The CR227 is a Grand Touring Summer tire member of AVON Tyres'''' family of Original Equipment tires. The CR227 is designed to bestow comfort and confidence to the drivers of Rolls Royce and Bentley prestige sedans by providing directional stability and positive steering response in dry and wet road conditions. The CR227 is not intended to be driven in near freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
On the outside, the CR227 features a summer tread compound molded into a six- or seven-rib symmetric tread design (depending on tire size) to provide traction, steering response and cornering stability. The tread designs were tuned to minimize road/tire noise and maximize ride comfort. The location of the wide circumferential grooves blends dry road performance with wet weather traction.
On the inside, the CR227 features twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon that helps resist distortion at high speeds and while cornering, along with a rayon cord casing that enhances ride comfort.

La construcción externa, del CR227, presenta una mezcla de caucho moldeada en un diseño simétrico, con seis o sietes segmentos dependiendo del tamaño; para proveer tracción, respuesta rápida al girar el volante y estabilidad en las curvas. El diseño de la banda de rodadura, minimiza el ruido creado por el contacto con la carretera y aumenta el confort del andar. La ubicación de los amplios canales circunferenciales combina rendimiento sobre carreteras secas, con tracción sobre mojadas.
Internamente, el CR227, posee correas gemelas de acero reforzadas con nailon envuelto en espiral, para ayudar a resistir la distorsión encontrada a velocidades elevadas o al tomar curvas. Cordón de rayón en el armazón aumenta el confort.
