride quality that brings out the potential of the car''s handling characteristic. These springs combined with the KYB AGX are not for everyone who just look for dropped appearance of their car. Pretty good combination for an Alero. With the struts on 2, it can get kind of bouncy sometimes, but 4 is a really good setting with this combo, although I''ve heard that leaving them on 4 can shorten their life. Handling became really good overall but can crash over roads with lots of potholes. -- Review submitted: 2008-11-12

These shocks were not as good as the originals at 90K+ miles. On stiffest setting they are stiff for the first 1" of travel, then become super soft (noticeable on large bumps or hard braking). On the lowest 4 settings the car was actually unpredictable and even unsafe on medium and hard turns. Also, on hard bumps on the interstate (traveling 70 - 80mph over construction, expansion joints in bridges, or other big dips) the shocks will bottom out! On the stiffest setting over a long bridge expect moderate to large amounts of bounce front to back (and my car is not lowered by the way). Spend the extra money and get Bilstein. That''s what I plan on doing now. I will never buy AGX adjustable shocks again nor will I recommend them. -- Review submitted: 2008-09-01

AGX shocks provided me the ability to adjust the damping of my suspension and I felt a difference between settings on the AutoX track. It truly is possible to dial in oversteer/dial out understeer using the settings on these shocks. They can be used with any stock springs as well but a lower/stiffer spring will improve the handling of the car. I have been happy with my AGXs coupled with Tanabe GF210 springs, STI top hats and a WRX 20mm rear sway bar. If I could do it all over I would look harder at the Tokico D-specs but all things considered I know the AGX damper will satisfy any purchaser. At the softest setting they provide a comfortable daily ride and the hardest is good for anything you can do at a track. -- Review submitted: 2008-07-22

The description says these are supposed to lower your car 1.4 inches. Rather instead these lower your car 2-2.5 inches. For anybody with a 200sx/sentra, these sit almost as low as the sportlines, and the sportlines ride like crap for these cars. THere is a maybe 20% improvement over the sportlies because the rears sit .25 higher then the sportlines.

Very good bang for the buck. On another race Subaru we had the DMS coilovers. While they were great, we had over $3,000 in the suspension. Great sport shocks. Have a good amount of suspension work done and they can keep up. For the track I would get something firmer but for most cornering the maximum settings are good. I replaced my rear struts in my SE-R a few days after I bought it, with AGX s, and I am truly amazed. I push that car through corners, off/onramps, and curves hard, and there is a very noticible difference with these struts, at all stages of cornering. I have them dialed at 5 right now, but with hyperco springs, and front AGX s coming soon, I ll have them all the way up. I was very suprised at the ride quality too. I would definitely recommend these to someone who is serious about really pushing their vehicle, for competition, or daily driving. -- Review submitted: 2007-04-27

I recently started club racing again, so I found the need to upgrade my suspension. I had installed all of the other suspension componants before I purchaced the AGX shocks, so I was able to tell the huge difference that they made. These aren t just for the import guys! My car weighs in at 3700lbs. so throwing it into a turn produces a lot of weight transfer. I have almost zero dive into the turns now. It may take a little time to tune these shocks to your driving style, but once they are right, these are the best shocks you can get for the money. -- Review submitted: 2006-12-16

The KYB AGX Series shocks/struts are amazing. Adjustments are easy and you can feel the difference. My struts are matted to a set of skunk2 coilovers; all tied up with a neuspeed (f) strut tower bar and a skunk2 lower arm bar. All these components are rolling on Toyo Proxes FZ4. Cornering in this little hatch is ridiculous, almost addictive. The car is very responsive to say the least. City driving is set to 1(f) 2(r), moutain crossing 4(f) 3(r). -- Review submitted: 2006-12-09

Stock setup was 11/10 on the mushy scale! Now ride on stock springs, 17" wheels, ST sway bars ("soft" position), Energy bushing set, and AGX set at front 1 and rear 2, great handling on the street without kidney smashing ride, able to drive on long trip. Thicker sway bars hold the turns on the canyon roads. Weekend Auto-cross setting front 3/4 and rear 4, rear sway on 2nd position ("stiff"), gives a rock solid ride. Highly recommended for the "rest of us" daily drivers. -- Review submitted: 2006-11-16

