The Pilot Alpin PA2 is Michelin's Performance Winter / Snow tire developed to meet the needs of driving enthusiasts by combining dry road performance and foul weather traction in cold-weather conditions.
The Pilot Alpin PA2 molds a tread rubber compound that remains flexible at lower temperatures for greater grip, into a high-contact tread design. The tread blocks feature Michelin's "Bi-Directional Sipes System" technology that enhances performance on wet, snow-packed and icy roads. The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by Michelin's size-optimized BAZ technology where nylon cord is Banded At Zero degrees to the direction of travel.
The Pilot Alpin PA2 winter / snow radials meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the mountain/snowflake symbol.
The Pilot Alpin PA2 tires feature winter wear indicators to identify when wear prevents the remaining tread depth from providing beneficial snow performance.
Install Pilot Alpin PA2 tires in sets of four only.
Vehicles should always be equipped with equivalent tires at all wheel positions. These winter / snow tires, due to their temporary extended mobility and exceptional snow and ice traction, must be used in sets of four to help ensure proper vehicle control.
El neumático Pilot® Alpin® PA2™ es el neumático de rendimiento para invierno de Michelin, desarrollado para satisfacer las necesidades de conductores entusiastas, al combinar: buen rendimiento en carretera seca, en suelos resbaladizos (agua, nieve, hielo) y fríos.
La mezcla de caucho del Pilot® Alpin® PA2™ permite que la banda de rodamiento permanezca flexible a temperaturas bajas, y así, ofrece mayor agarre. Dependiendo del código de velocidad, la banda esta compuesta con cinco (código de velocidad V) o seis (código de velocidad H) segmentos con bloques independientes. Los bloques utilizan el sistema “Bi-Directional Sipes System” que mejora el rendimiento sobre superficies mojadas, con hielo y nieve compactada.
Internamente, el Pilot® Alpin® PA2™, cuenta con correas gemelas de acero, reforzadas con la tecnología BAZ™, la cual, utiliza una capa de cordón de nailon envuelto en espiral ubicado a cero grados en relación con la rotación del neumático. También, utiliza la tecnología Radial XSE® , la cual, consiste en una mezcla de caucho inteligente con sílice mejorado, Forma Optimizada de la Carcasa y Distribución Optimizada de la Masa; en conjunto proveen, al neumático con mejor rendimiento y características sobresalientes de desgaste. El Pilot® Alpin® PA2™ cumple con los requisitos de Servicio de Nieve Severa de la Asociación de Fabricantes de Caucho (RMA por sus siglas en inglés) y posee el símbolo “copo de nieve sobre la montaña”.
El Pilot® Alpin® PA2™ debe ser instalado en grupo de cuatro solamente.
Todo vehículo debe estar equipado con neumáticos equivalentes en todas las posiciones. Debido a la excepcional tracción en hielo y nieve ofrecida por la mezcla de caucho,los Pilot® Alpin® PA2™, deben ser montados en grupo de cuatro, para proveer al vehículo con el control adecuado. Sin embargo, pueden ser mezclados con los Pilot® Alpin® originales con los mismos tamaños, códigos de velocidad y si son montados en el mismo eje.
