The Road Venture AT KL78 is Kumho's On-/Off-Road All-Terrain light truck tire developed for the drivers of jeeps, pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles that want to combine on-road driving manners with off-road driving ability. The Road Venture AT KL78 is available in large rim diameter sizes designed to deliver year-round traction on-pavement and off-road, as well as in snow.
The Road Venture AT KL78 molds a cut- and chip-resistant compound into a symmetric, all-terrain tread pattern with large, independent tread blocks for directional stability, steering response and off-road traction. Full depth circumferential zigzag grooves along with multiple lateral grooves evacuate water to resist hydroplaning and enhance traction on wet roads and in snow. Optimized tread groove tapers promote self-cleaning ability to help eject dirt, mud and snow for better loose-surface traction. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon cord to promote a uniform tire shape that provides strength and durability. A two-ply polyester cord body enhances ride quality while it helps provide protection from on- and off-road stresses.
El neumático Road Venture AT KL78 es uno de los representantes de la familia KUMHO en el segmento Dentro/Fuera De Carretera Todoterreno y fue diseñado para conductores de Jeeps, picops y utilitarios deportivos que deseen combinar la capacidad de andar en la carretera con la conducción fuera de ella. Su diseño permite obtener tracción durante todas las estaciones del año, en pavimento, caminos todoterreno y superficies con nieve; puede ser usado en rines estándar o con diámetros más grandes.
La construcción externa del Road Venture AT KL 78 posee una banda de rodamiento resistente a cortes y desprendimiento de pedazos pequeños, es moldeada en un diseño simétrico con bloques largos e independientes que proveen estabilidad direccional y respuesta al girar el volante, a la vez que, tracción fuera de la carretera. Canales circunferenciales profundos tipo zigzag, ranuras laterales múltiples, y pequeñas ranuras en la superficie de los bloques; se encargan de evacuar el agua y proveer resistencia al deslizamiento en agua (hydroplaning), como, aumentar la tracción en superficies con agua o con poca nieve. El diseño escalonado de las ranuras ayudan a extraer el lodo, polvo y nieve.
Internamente, el Road Venture AT KL78 posee correas gemelas de acero reforzadas con cordón de nailon envuelto en espiral para promover la uniformidad de la forma del neumático; esto, aumenta la durabilidad y la capacidad del mismo, a velocidades elevadas. Dos capas con cordones de poliéster mejoran la calidad del andar y protegen del estrés obtenido en carreteras y caminos todoterreno.
