The Eagle GS-C EMT (Extended Mobility Technology) is Goodyear's Ultra High Performance Summer self-supporting run-flat tire developed for C4 Corvette coupes and convertibles. Featuring Goodyear's Extended Mobility Technology, these tires provide temporary mobility even after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. The Eagle GS-C EMT is designed to blend wet and dry traction, however like all summer tires, it is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The Eagle GS-C EMT molds an ultra high performance tread compound into a tread design that combines directional and asymmetrical features. This, plus the different sizes used on the front and rear of C4 Corvette coupes and convertibles, results in vehicle position-specific tires that maintain Original Equipment authenticity. Wide outboard shoulders, independent intermediate tread blocks and an offset directional tread design promotes wet and dry traction. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wound aramid overlays and angled rayon casing plies to deliver disturbance-free operation with high-speed durability. The tire's reinforced sidewalls are capable of temporarily supporting the weight of the vehicle even after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure.
NOTE: Extended Mobility Technology tires are only recommended for vehicles that are originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.
El neumático Eagle GS-C EMT (Extended Mobility Technology, tecnología de movilidad extendida) de Goodyear pertenece a la categoría: Ultra Alto Rendimiento Para Verano y es un neumático “rueda flat” (pueden soportar el peso del vehículo sin necesidad de aire) que fue desarrollado para los Corvette C4. El Eagle GS-C EMT moldea un compuesto de caucho de ultra alto rendimiento en una banda de rodamiento con características direccional y asimétrica. Esto, más la diferencia en tamaño en los neumáticos frontales y traseros del Corvette C4, convierte los neumáticos para uso en posiciones especificas, manteniendo la autenticidad de los neumáticos originales (O.E., por sus siglas en inglés). Hombros anchos en la parte externa, segmentos de bloques o tacos intermedios e independientes y un patrón direccional ni paralelo ni convergente, promueve tracción sobre superficies secas y mojadas.
La estructura interna incluye correas gemelas de acero reforzadas con aramida envuelto en espiral sobre y en ángulo de un armazón de rayón, esto, permite combinar una operación sin interrupción con durabilidad por su uso a velocidades elevadas. Los refuerzos de los flancos o paredes son capaces de soportar el peso del vehículo temporalmente sin la necesidad de aire.
