The Sumitomo HTR T4 (High Technology Radials, T-Speed Rated, 4-Season design) is Sumitomo's Standard Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of modern coupes, sedans, minivans and crossover vehicles, as well as offers many 70-series sizes for the small 13” and 14” rim diameter sizes often used on vintage sports cars, coupes and sedans. The Sumitomo HTR T4 is designed to combine long wear and good comfort with traction on dry and wet roads, as well as in occasional light snow.
The HTR T4 molds Sumitomo's fine grain carbon black tread compound into a super computer-designed symmetric pattern that features independent notched shoulder and intermediate blocks and a continuous center rib to enhance operation through a variety of weather and road conditions while delivering treadwear, noise and ride comfort. Sipes leading into the tread block notches then connect with four wide, circumferential tread grooves to assist with water drainage thus enhancing all-season traction and hydroplaning resistance.
The HTR T4 tires' internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by Sumitomo's Jointless Nylon Band (JNB) technology featuring spirally wound belt-edge bands to provide long-term durability. A polyester casing helps decrease ride disturbance to increase ride quality.
El neumático HTR T4 (radial de tecnología avanzada), fabricado por Sumitomo, pertenece a la categoría: Turismo Estándar Para Toda Estación y fue desarrollado para conductores de vehículos cupé, sedán, minivans y utiliautos (crossover), además ofrece muchos tamaños de series 70 para rines con diámetros pequeños de 13 y 14 pulgadas, utilizados, usualmente, en autos deportivos, cupé y sedán antiguos. Su diseño combina un desgaste lento y confortabilidad, con, tracción sobre superficies secas, mojadas y con poca nieve ocasionalmente.
La mezcla de caucho de carbón negro de grano fino, de Sumitomo, es moldeada en un patrón simétrico diseñado por computadora. Este diseño ofrece hombros con muescas, bloques intermedios y un centro continuo, que mejoran el rendimiento en diferentes tipos de clima y condiciones de la carretera, a la vez, se beneficia de un desgaste lento, nivel bajo de ruido y un andar confortable. Pequeñas ranuras en los hombros, permiten más flexibilidad y se extienden hacia los bloques o tacos, conectándose con cuatro ranuras circunferenciales anchas, para ayudar con el drenaje, lo cual, mejora la tracción en todas las estaciones del año, y la resistencia al deslizamiento en agua (hydroplaning).
La estructura interna del HTR T4 cuenta con correas gemelas de acero, reforzadas con la tecnología Jointless Nylon Band (JNB, por sus siglas en inglés), esta, ofrece el uso de bandas de refuerzos envueltas en espiral, para proporcionar mayor durabilidad. Un armazón de poliéster ayuda a disminuir las vibraciones, aumentando la calidad del andar.
