The Pilot Sport 3 is Michelin's Max Performance Summer tire developed as Original Equipment for premium high-performance sports cars, coupes and sedans. Based on Michelin expertise from over a dozen consecutive Le Mans 24-Hour Race victories, the Pilot Sport 3 is an eco-friendly sport tire with Green X branded on its sidewalls to guarantee it offers one of the best energy efficiency levels on the market. The Pilot Sport 3 is designed to balance tread life, fuel efficiency and road gripping performance in dry and wet conditions. However, like all summer tires, they are not intended to be driven in near freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The Pilot Sport 3 features Michelin's Green Power Compound to combine grip on wet surfaces with fuel savings and greater longevity. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design to enhance dry road response and cornering while Michelin's Anti Surf System combines an optimized profile and tread grooves to cut through puddles and standing water to resist hydroplaning and deliver shorter wet braking distances.
The tire's internal structure features Michelin's Programmed Distortion tire architecture that uses digital technology to enhance driving enjoyment and steering precision. Twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped polyamide are combined with a polyester casing to enhance ride quality and high-speed durability.

El neumático Pilot Sport 3 de Michelin pertenece a la categoría: Rendimiento Máximo Para Verano y fue desarrollado como equipo original para autos deportivos, cupé y sedán. Su construcción se basa en la experiencia Michelin (cuenta con más de 12 victorias consecutivas en las 24 horas de Le Mans) y es deportivo y amigable con el medioambiente. Posee la marca Green X en el flanco o pared, garantizando su eficiencia energética como una de las mejores en el mercado. El diseño del Pilot Sport 3 obtiene un balance entre la vida útil del neumático, eficiencia de combustible y excelente agarre sobre carreteras en condiciones secas o mojadas. Como todo neumático de verano no fue diseñado para ser utilizado en temperaturas cercanas al nivel de congelación o superficies con hielo o nieve.
El compuesto de caucho “Green Power” de Michelin, utilizado por el Pilot Sport 3 combina agarre sobre superficies mojadas, economía de combustible y longevidad. Este compuesto es moldeado en una banda de rodamiento con diseño asimétrico, que mejora la respuesta sobre superficie secas y la capacidad al tomar curvas. El sistema “Anti Surf” de Michelin combina un flanco optimizado y ranuras en la banda para pasar a través de charcos o agua empozada, resistir el deslizamiento sobre agua (
hydroplaning) y acortar la distancia de frenado sobre mojado.
La estructura interna del neumático, cuenta con la arquitectura Michelin “Programmed Distortion”, la cual, utiliza tecnología digital para mejorar el placer de manejar y la precisión al girar el volante. Correas gemelas de acero son reforzadas con poliamida envuelto en espiral y combinadas con armazón de poliéster, para mejorar la calidad del andar y la durabilidad, debido a su uso a velocidades elevadas.
