Pirelli Winter Carving Edge and Winter Carving radials are Studdable Winter tires that were developed for the drivers of sport cars, coupes, sedans and minivans, as well as CUVs and SUVs. While designed to accept tire studs to enhance traction on packed snow and ice, they can also be used without studs if desired. Winter Carving radials are designed to perform in wet and dry conditions, as well as enhance overall traction in snow and on ice.

Winter Carving radials use Pirelli's Adaptive Compound Technology (ACT) to blend winter performance with wear resistance. They feature a directional tread design with rounded shoulders to increase hydroplaning resistance on wet and slush-covered roads while enhancing dry road handling. High density lateral sipes across the face of the tire enhance packed snow starting and stopping traction while optional alternating rows of metal studs in the shoulder tread blocks and center zone increase traction on icy roads.

Pirelli Winter Carving radials meet the industry’s severe snow service requirements and are branded with the snowflake-on-the-mountain symbol.

Due to the traction capabilities of the Pirelli Winter Carving Edge and Winter Carving radials, Pirelli recommends using them only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.

Los neumáticos radiales de Pirelli Winter Carving Edge y Winter Carving, son neumáticos de invierno que pueden utilizar pernos y fueron desarrollados para autos deportivos, furgonetas (minivans), cupé, sedán, utiliautos (Crossover) y camiones ligeros (SUV). A pesar de su diseño para utilizar pernos y tener más tracción sobre superficies con nieve compactada o hielo, también pueden ser utilizados sin ellos. Los Winter Carving ofrecen un excelente rendimiento sobre superficies secas, mojadas, con hielo o nieve.

El Winter Carving utiliza la tecnología “Adaptive Compound” (ACT, por sus siglas en inglés) de Pirelli, para combinar rendimiento en invierno con resistencia al desgaste. Posee una banda de rodamiento direccional con hombros redondeados, que aumentan la resistencia al deslizamiento en agua (hydroplaning) y aguanieve, a la vez, de aumentar la maniobrabilidad sobre superficies secas. Gran cantidad de ranuras laterales pequeñas sobre la superficie mejoran el arranque y frenado sobre nieve compactada, mientras que, líneas alternadas de pernos metálicos en los bloques de los hombros y el centro, aumentan la tracción sobre carreteras con hielo (pernos son opcionales).

Los Winter Carving cumplen con los requisitos de la industria relacionados a condiciones severa de nieve y posee el símbolo “montaña/copo de nieve” (mountain/snowflake).

Los neumático Winter Carving deben ser instalados en grupos de cuatro solamente.

Pirelli recomienda el uso del Winter Carving en grupos de cuatro, debido a sus características de tracción; de esta forma, se obtendrá el mejor rendimiento del neumático y mayor maniobrabilidad del vehículo.
