The Enasave 01 A/S (Energy saver) is Dunlop’s eco-friendly Grand Touring All-Season tire developed as Original Equipment for the Mitsubishi i MiEV (Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle) city car. In order to match the Mitsubishi i’s high-tech all-electric drive train (no gas tank, no exhaust system and no CO2 vehicle emissions), the Enasave 01 A/S is designed to combine high environmental performance, a quiet ride and year-round traction, including in light snow.
The Enasave 01 A/S features a low rolling resistance tread compound molded into a symmetric design that provides uniform footprint pressure to promote traction while reducing tire energy loss. Independent tread and shoulder blocks bordered by circumferential and lateral grooves blend dry road and wet road capabilities, while strategically placed sipes add extra biting edges to promote snow traction. The tires internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped polyamide on top of a polyester cord casing.

El neumático Enasave 01 A/S de Dunlop en un neumático amigable al medioambiente perteneciente a la categoría: Gran Turismo Para Toda Estación. Fue desarrollado originalmente (O.E., por sus siglas en inglés) para su uso en el Mitsubishi i MiEV (Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle), un auto de manejo en ciudades. Para acoplarse a la alta tecnología de un tren de potencia completamente eléctrico (sin tanque de gasolina, sistema de escape y emisiones CO2), el Enasave 01 A/S se diseño combinando un rendimiento alto con respecto al medioambiente, un andar tranquilo y tracción durante todas las estacones del año, inclusive en superficies con poca nieve.
El Enasave 01 A/S posee un compuesto de caucho de poca resistencia al rodar, que es moldeado en una banda de rodamiento con diseño simétrico, para obtener una presión uniforme de la huella que mejora la tracción, al mismo tiempo de reducir la perdida de energía. Segmentos independientes y tacos o bloques en los hombros limitados por ranuras laterales y circunferenciales, combinan capacidades para un manejo sobre carreteras secas y mojadas. Pequeñas ranuras sobre los bloques han sido ubicadas estratégicamente, para añadir más bordes adherentes necesarios para obtener tracción sobre nieve.
La estructura interna posee correas de acero gemelas reforzadas con poliamida envuelto en espiral sobre un armazón de cordón de poliéster.
