The 4x4 SportContact is Continental Tire's Street/Sport Truck Summer tire designed to offer ultra high performance tire capabilities to the drivers of performance pickups and sport utility vehicles. Used as Original Equipment on the Porsche Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo, the 4x4 SportContact is designed to combine the tread design of Continental's original ContiSportContact Ultra High Performance Summer tire with the large rim diameter sizes appropriate for light trucks. The 4x4 SportContact is not intended to be driven in snow.
The 4x4 SportContact features an asymmetric tread design with large outer shoulder blocks to enhance cornering stability and control. A continuous center rib enhances steering response and high-speed stability while wide circumferential and lateral grooves channel water to enhance wet traction and reduce the possibility of hydroplaning. The tire's structure includes two steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped polyamide over a rayon cord casing to enhance handling and high-speed capability.

Este neumático es utilizado como “equipo original de fabrica” para el Porsche Cayenne S y Cayenne Turbo y fue diseñado para combinar el diseño de la banda de rodamiento del ContiSportContact de Ultra Alto Rendimiento Para Verano, con aros o rines con diámetros grandes utilizados en las camionetas. Como todo neumático de verano no fue diseñado para ser utilizado en temperaturas cercanas al nivel de congelación o superficies con hielo o nieve.
El 4x4 SportContact posee una banda de rodadura con diseño asimétrico con bloques largos en los hombros que aumentan la estabilidad y el control en las curvas. Un segmento continuo central provee una respuesta más rápida al cambio de dirección y ofrece mayor estabilidad a velocidades elevadas, mientras que, canales circunferenciales anchos y ranuras laterales evacuan el agua y proporcionan más tracción sobre superficie mojada. Estos, también aumentan la resistencia el deslizamiento en agua (hydroplaning).
Su construcción interna utiliza dos correas de acero reforzadas con poliamida envuelto en espiral arriba de un cordón de rayón del armazón, esto aumenta la maniobrabilidad y la capacidad del neumático a velocidades elevadas.
