The Firehawk GT w/UNI-T is Firestone's High Performance All-Season tire developed for sporty performance sedans and coupes. The Firehawk GT is designed to allow drivers to feel the freedom of the road by blending long treadwear and responsive handling with dependable traction on dry and wet roads, as well as in light snow.
Firestone's UNI-T Technology focuses on three primary tire components, the beads, casing and tread, which influence overall performance by enhancing comfort, handling and traction. On the outside, the Firehawk GT molds a long wearing, high-silica tread compound into an asymmetric tread design that features large outside shoulder blocks to enhance steering response and cornering stability. Inside shoulder blocks feature more lateral grooves and sipes to provide the additional biting edges that aid traction in foul weather. The Firehawk GT radial’s continuous center ribs enhance responsiveness, as well as wet and dry traction when accelerating or braking. The entire tread design features Firestone's Veri-pitch sequencing of block shapes and sizes to help reduce tread pattern noise. The Firehawk GT's structure includes twin, steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to enhance driving control and provide long, even treadwear while minimizing weight and enhancing ride quality. A polyester cord body and hard rubber sidewall reinforcements enhance steering response and cornering stability.
El neumático Firehawk GT w/UNI-T de Firestone, pertenece al segmento de Alto Rendimiento Para Toda Estación y fue desarrollado para vehículos sedán y cupé de rendimiento deportivo. Este neumático permite que el conductor sienta la libertad de conducir al complementar un desgaste lento y una maniobrabilidad precisa gracias a una tracción confiable, ya sea en carreteras con superficies secas, mojadas o cubiertas con poca nieve.
La tecnología UNI-T de Firestone se enfoca en tres componentes primarios del neumático: el talón o alambre del aro, la carcasa y la banda de rodamiento. Estos, influyen directamente en el desempeño general del neumático al mejorar el confort, la maniobrabilidad y la tracción.
El exterior del Firehawk GT posee una banda de rodamiento con un compuesto de desgaste lento y alto contenido de sílice, moldeado en un diseño asimétrico. Bloques largos en la parte exterior de los hombros aumentan la respuesta al girar el volante y la estabilidad al tomar curvas. Un segmento central continuo aumenta la velocidad de la respuesta al girar el volante, al igual que la tracción al acelerar o frenar sobre superficies mojadas o secas.
