I tried the Hawk DTC-60 pads after ruining a couple sets of Street/Race pads from the same brand, along with a couple other pads choices. The 60s proved to be much more consistent than I expected them to be. I was worried they d get real grabby when they re warm.
They do require significantly more effort to use on the street, particularly when new. Give yourself some room to stop. They re also catastrophically noisy and dusty. I can really only get away with them because I don t drive my track car on the street much.
But on the track? They re great. They don t seem to be too hard on rotors and they stand up to the temperatures I hit with my brakes. They re easy to modulate, as well. I m not a huge fan of binary on/off pads.
I think I found my new favorites.
