The ADVAN S.T. is Yokohama's Street/Sport Truck Summer tire developed to deliver a balance of high-speed capability, handling and comfort required by new-generation performance SUVs. The ADVAN S.T. is designed to add a new dimension to SUV performance that boosts driving pleasure, high-speed capability and traction on dry and wet roads. Like all summer tires, the ADVAN S.T. is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
On the outside, a silica blend tread compound developed specifically for the ADVAN S.T. provides grip that's less affected by extreme low or high temperatures. The tread compound is molded into a W-shaped directional tread pattern that uses a "5-pitch variation" tread block sequencing to provide agile handling at high speed and reduce noise. Designed specifically for the ADVAN S.T., the tire structure offers handling based on the needs of the lower center of gravity specific to new-generation performance SUVs and running stability in a high speed zone up to 186 mph (300 km/h) with two wide steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon cap plies providing strength and uniform ride quality, while the sidewalls are tuned to provide predictable handling.

T. de Yokohama pertenece al segmento Camioneta De Carretera Para Verano y fue diseñado para ofrecer un balance entre: capacidad a velocidades elevadas, maniobrabilidad y confort requerido, por la nueva generación de vehículos utilitarios deportivos. El ADVAN S. T. aumenta el placer de conducir un utilitario, al ofrece mayor capacidad a velocidades elevadas y tracción en suelo seco o mojado. Como todo neumático de verano, el ADVAN S. T., no ha sido fabricado para uso en temperaturas cercanas a los niveles de congelación, hielo o nieve.
La mezcla de caucho utilizada por el ADVAN S.T., posee sílice especialmente desarrollado para proveer un agarre, que sea, menos afectado por temperaturas bajas o elevadas. La banda de rodamiento posee un diseño direccional tipo W, que utiliza cinco tamaños diferentes de bloques ubicados en varios intervalos, para dispersar el ruido y obtener un andar más silencioso.
ADVAN S. T., fue diseñado para acomodar los centros de gravedad más bajos de la nueva generación de vehículos utilitarios y la estabilidad necesaria al conducir hasta 186 mph (300 km/h). Para lograr esto, el ADVAN S/T, utiliza correas gemelas anchas reforzadas con una capa de nailon envuelto en espiral. El diseño de los flancos ofrece mayor control, y por ende, una maniobrabilidad predecible.
