I have a separate race Subaru if I want to go canyon carving. I want to firm up the Outback so it didn t sway as much in transitions from corner to corner and just stiffen the shocks a little. The KYB Excel Gs filled the bill. -- Review submitted: 2012-08-01

The rear dampers were replaced when one of the original set blew out violently (all over the ground). The front were fine, so I opted to just replace the rears. Worked to alleviate the leak. Didn t really improve the ride much. I was hoping the ride would be more taught. May have been because the front were still worn. Knowing that now, I would have done all four at once. Just did the front with another set of the GR-2 s. If the ride isn t better over lumpy back roads, I ll know to upgrade to a firmer set next time. -- Review submitted: 2012-06-23

I put the KYBs on with some moderate lowering springs (Vogtland)and things were great for a few months. Then the shocks gave out. I don t think these are good for lowering, they are just not heavy duty enough. Ride now is bouncy and difficult to control. These may well be a good OE replacement, but would not use again for lowering. You live & you learn...just wish it were cheaper to do so. -- Review submitted: 2012-06-07

Installed two front KYB GR-2 struts(OEM). Fit was factory spot on. Took me 45 minutes per side with no problems. The old Honda factory ones were shot. The ride and handling was an improvement. Will do the rear ones in six months. Remember to have the alignment done. These struts are better thenthe OEM IMO. Will order again from Tire rack for sure.. -- Review submitted: 2012-03-18

I bought the car and there was an easy six inches between the tire and fender. After installing the springs and struts there is just enough room for my fingers to fit between them. Large bumps hit fairly hard, but not terrible. Under normal driving conditions I can t even tell the difference, but as soon as I dive into a turn and roll on the throttle through the exit I know instantly it was money well spent. -- Review submitted: 2012-03-15