Struts could use a little more rebound dampening control on lower settings (likely contributing to the “bounce” which can be a little irritating). Car is lowered modestly (not slammed) utilizing threaded collars and 400# front and 350# Rear springs, stock front anti-roll bar and aftermarket rear anti-roll bar. Wheels are 15”x7 with 195-50-15 tires. Car handling and control is very good. One significant concern is that 3 of 4 struts have now failed in 50,000 miles. I’m not sure if my configuration contributed to the failures but I will be replacing all 4 shortly. (Failure modes appear to be numerous random chunks of metal “missing” (not what I would consider galling) from piston allowing oil / gas to pass seal) -- Review submitted: 2006-09-27

I didn t realize how worn my stock shocks were. When I first installed the AGX s I set them to 2 front, 4 rear and felt they were a little too firm. So I set them to 1/2 to mach the original stock ride. They felt fine. After a week or so of getting used to dampers that worked I went back to the 2/4 setting. This has cut 3 minutes off my daily commute each day on the back road portion. I carry a lot more corner speed now and it doesn t feel "too firm". Very pleased with this purchase because I hope to drive this car another 80,000 miles. -- Review submitted: 2006-07-19

Absolutly awesome in combination with KYB AGX struds. It s the biggest improvement I ve ever done to my car. The ride quality has Improved dramaticaly. THe combination of this springs and agjustable sport struds provides unlimited flexabelety. You can adjust the settings from focuses naturaly soft to to almost go cart. I ve never had so much fun driving my car. I ve noticed that now I likely take twisty back roads rather than taking highway. The drope matched my expectations providing better visual appearence as well. Great product. Strongly recomend in combination with KYB AGX. -- Review submitted: 2006-05-04

These are great shocks for everyday driving. They give you the option for the ride quality you want by turning a dial. On the stock settings they offer a firm but not harsh ride. The control ofthe vehicle is definitely better. -- Review submitted: 2006-04-05

Got the car lowered, new brake kit and new rims/tires at the same time. I must say that the spring/strut combo is sweet! I have kuhmo 18 s and the lowering of 1.4" is damn near perfect! As most of us know, the Acura CL has a normally "too-soft" ride, that has indeed changed....not too much though, it s definitely stiffer and responds much better. I bought this car new in 97 and it s been pampered all of it s life...with the new suspension/brakes/tire-wheel..it feels like brand new..but sportier. It doesn t even need an alignment kit..according to the shop that did the alignment. If you re looking for springs get Eibach!!! -- Review submitted: 2006-03-02

KYB AGX 4-way adjustables on the 00 miata with stock springs is the way to drive a miata in all situations. I frequent the mountains of NC and TN - especially Deals Gap (google it) and love this setup. There are some roads you just could not pass with lowered springs!!! Keep this in mind as the Miata is already low (too low for some speed bumps), I can t imagine running an inch or so lower I d never make it thru the "state roads" in the mountains that are often unpaved. Yeah it d look cool, but how cool would you feel stuck on a rock 40 miles from anything with no cell service! or worse a cracked oil pan or tranny housing... The agx s make a HUGE difference in the miata - it s great, the car is stable at high speeds and corners like a dream. Nose lift and drop is no longer noticeable, I run the AGX s set to 3 up front and 2 in the rear when driving hard (mountian/country roads) and I run 1 up front and 2 in the rear for normal highway driving (believe me you don t want to drive 6 hrs in this car with 3-front/2-rear). I love the flexibility of the AGX, it s easy to change the settings and when paired with OE springs it still gives you more handling than you may need. I can take ANY turn at double the reccomended speed in the Miata without braking and without leaving rubber behind (although it s more fun to leave a bit o rubber on the road). FYI I run the miata with Toyo T1S 215/45/15 s this is a special size (if you have 15" rims you should seriouly look into this) also Dunlop Direzza dz101 s but they don t have that size. I also installed KYB Gr2 s in my GF s 95 corolla wagon (which now handles like a new car) and my father s 95 Jetta commuter which now takes exit ramps about 20mph faster. KYB is an excelent product and is known/respected world wide, you can t go wrong with AGX s :-) -- Review submitted: 2005-12-27

