The 4x4 WinterContact is Continental's Light Truck/SUV Performance Winter tire designed to combine good snow and ice traction with "European" high-speed winter driving performance. The 4x4 WinterContact tire is for the drivers of performance sport utility vehicles who require winter driving traction on dry, wet and snow-covered roads.
The 4x4 WinterContact tire molds an advanced silica tread compound into an asymmetric tread design that features broad, rounded outer shoulder blocks to enhance dry road handling performance. These features are combined with intermediate tread blocks separated by wide circumferential and lateral grooves to enhance wet road traction and hydroplaning resistance. The tread blocks also feature progressive sipes to provide the multiple biting edges necessary to enhance snow and ice traction without resorting to traditional metal studs.
Continental 4x4 WinterContact performance winter tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the snowflake-on-the-mountain symbol.
Install 4x4 WinterContact tires in sets of four only.
Due to the traction capabilities of the 4x4 WinterContact, Continental recommends using 4x4 WinterContact tires only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.
El neumático 4x4 WinterContact de Continental pertenece al segmento de neumáticos de Invierno Para Camiones Livianos y fue diseñado para combinar buena tracción durante el invierno, con capacidad de andar a velocidad elevada al estilo “europeo”, durante esta temporada. Este neumático, fue desarrollado para vehículos utilitarios deportivos de rendimiento y ofrecer a sus conductores, tracción durante el invierno sobre superficies secas, mojadas o cubiertas con nieve.
El 4x4 WinterContact posee un mezcla de caucho avanzada que contiene sílice, la cual, es moldeada en un diseño asimétrico en la banda de rodadura, la misma, cuenta con bloques anchos y redondos en los hombros; estos, aumentan la maniobrabilidad y el rendimiento sobre carreteras con superficies secas. Segmentos intermedios de bloques separados por anchos canales circunferenciales y ranuras laterales, aumentan la tracción sobre mojado y la resistencia al deslizamiento en agua (hydroplaning). Pequeñas ranuras sobre las superficies de los bloques aumentan la cantidad de bordes adherentes, para aumentar la tracción sobre hielo y nieve, sin la necesidad de pernos.
El 4x4 WinterContact satisface los requisitos severos de la industria en relación a la nieve, por esta razón, posee el símbolo “copo de nieve sobre la montaña” (snowflake-on-the-mountain).
