The Blizzak DM-V2 is Bridgestone's Light Truck/SUV Studless Ice & Snow winter tire developed for the drivers of pickup, crossover and sport utility vehicles looking for enhanced grip in slush, snow and on ice. Designed with a focus on ice traction and braking, as well as wet road handling and hydroplaning resistance, the Blizzak DM-V2 offers wintertime driving competence.
Blizzak DM-V2 tires use Bridgestone's adaptive NanoPro Tech Multicell compound that features a water-loving hydrophilic coating and microscopic bite particles. The Multicell compound remains flexible in below-freezing conditions, wicks water off packed snow and ice while the bite particles deliver more grip and improve braking on glare ice. This compound is molded into a directional tread design featuring 15% more aggressive block edges (than the Blizzak DM-V1 it replaces) where wide lateral and circumferential grooves help channel water, slush and snow away from the contact area for added traction while 3D zigzag sipes increase the number of snow biting edges.
The Blizzak DM-V2 radial meets the industry's severe snow service requirements and is branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
NOTE: The first 55% of the Blizzak DM-V2's tread depth features the NanoPro Tech Multicell Compound while the remaining 45% features a standard winter tire compound. When the Blizzak DM-V2 is approximately 50 percent worn, a depth indicator molded into the tread design lets the driver know that the remaining tread is reaching the end of its ability to provide beneficial snow traction.
Install Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 tires in sets of four only.
Due to the revolutionary traction capabilities of the Blizzak, Bridgestone recommends using them only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.

Tire Rack Test Results Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2
Testing Studless Ice & Snow Winter Tires for Crossovers and SUVs (04:23)
There's a common misperception that an SUV's or CUV's advanced systems can create additional traction. They can't. Their purpose is to help the driver make the most of whatever traction their tires can provide.
And for winter season driving, there is none better than a tire from the Studless Ice & Snow category.
We evaluate the category's newest in the most challenging winter condition. Ice.
Feedback patterns show the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 delivers outstanding winter traction, with consistent 9-10 ratings for snow, ice, and deep snow performance. Wet traction earns strong praise (8-10 range) for reliable grip and hydroplaning resistance. Dry handling impresses users despite being a winter-focused tire, with most scores in the 8-10 range. Comfort receives high marks for smooth ride quality and low noise levels. Treadwear ratings (7-9) reflect good durability for a winter tire, though some note slightly faster wear than expected. Customers emphasize its confidence-inspiring performance in harsh conditions, making it a top choice for drivers prioritizing winter capability without sacrificing all-season usability.

Also very impressed with their comfort and handling. Steering feel is definitely a bit "softer" and turning at higher speeds isn't as sharp as with summer/all-season tires, but it's a fairly minor difference. There's also no noticeable additional road noise from these tires in dry conditions which is a great bonus, even in my car (Crosstrek) which has a notoriously loud cabin.

I think black makes the best snow and ice tire available. I've used many different ones and these are the best. That's what I bought them for and they work fantastic.

These tires actually save a little bit of money, I can drive around in 2wd much better than the touring tires that these replace, better MPG. I put it in all wheel, and it goes anywhere. The BIG difference is in stopping distance. The ABS worked overtime with the factory touring tires, Blizzaks stop, corner, almost, like it's dry. I've run Blizzaks before, so I know, put them on late and take them off early. If you run them hot, they will disapear. #1 winter tire in my opinion. I downsized to 18" from the factory 20" to get more sidwall for pothole season.

Love these tires. I have been using the BLIZZAK snow tires for years and never have been disappointed. They have great traction on wet roads, snow and icy conditions. They also ride very comfortably on dry roads as well. Would highly recommend these tires for winter driving.

great ride quality, low road noise. in fact is arguable less road noise then my regular summer tires.
buying through Tire Rack, then having shipped to Firestone worked great, seamless. I did have one tire that never fully balanced, so was a factory-replacement issue. Was pretty smooth, new tire was shipped to Firestone, they swapped out the tire. had to pay to swap out the tire at Firestone, but cost nominal. Did have to bring tire home vs just leaving at Firestone, and then leave it outside on front steps for UPS to come out and pick up to send back to Tire Rack, but overall minimal effort and Tire Rack was only one phone call to get the replacement tire sent out.
BTW, I live in southern MN, so get pretty crazy winter conditions, lots of mixed snow and ice. and these tires have been great. Actually more than great, super confident on the road in snow AND ice with these tires.
Considering I was able to find really good performance snow tires that are not generally available locally, the Tire Rack / Firestone experience was well worth and pretty easy to work with. Highly recommend!
...They are comfortable, mostly quiet ( very good for a snow tire) and do great in snow and ice...
One of the best set of snow tires I have ever had. I have been a repeat customer of the Blizzaks for a while. They are comfortable, mostly quiet (very good for a snow tire) and do great in snow and ice. I would compare them to some of the best snow tires out there. The only complaint that I have (and I understand the trade off) is that due to the great snow traction they give up some durability and wear faster than others. That being said, for a dedicated snow tire, these cannot be beat.

...They were as quiet as the all-seasons used during the summer, and handled very well in both light and heavy snow...
After a great experience with the DM-V1 model, my expectations were high for this tire. I was not disappointed. Improvements in handling and road noise were noticed and appreciated. They were as quiet as the all-seasons used during the summer, and handled very well in both light and heavy snow. A very slight reduction in MPG but the winter traction advantage is worth it. Would definitely purchase these tires again - if they're ever available in the size for my new vehicle.

...It's been 4 years now and the tread is still very much strong and in tact...
Bought these tires back in Jan 2019 and these are by far my favorite tires of all time. Used it on my 2001 BMW X5 4.4L. I live in California and drive into Lake Tahoe and Mammoth mountain. I've been able to get through 3-4 feet of snow with no issues (mainly the beastly car engine) but couldn't have done it without these amazing tires. It's been 4 years now and the tread is still very much strong and in tact. Would highly recommend these tires. Don't waste anymore time thinking about it. These are definitely the best tires in the market!!

We are disciples for snow tires on all our cars - regardless of performance sedan or SUV. In this case it is an all-electric VW ID.4. We've mostly had Blizzaks over many years, because they provide solid performance and have great tread life. These tires have only been used in city driving, since it is still challenging to do any distance travel in the winter with an electric vehicle (dramatic range decrease and dramatic time increase to charge -- when you can find a functional level 3 charger!). I anticipated the tires would wear more than they did because the weight of the vehicle and the incredible torque it delivers. It doesn't seem to me that the wear is much different from previous SUV's. For our climate in Wisconsin, the Blizzak tire is a perfect setup.