The adjustable KYB AGX struts along with my Ground control coilovers w/ Eibach springs makes my 93 Accord respond tremendously when I m racing on the interstate...Most sharp curves on country roads are now taken with 20mph more and no braking thru the bends...I ve tested this suspension with various conditions....Extreme braking, turning, and cuttin thru the slow traffic on the interstate...For me and my car, my best investment with Ground Control Coilovers, with KYB AGX adjustable struts, has made my daily commute reassuring, fun, and I look forward to making speedy corners without screeching tires or loosing traction!!! It was my best investment in suspension. :-) -- Review submitted: 2005-10-11

After installing the KYB gasajust struts the overall ride was extremely harsh (felt every bump, seam in the road) with the front and rear settings at the medium setting.Have settings on lowest position for an acceptable ride. Handling greatly improved as well as the front end lifting and rear end squatting when hard shifting.Overall a big improvement over the stock struts, too harsh a ride on higher settings. -- Review submitted: 2005-10-09

The H&R Sport Springs with the KYB AGX adjustable shocks on my 1995 Honda Civic Coupe look great. The car handles superb with a significant decrease in body roll. The down side is the ride quality, the car is very bouncy and you feel every bump. I m still testing out the 4 different settings to find out which setting suits me. No.2 felt extremely bouncy so I adjusted it to No.3 and ride is a little firmer. I found out that I need to get wheel spacers because of the almost two inch drop in the front of the car over my 16" inch wheels. When I lock the steering wheel all the way to the left or the right the tire rubs against the inside of the wheel well. Overall an exceptional product but if you can t handle a harsh ride I wouldn t recommend it. -- Review submitted: 2005-04-29

I had the car for 11 yrs. 6yrs ago the car was setup with Tokico struts & Eibach ProKit. The ride was very hash & stiff. Unacceptable ride with full load of passengers (ranked 5/10). The ride bounced all over on a little rough surface road. I switched back with OE struts & springs. I just replaced it with KYB AGX & H&R sport springs. The ride is firm but not hash with dialing 1 in front & 5 rear. Thinking of the ride is similar to an older 91-95 Toyota 4WD but with better cornering.

One with this struts/springs setup is likely to drive fast. I am happy with the KYB AGX and H&R springs. Although the Eibach spring will give you a better lower looks. -- Review submitted: 2005-02-14

WOW, hang on to your behind! You might break a bone with this setup! My 1st GSX had a similar setup (Sportline springs and KYB GR2 shocks) and was very impressive. However, I wanted to upgrade to the AGX shocks for the new car. This is a LETHAL combination! I could easily take the car to a track and run great times due to this suspensions ability to run stiff. Go for a drive on a local street with a similar setup and you will find you left your kidneys at the last pothole or road seam. Buy this setup for the track or Auto X - turn it ALL THE WAY DOWN for the street on a 90-94 AWD TSi or GSX. -- Review submitted: 2004-11-23

I had another 95 Maxima with Eibach Pro Kit and KYB AGXs. The Eibachs and H&Rs are rated for the same drop, but the Eibachs dropped my first Maxima considerably lower. The H&Rs didn t lower my new Maxima much at all. Although the Eibachs have better performance at 10/10ths driving, the ride of the H&Rs is much, much better than the Eibachs, so my current setup is better for a daily driver. I was happy with the AGXs before, and I m just as happy now. Running the fronts at 1 and the rears at 6 helps dial out the inherent understeer. -- Review submitted: 2004-10-22

KYB AGX s are for a car that sees roads like glass. These shocks/struts let you feel every bump and crack in the road. I have noticed more rattles in the interior of the car because of the harsh ride. It is a little too stiff of a setup for an everyday driver. But for the autocross enthusiast or weekend driver, this setup can t be beat. The adjustability of the firmness is great. Couple these shocks/struts with a nice set of sport springs and your car will feel like an animal. Great handling and stability!!! -- Review submitted: 2004-07-29

