Not sure if it s the ceramic pads or the rotors, but I expected a little noise during the break-in period which never went away. Incredible amount of dust collecting as well. Extremely loud when braking at any speed over 40 mph. (Considerably louder at higher speeds and more extreme braking conditions.) After one year (approx. 10,000 miles of mostly short daily commutes and bi-weekly Autobahn driving at speeds averaging 100-120mph) took the car in for an overall inspection (un-related exhaust issue) and found out the front rotors are shot. Rear rotors are still okay considering the lesser burden, but are starting to show signs of grooving. Since I can t pinpoint the problem to the rotor OR the pads, I ll play it safe and purchase neither next time.

I purchased the Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads for my car shortly after I upgraded the wheels on my 2009 Kia Optima. Now, my driving style is that of an old man (just like the guy who owned my car before me). Its 60MPH on the highway, 65 if Im pushing it, and occasional blasts to triple digits. However, although these pads are never put under tremendous pressure or stress, they have performed wonderfully! For example, my average speed on on and off ramps is about 60 MPH, so with these pads, I have no worries about stopping. Just a dab, and....BOOM! DOWN TO 20 MPH! These pads are amazing (especially when tied with the slotted rotors). I would highly recommend these pads to anyone looking to improve whatever it is that they drive.

I initially bought these pads to extend my rotor life, upgrade stopping power, and decrease the amount of dust I found on my wheels. These pads have far exceeded my expectations, and as a plus, after nearly 30,000 miles of driving with them, they have about 75% left in them. I will definitely be purchasing these pads again in the future. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for an upgrade over stock.

Noisy pads when cold at slow speeds and coming to a stop. Certainly minimal brake dust as compared to traditional, non ceramic compounds. Coming off a highway off ramp, I do feel the need to apply liberal pressure to the pedal to get the pads to grip. The initial bit is less than traditional compounds especially when traveling at highways speeds in the rain. If your car is not equipped with automatic brake scrubbers, which constantly pulse the pads to wipe water off the rotor, then good luck getting bite on the highway in the rain. It s a scary sensation rolling down the highway for a while, not having touched the brakes, then have to hit the brakes only to find about 1 second goes by without any grip at all. One final note, the pads and rotors definitely last longer than traditional metallic compounds. After 25,000 miles the pads and rotors, I m showing almost no lip on the rotor yet.
