The Sport Maxx RT (inspired by Racing Technology) is Dunlop’s Max Performance Summer road tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and high performance sedans. Dunlop Racing Technology combines sophisticated tire materials and manufacturing techniques to enhance road feedback and driving precision. Like all summer tires, the Sport Maxx RT is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Sport Maxx RT tires feature adaptive compound technology that uses motorsports derived polymers to allow its silica-plus tread rubber to adapt to the textures of the road surface, maximizing road contact and increasing grip. This compound is molded into an asymmetric design that features large outboard shoulder blocks tied to a notched intermediate rib that enhances dry road responsiveness and cornering control. A continuous center rib and notched inboard intermediate and shoulder ribs are separated by wide circumferential grooves to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Dunlop Multi-Radius-Tread Technology distributes footprint pressure effectively across the tire and allows the footprint shape to change more smoothly as it moves from a straight to a curve, leading to better control and more precise driving.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by Dunlop's JointLess Band (JLB) spirally wound cord to provide high-speed durability and enhance ride uniformity.

Como todo neumático de verano, el Sport Maxx RT, no fue diseñado para ser utilizado en temperaturas cercanas al nivel de congelación o superficies con hielo o nieve.

El Sport Maxx RT utiliza una tecnología de compuesto adaptivo, que utiliza polímeros derivados del automovilismo, para permitir que el caucho de sílice mejorado, se adapte a la textura de la superficie de la carretera y maximice el contacto y aumente el agarre. El compuesto de caucho es moldeado en un diseño asimétrico que posee bloques grandes en el hombro exterior junto a un segmento intermedio cóncavo, para mejorar la respuesta sobre carreteras secas y el control al tomar curvas. Un segmento central continuo, otro intermedio y el de los hombros, son separados por canales circunferenciales anchos, que permiten sacar agua y aumentar la tracción sobre mojado y la resistencia al deslizamiento sobre agua (hydroplaning). La tecnología Multi-Radius-Tread de Dunlop, permite distribuir eficientemente, la presión del área de contacto, a través del neumático, esto permite que la forma de la huella cambie fluidamente, de un andar recto a uno donde se toman curvas; profiriendo un mejor control y andar más preciso.

La estructura interna del SP Sport Maxx RT posee correas gemelas de acero reforzadas con la tecnología “Jointless Band” (banda sin unión. JLB, por sus siglas en inglés), la cual, utiliza cordón envuelto en espiral, para proporcionar mayor durabilidad bajo altas velocidades y un andar más uniforme.
