The HTR Z III (High Technology Radials-3rd generation) is Sumitomo's Max Performance Summer tire developed for sports cars, sporty coupes and high performance sedans. It is designed to showcase Sumitomo's technical resources by providing high speed handling stability along with traction on dry and wet roads. Like all summer tires, it is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The Sumitomo HTR Z III features a silica-enhanced tread compound molded into a sophisticated, 5-rib, asymmetric tread design. Large outboard shoulder and intermediate tread blocks along with continuous center and inboard intermediate ribs provide responsive handling, high-speed stability and dry road traction. The inside shoulder is linked by another continuous circumferential rib that enhances wear quality to help reduce noise throughout the life of the tire, especially on vehicles with independent suspensions and alignment settings that specify negative camber. Straight and wide circumferential grooves along with long, sweeping lateral grooves pump water from under the tire’s footprint to increase hydroplaning resistance and wet traction.
The Sumitomo HTR Z III radial features a high-rigidity construction consisting of wide steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped polyamide that stabilize the tread area to enhance handling and high-speed capability. Its polyester cord body and hard rubber sidewall fillers help blend uniform ride quality with steering response and lateral stability.
El neumático HTR Z III (Avanzada Tecnología Radial - 3ra generación) de Sumitomo pertenece a la categoría Rendimiento Máximo Para Verano y fue desarrollado para su uso en autos deportivos, cupé deportivo y sedanes de alto rendimiento. Fue diseñado para proveer estabilidad y maniobrabilidad a velocidades elevadas, además de excelente tracción sobre carreteras secas y mojadas. Como todo neumático de verano no fue construido para ser utilizado en temperaturas cercanas al nivel de congelación o superficies con hielo o nieve.
La mezcla de caucho del Sumitomo HTZR Z III posee silicona mejorada, moldeada en una banda de rodamiento con un sofisticado diseño asimétrico con cinco segmentos. Hombros exteriores anchos y un segmento intermedio con bloques, trabajan conjuntamente con un segmento central continuo y otro segmento intermedio interno. Juntos proveen maniobrabilidad responsiva, estabilidad a velocidades elevadas y tracción sobre carreteras secas. El hombro interno esta unido por otro segmento circunferencial continuo que mejora el desgaste y disminuye el ruido, especialmente en vehículos con sistemas de suspensión individuales y alineamiento camber/comba negativa. Ranuras circunferenciales rectas y anchas, conjuntamente con ranuras laterales extensas, sacan el agua del área de contacto con la carretera para aumentar la tracción y la resistencia al deslizamiento en agua (hydroplaning).
El Sumitomo HTZR Z III radial posee una construcción rígida, basada en correas de acero anchas reforzadas con poliamida envuelto en espiral, para estabilizar la banda de rodamiento, lo cual, mejora la maniobrabilidad y la capacidad del neumático a velocidad elevada. Una capa de poliéster en la carcasa y flancos con caucho duro, ayudan a que la calidad del andar sea uniforme y el vehículo posea mayor estabilidad lateral y respuesta más rápida al girar el volante.
