Can eco-friendly, low rolling resistance tires make a difference in fuel economy, driving costs and the environment?

Tire Rack arranged to get a small fleet of the 2009 2nd generation Toyota Prius hybrids to test low rolling resistance tires. The Goodyear Integrity O.E. tire was the baseline we compared to other tire choices for the Prius. Tires tested included eco-friendly aftermarket tires for hybrid and fuel-efficient compact cars as well as the Goodyear Assurance ComforTred which prioritizes ride comfort and long wear over fuel efficiency.
