Dunlop's SP Sport 01 and SP Sport 01A tires are Ultra High Performance Summer tires for sports cars, coupes and sedans. Dunlop's SP Sport 01 tires were designed to be multi-talented tires and were initially developed for Original Equipment use by leading automotive manufacturers to complement the latest in vehicle design and construction. SP Sport 01 and SP Sport 01A tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
On the outside, the Dunlop SP Sport 01 features a 100% Silica tread compound that increases dry and wet grip while reducing rolling resistance and increasing treadwear. The tread compound is molded into an asymmetric Tri-Area-Tread design that is divided into three tread segments to unite the aspects of smooth running, sportiness and safety. On the inside, the SP Sport 01 features twin steel belts reinforced by Dunlop's Jointless Band (JLB) spiral wrapped nylon to provide high speed durability while minimizing weight. The tires feature a rayon cord reinforced casing to enhance ride quality and an aramid reinforced bead to ensure tight and secure fit of the tire on the rim.
Dunlop SP Sport 01 tires feature an attractive graphic sidewall design of smooth black letters reversed out of a serrated band and include a rim protector rib on all sizes to help protect wheels.

El SP Sport 01, fue diseñado para ser un neumático de talentos múltiples y ser utilizado como, Equipo Original, en autos fabricados por los líderes de la industria, para complementar sus últimos modelos. Como todo neumático de verano el SP Sport 01 y el Sport 01A, no fueron fabricados para utilizar en temperaturas cercanas al nivel de congelación, hielo o nieve.
Su construcción externa, utiliza una mezcla 100 % sílice que aumenta el agarre en seco y mojado, a la vez que, reduce la resistencia al rodar y disminuye el desgaste. La banda de rodamiento posee un diseño asimétrico con tres áreas, que unen una apariencia atractiva con
un andar tranquilo y seguro.
Internamente, el SP Sport 01, posee correas gemelas de acero reforzadas con la tecnología “Jointless Band” de Dunlop®, la cual, utiliza nailon envuelto en espiral sin unión, para prevenir que el neumático se expanda a velocidades elevadas y minimizar el peso. Un cordón de rayón refuerza la carcasa y mejora la calidad del andar, mientras que, el talón o alambre del aro, es reforzado con aramid, para un ajuste más fuerte y seguro del neumático al rin.
El flanco del SP Sport 01, posee un diseño gráfico con letras negras al reverso sobre una banda serrada, además, posee un pestaña que protege el rin de los posibles daños causados por las aceras.
