The Proxes RR is Toyo’s Racetrack & Autocross Only tire developed for driving enthusiasts who compete in road racing and track attack events where high levels of grip in dry conditions is required.
While Proxes RR radials meet DOT requirements, they are not appropriate for highway use. Proxes RR radials are not recommended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. And like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, Proxes RR radials are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It’s also essential these tires be stored indoors at temperatures maintained above 15 degrees F.
Proxes RR tires feature a high-grip tread compound molded into a semi-slick tread design including just two 4/32” deep symmetric circumferential tread grooves and multiple wear inspection holes in the slick areas. This race-ready design eliminates the need for tire shaving, however Proxes RR tires will benefit from heat cycling before competition to enhance wear and provide more consistent performance, as well as scuff-in during their first laps.
The tire’s internal structure features a symmetric rayon casing construction to deliver predictable handling and consistent lap times throughout the tire’s life while reinforced sidewalls deliver enhanced steering response and cornering stability. A marking area integrated into the sidewall design allows racers to easily label and manage their tires.
Initial sizes will include: 205/50ZR15, 225/50ZR15, 275/35ZR18
Note: Effective 1/1/2013, the Proxes RR will become the spec tire for NASA Spec Miata, Spec E30 and Spec 944 classes. The Proxes RA1 will remain available as the designated rain tire for the above classes, as well as the spec tire for all other NASA classes in 2013. Additional sizes of Proxes RR will become available in 2013, at which time additional NASA classes will be switched.
Toyo Tires recommends the following general set-up guidelines for the Proxes RR:
- Operating Temperature: 160°F to 220°F
- Hot Inflation Pressures: High 30s to Low 40s (psi)
- Camber: -2.5° to -5.0°
- Caster: As much positive as possible
NOTE: Please follow the specific mounting and rotation guidelines provided by Toyo for their Proxes RR tires as recommended in the link below.
- Ángulo camber (comba): -2.5 a 5.0 grados

Warranties are rated on a scale of 0-5 with 5 being the highest. This rating combines all of the aspects of each tire's warranty where applicable, including: mileage/treadlife, materials and workmanship, balance and uniformity, replacement tire cost, warranty duration and any special manufacturer's warranties that apply. See official manufacturer's warranty brochure for specific details.
NOTE: New vehicle Original Equipment tire warranties often differ from those covering replacement tires. Consult your vehicle documents to confirm Original Equipment tire warranty coverage.
