This suspension has completely transformed this car. The ride quality and handling characteristics are honeslty not what I expected. It is substantially better! This is my second favorite modification I have made to this car net to the M56 manual transmission swap. This car is very comfortable as a highway cruiser to and from work, but then transforms into a canyon carver for my weekend enjoyment. Highly recommend this suspension. -- Review submitted: 2012-12-14

We installed the lowering kit based on TireRack recommendations. Eibach springs work wonderfully. FSD shocks are the worst ever. Talking to local VW fans, the say never put FSDs on a lowered car. Soft at first, transition to medium/hard will knock your teeth out. Track performance is OK if you have no bumps. Very unsettled in bumpy corners. Would get the springs and pop for the Koni yellows. Would return the shocks if I could...... -- Review submitted: 2012-11-18

all i have to say is wow, this set completely changed the way my car looks feels and performs. It eats corners like a mad cat digs in with here claws into the carpet. Also would suggest to reinforce your unibody with all the reinforment kits for front and rear, specifically the rear sub-frame and you should be good. I had premium suspension with 128k on it and it was pretty forgiving to a point that now the car feel like a go cart and it feel very odd but i would never regret the decision. Remember that this suspension is bi-polar(in a good way), if you want to drive aggressive, then it stiffences up and gets to work, but when you relax and just want to cruise it adjusts to that as well. Also, once the car is lowered you would need to get spaces to get the looks right. Koni s instruction sucks though, look it up on forums for proper installation. Get them! -- Review submitted: 2012-09-14

In Nj we have rotten roads and these Koni shocks smooth out the bumps, BUT give nice stable cornering. They dont lower the car...took out an oil pan with another Rabbit and lowering springs so I don t have to worry anymore. Great choice for smoothride and great handling without rockhaqrd suspension. -- Review submitted: 2012-05-26

Purchased these to replace a set of h&r springs on stock dampners that had been on the merc for at for at least 70k. The previous suspensions ride had become crashy with poor bound response. The first thing that I noticed about the koni fsds were the lack of useful instructions. There were six or seven slips of paper inside all ref the front stuts and nothing for the rears. So if you are looking at this kits as a DIY job be for warned that recommended torque settings for the rears are not provided. Also note that you will have to reuse some of your old strut hardware so before you start it may be worthwhile to visit the dealer parts department . The kit fit well with the exception of the front sway bar droplink mount on the strut body which required drilling. With the kit installed I noticed no squeaks rattles or clangs. As far as ride quality is concerned I feel like the spring set is too soft. Keep in mind that I was use to h&r springs with a dramatic drop. The kit seems to allow more body roll than the h&rs. But the car now takes bumps with aplomb, making for a really comfortable ride.I would recommend this kit to someone looking for a slight drop, good ride quality, and a less than hardcore approach to driving. Ideally I would like to have had stiffer springs but will gladly accept the payoff in better ride comfort. -- Review submitted: 2012-05-26

Instant improvement. You will feel the difference as you take your first hard turn. Compared to the stock suspension, it offers the same comfort. My passengers think this was stock and complimented how the turns were so sharp and precise. I have a new appreciation for non-linear dampers. -- Review submitted: 2012-05-24

Koni FSD - a subtle but noticeable improvement - greater cornering & breaking stability - expensive but worth considering if you do a heavy milage. I am surprised they are not more often fitted - a nice way to upgrade a car without the cost of replacing it. -- Review submitted: 2011-12-21

We purchased only the struts and NOT the lowered springs (as someone who has driven lowered cars, I don t think the tradeoffs are worth it unless you were autocrossing or doing track days). These shocks give near flat cornering while maintaining a resilient ride given these cars don t have that much wheel travel. As this vehicle is approaching 90,000 miles, even with the Koni FSD struts, the car is a little looser than I prefer. If you are going down the same path on a high mileage Mazda3, I recommend considering freshening up the springs and appropriate bushings. -- Review submitted: 2011-10-24

The car handles extremely well. It no longer lifts on acceleration, the car just squats and takes off. entering turns at speed and accelerating out of a corner feels excellent as the traction control makes gentle adjustments exciting turns. I couldn t ask for more. -- Review submitted: 2011-08-15

These shocks and struts are a night and day difference to my OEM setup which was the Volvo "Dynamic" version. I have a 2005 S40 T5 FWD and at 90,000 miles it was crashing about over expansion joints and potholes. On hard acceleration, the front end would hop and chatter. I had the Koni FSD suspension installed 3 days ago and couldn t believe how great it felt. Expansion joints and rough roads are seriously muted into dull thumps instead of loud thuds. I ve noticed I can accelerate hard without a hint of wheel hop and both braking and cornering are improved. My car now drives the way I always wanted it to and these shocks/struts cost significantly less than the OEM replacements. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for for a slightly sporty shock with excellent ride comfort and good handling. -- Review submitted: 2011-05-04

Had the stock shocks on my BMW 335i convertible with sports package. It always has handled beautifully, but my young daughter found the ride so rough that she avoided riding in it. After installing the FSDs, the rids was much smoother, the handling was essentially unchained, maybe even a little sharper. My daughter, who did not know I had changed the shocks, noticed the change immediately. "Daddy, what s happened to the car? It so much nicer to ride in. " No kidding, she actually said that! Worth every penny. -- Review submitted: 2011-03-06

Great product. I loved the handling of the Sport package on my 05 330i, but driving it on the cracked, potholed city streets of New England was taking its toll on me, so I replaced just the shocks, and what a difference from day 1. They took the edge off the rough roads, while still maintaining firm response in turns and quick lane changes. No difference in ride height. Recommended them to a coworker and he loves them too.

After 6 years of use, one of them makes a slight squeak, but it s very faint and only audible if you drive over a bump and have the window open.

Definitely will buy another set when I trade it in in the next couple years. Just hope they make them for the next generation 3 series. -- Review submitted: 2011-02-04

First of all I must say that overall, pairing of the components (Koni FSD and Eibach springs) is great. The car handles very well through high speed (120 mph) cornering and low speed 90 degrees corners. On city streets (NYC) it handles the bumps better than my stock suspension. However, I am very very disappointed with the vehicle high; it is exactly the same height as the stock spring and has a huge gap in the fender. I definitely would not purchase these springs again for the simple fact that it didnít lower the car one bit. Eibach claims 1 Ė 1/12Ē lowering which I donít see even after sagging if there is such a thing. -- Review submitted: 2008-05-21

Koni s have tranformed this vehicle inside out, The brakes, the steerings, the dive, the squat, trail braking, Tire contact patch, and lots more have all been advanced just from 1 mod. Koni s have been the most satisfing mod I have ever done to this car. The M3 doesnt like bumpy roads, but which sports car does? Lets just see if they hold up over the years. -- Review submitted: 2007-11-02
