I am writing this second review of the alert American Racing Chrome wheels because I made a stupid typo when I said my Regal GS is and I quote, supercharged 380hp sleeper, That is a bit of a stretch, you think, lol I wish. More like around 280hp. Sorry. However the Alerts are darn good wheels, excellent quality, easy to clean and the tire rubber sticks out just enough to keep from curb rash but I am still careful. The only problem has been the center caps if you tighten the nut to tight they will break. That is why I am back to tire rack to buy two more caps one for spare. I did take two washers and super glued them together to act as a spacer, did help. Buy the wheels, this style or another style they are a quality and well made. See ya

I had the factory original chrome wheels and they looked great until the right sides got smashed up after hitting a huge pot hole. I decided on the American Racing Alert chromes as they were somewhat similar and looked good and kept that sleeper look to my car and believe me it's a supercharged 380hp sleeper, only slightly modded. I just had to order to front center caps due to me over tightening the hex screw that holds the cap on. They are plastic in my opinion, they say on some reviews that they are chromed aluminum, well maybe but they seem like plastic. The problem I feel is that they threaded the insert for the hex bolt to hold the cap on to deep and it is very easy to over tighten and break the back of the part of the hole that holds the hex bolt. If they threaded the bolt hole not so deep this might not happened. It is really easy to do, however the replacement cost is great 12.00 ea. I was expecting more like $50. So that really takes the sting out of being so stupid as to break not just one but both on the same day. Overall, really nice rims and I get a lot of comments on how good they look.
