The Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 RunOnFlat (ROF) is Goodyear's self-supporting run-flat Performance Winter / Snow tire developed for the drivers of high-performance sport coupes and sedans. Designed to offer temporary extended mobility in the event a puncture allows complete air pressure loss, Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 ROF tires also offer European winter driving traction in cold conditions on dry, wet and snow-covered roads.
Goodyear ROF tires incorporate special sidewall reinforcements that support the weight of the vehicle even after sustaining air pressure losses that would render conventional tires immobile. While internal tire damage will likely make replacement necessary, ROF tires are designed to endure being run on flat for up to 50 miles at speeds up to 50 mph in order to provide drivers the temporary extended mobility necessary to drive through stormy weather and away from dangerous situations. ROF tires are only recommended for vehicles originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 ROF tires feature a performance winter / snow compound molded into a V-TRED technology directional tread pattern to combine winter traction in snow with hydroplaning resistance on wet and slush-covered roads. The Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 ROF's rounded shoulder and independent intermediate tread blocks enhance dry and wet road handling while the center rib provides constant road contact for highway stability. All elements of the tread design use strategically placed sipes to provide the biting edges needed to help grip snow for winter traction without resorting to traditional metal studs.
All Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 ROF winter / snow tires meet the industry’s severe snow service requirements and are branded with the mountain/snowflake symbol.
Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 ROF tires feature winter wear indicators to identify when wear prevents the remaining tread depth to provide beneficial snow performance.
Install Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 ROF tires in sets of four only.
Due to the traction capabilities of the Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 ROF, Goodyear recommends using Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 ROF tires only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.
