The SP Sport 600 is an Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, the third generation of the rally-bred supercar powered by a 305-horsepower, 2.5-liter Subaru boxer engine. Like all summer tires, the SP Sport 600 is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The SP Sport 600 features a high-grip, silica-reinforced tread compound molded into an asymmetric tread pattern featuring a rounded profile to combine ride comfort, handling and traction. Large outboard shoulder and continuous center ribs enhance initial responsiveness and cornering stability. Notched inboard intermediate and shoulder ribs are combined with three circumferential grooves to help resist hydroplaning. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by Dunlop's JointLess Band (JLB) spirally wrapped nylon to blend high-speed durability with uniform ride quality.
El neumático SP Sport 600 de Dunlop pertenece a la categoría: Rendimiento Extremo Para Verano y fue desarrollado para el Subaru Impreza WRX STI del 2008 (tercera generación de superautos para ralis con 305 caballos de fuerza y un motor Subaru de 2.5 litros). Como todo neumático de verano, el Dunlop SP Sport 600, no fue diseñado para ser utilizado en temperaturas cercanas al nivel de congelación o superficies con hielo o nieve.
El neumático SP Sport 600, posee un compuesto de caucho de alto agarre reforzado con sílice y moldeado en una banda de rodamiento asimétrica con un perfil redondo que combina: confort, maniobrabilidad y tracción. Hombros externos largos y segmentos centrales continuos mejoran la respuesta inicial y la estabilidad al tomar curvas. Segmentos cóncavos intermedios internos y el hombro interno, se combinan con tres ranuras circunferenciales para resistir el deslizamiento en agua (hydroplaning).
La estructura interna posee correas gemelas de acero reforzadas con la tecnología JLB (JointLess Band) de Dunlop y nailon envuelto en espiral, para así combinar durabilidad (por el uso a velocidad elevada del neumático) y un andar uniforme.
