The ADVAN Sport ZPS (Zero Pressure System) is Yokohama's Max Performance Summer run-flat tire developed for sports car, sports coupe and high performance sedan drivers looking to combine comfort and traction with performance and peace of mind. The ADVAN Sport ZPS is designed to combine high speed durability and a high level of traction in dry and wet road conditions with temporary extended mobility for a distance of 50 miles at up to 50 mph in the event a puncture allows complete air pressure loss. Like all summer tires, the ADVAN Sport ZPS is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The ADVAN Sport ZPS features a silica-blend tread compound to provide grip that's less affected by extreme low or high temperatures. The compound is molded into an asymmetric tread pattern featuring five main ribs including a massive, outer shoulder zone to blend handling with ride and noise comfort. Four wide, circumferential grooves help water flow through the footprint to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. The tire’s internal structure combines two wide steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon cap plies providing strength and uniform ride quality. The sidewalls are tuned to resist lateral deflection to provide predictable handling while Yokohama’s ZPS sidewall reinforcement can support the vehicle’s weight even after a puncture allows a complete loss of air pressure.
NOTE: Yokohama’s ZPS tires are only recommended for vehicles originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and a tire pressure monitoring system.
El neumático ADVAN Sport ZPS (Zero Pressure System) de Yokohama, pertenece a la categoría: Máximo Rendimiento Para Verano y es un neumático “rueda flat”, desarrollado para conductores de autos deportivos, cupé deportivo y sedán de alto rendimiento, que buscan combinar confort y tracción, con rendimiento y la seguridad que no se quedará estancado, luego de que el neumático pierda aire. El diseño del ADVAN Sport ZPS combina durabilidad a velocidades elevadas, tracción excelente sobre superficies secas o mojadas y movilidad temporal (50 millas de distancia a una velocidad no superior a 50 mph), en caso de perdida de aire parcial o total. Como todo neumático de verano no fue diseñado para ser utilizado en temperaturas cercanas al nivel de congelación o superficies con hielo o nieve.
El ADVAN Sport ZPS posee un compuesto de caucho con base de sílice, para proporcionar un agarre que sea menos afectado por temperaturas extremas altas o bajas. El compuesto de caucho es moldeado en una banda de rodamiento con un patrón asimétrico con cinco segmentos, que incluyen una zona grande en el hombro exterior, para combinar maniobrabilidad con confort al conducir, al igual que ofrecer bajos niveles de ruido. Cuatro ranuras circunferenciales ayudan a sacar el agua más rápido, del área de contacto con la carretera, y así, aumentar la tracción sobre mojado y la resistencia al deslizamiento en agua (hydroplaning).
La estructura interna del ADVAN Sport ZPS, combina dos correas anchas de acero reforzadas con capas de nailon envuelto en espiral, que proporcionan fortaleza y un andar uniforme. El flanco o pared puede resistir la flexión constante que resulta por el contacto con la carretera, permitiendo una mejor maniobrabilidad.