I love these springs and struts. A bit pricy but its a different car now. Double posted speed limits at the local mountain road every weekend. But a speed bump or driveway can ruin your day. And dont drive on the 91, it ll die. Highly reccomend eibach and the AGX. -- Review submitted: 2004-06-21

Overall, handling and response are very good. The ride is firm, but not a problem except on excessively potholed roads. I get a lot of gasps from other people when I take corners at what I think is a reasonable speed, since they are not used to going nearly so fast. My only complaint is that the pro-kits drop the car evenly at all 4 corners, resulting in the front end looking higher than the rear. This is due to the fact that the wheel wells on the front are cut differently than the rear ones on the Integra, and shouldn''t be a problem for other cars. -- Review submitted: 2003-08-13

I actually purchased my Springs elsewhere, but very pleased with them, it is just that it didn''t lower the front end of the car quite as much as it did the rear. I purchased the shocks through you, TireRack, and am very pleased, couldn''''t have asked for better! Thank you very much, it is greatly appreciated! -- Review submitted: 2002-10-23

The springs and struts came up to my expectations it transformed the car into a compitant track car. The springs lowered the car more than expected and maybe too much for everyday driving. The shocks have a tendency to bottom out on moderate potholes and road bumps. The ride was firmed up condsiderably, but still not too much for my tastes. I would still recommend this set-up to anyone, but you may need to install spring spacers for the older SE-R''s for everyday road driving. -- Review submitted: 2002-10-11

Because of the 2.5"F/2.25"R lower ride height, the

AGX shocks are set to 4 (max) on front & rear to limit shock travel. A setting of 3 was tried on the front and gave a somewhat smoother ride at the expense of increasing body roll in turns. The slight decrease in ride quality was determined to be an acceptable sacrifice for the increased cornering capability, so the adjustment was moved back to 4. -- Review submitted: 2002-06-28

My Maxima handles like a 2-door coupe even though it has a 4-door body. The suspension, which includes KYB AGX all around and Eibach springs is very sporty and responds extremely well in corners for such a heavy car. Even with the lowering springs, I did not need a camber kit and the aligment is great while my low profile tires (225/45/17ZR) are wearing out evenly. Thanks for everything! I''m a sure customer. -- Review submitted: 2002-06-26

I recently replaced Tokico non-adj. with the AGX struts (Pro-Kit springs in the car before and after). The AGX struts seem to control the wheels much better and the car bottoms less over hard bumps (potholes, etc.) The adjustability is nice, as I was able to dial in good comprimise between handling and comfort. The car feels very taught with the AGX and steering response is very good. -- Review submitted: 2002-05-22

The Eibach Pro kit is a very good spring kit, slight drop, agressive stance, combined with the KYB AGX''s its an outstanding improvement for under $1000.00

I bought the KYB AGX struts for my ''91 MR2 Turbo with a "plus two" tire/wheel purchase (from 14" to 16"). I didn''''t purchase springs because I didn''t want to lower my car to less than the 4 1/2 inches of clearance I currently have.

The shocks have four settings. On setting one, the car rides like stock. On setting two, the car rides stiffer than stock and with better performance without too much bounce. Setting three is very stiff. On this setting, the car undulates back and forth, and wanders on roads that are anything but flat. Setting four transfers the every rock and bump in the road to the driver.

On my car, setting 2 is best for all around "spirited" driving. Setting three is good when the car is at constant high speed, because of the extra downforce on the car.

My only complaint is that the adjustment knobs do not firmly attach to the top of the rear strut. They sometimes fall off. -- Review submitted: 2002-04-19

Overall I am more than happy with the results I got from the H&R Sport Springs and the KYB-AGX struts. The ride and handling is far superior to stock. The only thing I am not totally satisfied with are the strut bearings that came with the strut mounts I ordered from KYB. They seem to make noise and I will probably change them for OE units (I did all the work myself so I know this wont be too difficult) but since I didn''''''''t pay anything additional I''''m not too disappointed. -- Review submitted: 2002-02-11
