The Ultra Grip SUV European-inspired Performance Winter tire is a member of Goodyear's Wrangler family of light truck tires developed for crossover and sport utility vehicle drivers looking for traction and handling on winter's dry, wet and snow-covered roads. The Ultra Grip SUV is designed to combine fair-road winter driving performance with foul-weather winter traction.
The Ultra Grip SUV features an advanced silica-based winter compound molded into a V-TRED technology directional tread pattern to combine hydroplaning resistance on wet and slush-covered roads with winter traction in snow and on ice. The Ultra Grip SUV's rounded shoulder and intermediate tread blocks enhance dry and wet road handling while the center rib provides constant road contact for highway stability. The tread design uses strategically placed 3D Bubble Blade sipes that lock together to enhance dry and wet road handling while providing the biting edges needed to grip packed snow and ice without resorting to traditional metal studs. The tire's internal structure uses twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon on top of a polyester casing to combine highway durability with a smooth ride.
The Ultra Grip SUV winter tire meets the industry’s severe snow service requirements and is branded with the mountain/snowflake symbol.
Ultra Grip SUV tires feature winter wear indicators to identify when the remaining tread depth remains suitable to provide beneficial snow performance.
Install Ultra Grip SUV tires in sets of four only.
Due to the nature of all-wheel drivelines and the traction capabilities of the Ultra Grip SUV, Goodyear recommends using Ultra Grip SUV tires only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.
NOTE: These tires are only identified "Ultra Grip" in the large letters on their sidewalls and are NOT actually branded with the letters "SUV." Goodyear chose this naming convention to help differentiate the new tires (that feature a directional tread design) from their earlier Wrangler Ultra Grip tires (that featured a 5-rib symmetric tread design) and were discontinued in North America in 2005.

El Ultra Grip SUV utiliza un avanzado compuesto de sílice para invierno, moldeado en una banda de rodamiento direccional que utiliza la tecnología V-TRED. Esta tecnología combina, resistencia al deslizamiento en agua (hydroplaning) y aguanieve, con tracción en hielo y nieve. Debido a la naturaleza de los sistemas de tracción modernos en las cuatro ruedas y la capacidad de tracción del Ultra Grip SUV, Goodyear recomienda instalar los cuatro neumáticos Ultra Grip SUV, para adquirir la mejor maniobrabilidad y rendimiento que su vehículo puede alcanzar.
NOTA: Estos neumáticos están identificados por las palabras “Ultra Grip” en el flanco y las letras “SUV” NO están marcadas.
