The Ecsta MX XRP (KU15) is Kumho's Max Performance Summer self-supporting run flat tire developed exclusively for the drivers of C-5 Corvettes to provide temporary continuing mobility in the case a puncture allows complete air pressure loss. While the Ecsta MX XRP (Extended Runflat Performance) tires are designed to blend dry road performance, wet traction and the convenience run-flat mobility provides, they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Ecsta MX XRP molds an advanced silica tread rubber compound into a directional tread pattern that features massive, stable blocks to increase cornering traction and steering response, while four large circumferential and multiple directionally aligned lateral grooves resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Internally, the two wide steel belts are reinforced by spirally wound nylon cap plies to provide excellent strength, uniform ride quality and Y-speed rated capability while the sidewalls are tuned to resist lateral deflection and to provide handling control and feedback. Rubber run-flat inserts are molded on the inside of both of the tire's sidewalls to provide temporary continuing mobility in the event of a puncture causing complete loss of air pressure.
El ECSTA MX XRP (KU15) de KUMHO pertenece al segmento: Rendimiento Máximo Para Verano y se soporta por si solo, convirtiéndolo, en un neumático “rueda flat”. Esta característica permite movilidad temporal, exclusivamente a conductores de Corvettes C-5 en caso de perdida de aire parcial o total. El ECSTA MX XRP (Extended RunFlat Performance) de KUMHO, fue diseñado para combinar rendimiento en carreteras secas, mojadas y la conveniencia de seguir rodando sin la necesidad de aire. Como todo neumático de verano, el ECSTA MX XRP, no ha sido fabricado para ser utilizado en temperaturas cercas al nivel de congelación, hielo o nieve.

El ECSTA MX XRP moldea una mezcla de caucho con sílice avanzado, en un diseño direccional de la banda de rodamiento. Esta, presenta bloques grandes y estables en los hombros para aumentar la tracción en curvas y ofrecer mayor respuesta al girar el volante. Cuatro canales circunferenciales y ranuras direccionales laterales aumentan la tracción en mojado y se encargan de resistir el deslizamiento en agua (hydroplaning).
Internamente, dos correas anchas de acero son reforzadas por nailon envuelto en espiral para proveer mayor fortaleza, un andar uniforme y capacidades para soportar velocidades elevadas (código de velocidad Y). Los flancos están diseñados para resistir deflexión lateral y proveer control y respuesta al conductor. Rellenos de caucho han sido moldeados en la parte interior del flanco, para proveer movilidad temporal en caso de un pinchazo.
