The Primacy HP ZP SR (Zero Pressure Short Range) Grand Touring Summer run-flat tires were developed for use on Audi A3, A4, A5 and A6 models fitted with Original Equipment tires designated AO Extended. The tire's Short-Range designation reflects Audi's selected balance of everyday ride comfort and extended mobility range in the event a puncture results in complete loss of tire inflation pressure. The Primacy HP ZP SR tire's ride comfort enhancing construction provides extended mobility for 20 miles at up to 50 mph, whereas firmer riding, standard run-flat tires are typically rated for 50 miles at 50 mph. Primacy HP ZP SR tires are also designed to provide progressive, predictable cornering and reliable traction in dry and wet conditions, however they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
Primacy HP ZP SR tires benefit from Michelin design innovations known as A.S.M. (Architecture, Sculpture and Materials) reflecting Michelin's ability to focus simultaneously on three fundamental factors that determine a tire's capabilities. Using their A.S.M. design method, Michelin can develop tires that combine an architecture that deforms more easily to optimize contact with the road, a tread design sculpture that remains rigid so more of the footprint contributes to performance, and unique tread compound materials precisely blended by Michelin's mixing technology.
Primacy HP ZP SR tires use a new generation Michelin tread compound molded into an asymmetric tread design that features large, linked shoulder blocks, notched intermediate ribs and a solid center rib to combine responsive handling and high-speed stability with traction and even treadwear. The Primacy HP ZP SR tire's structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by size-optimized BAZ Technology (spiral-wrapped Polyamide Banded At Zero degrees to tire rotation) to enhance ride quality while providing high-speed durability. Sidewall reinforcement using low hysteresis rubber provides self-supporting strength at zero pressure, helps combat sidewall damage and maintains cooler temperatures during zero pressure driving while a special bead design helps secure the tires on conventional rims.
El neumático Primacy HP ZP SR (Zero Pressure Short Range) pertenece al grupo Gran Turismo Para Verano y es un neumático “rueda flat” desarrollado para el uso de los modelos A3, A4, A5 y A6 de Audi que cuentan con neumáticos originales AO Extended. La designación Short-Range, refleja el balance del manejo confortable diario y la movilidad extendida en caso de perdida total de aire, en los vehículos Audi. El Primacy HP ZP SR posee una construcción que mejora la confortabilidad del manejo de su contra parte, los más firmes rueda flat estándares, por esto su movilidad extendida es de 20 millas a una velocidad de hasta 50 mph, mientras que los estándares rueda flat pueden cubrir 50 millas a la misma velocidad. El Primacy HP ZP SR también fue diseñado para proporcionar una respuesta más predecible y progresiva al tomar curvas, al igual que tracción confiable sobre superficies secas y mojadas. Segmentos intermedios cóncavos y un segmento central sólido se combinan para ofrecer maniobrabilidad responsiva y estabilidad a velocidades elevadas, además de tracción y un desgaste parejo.
La estructura interna del Primacy HP ZP SR cuenta con correas de acero gemelas reforzadas con la tecnología BAZ (Bandas de poliamida envuelto en espiral ubicadas a cero grados en relación con la rotación del neumático) para aumentar la calidad del andar y proveer mayor durabilidad al neumático a pesar de su uso a velocidades elevadas. Refuerzos en los flancos utilizan caucho con baja histéresis para proveer la fuerza necesaria al soporta el vehículo, cuando el neumático pierde aire parcial o totalmente. Este refuerzo además protege los flancos y mantiene baja temperatura para prolongar el andar sin aire; un diseño especial del talón o alambre de aro ayuda a que el neumático se mantenga en posición al rin o aro.
