I would have to say I am disappointed with the Cup Kit in this application. I believe the problem lies in the soft shock damping H&R uses to retain a smoother ride on relatively good roads. On roads with larger undulations, the soft damping is overwhelmed, and the ride suffers. I am reverting to the stock sport package springs and Bilstein shocks.

I love the Sport Cupkit on my car. The stock suspension on the MkV GTI is really high, yet it still rides pretty stiffly. The Cupkit rides stiffer, no doubt, but I can t believe it s not worse considering it s almost 2" lower. It takes corners better and launches with less wheelhop at the track. It is stiff in the winter just because the roads aren t the best, but overall, I m very happy with my decision. Perhaps the thing I dislike the most is I have a lot of forward rake. The drop claims 2.2" in the front and 1.6" in the rear. I wish it was less of a gap, like 2.2" F 1.8" or 1.9" rear.

I ve ordered the H&R 24mm rear swaybar, so we ll see how that adds up with the cupkit.

I bought this kit looking to lower my car as much as possible after going through stages of different springs. They gave me the look I desired and handled great but the only downside is the ride. On long trips it can become tiring. You learn to avoid potholes and road imperfections as much as possible to avoid the jolt you feel when hitting them. After a while you grow accustomed to it and it s not too bad. I absolutly love the look of the car being so low and really want to keep it there no matter how harsh the ride is. The car handles great now the only thing limiting me is my tires and the driver skill.
