The Dueler H/L Alenza with UNI-T and/or UNI-T AQII technology is Bridgestone's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season light truck tire developed for the drivers of premium crossover and sport utility vehicles, as well as light duty pickup trucks. The Dueler H/L Alenza is designed to provide elegance with an edge, as well as year-round traction, even in light snow.
While all Dueler H/L Alenza sizes feature Bridgestone's UNI-T technology to take tire behavior to a higher level by increasing comfort and control, in order to further enhance wet traction over the life of the tire select sizes also have Bridgestone's UNI-T AQII technology which features dual layer tread compounds to resist the normal tread rubber hardening that results from the heat encountered during thousands of miles of use. As the tire wears, the special underlying high-grip rubber is exposed, helping offset the effects of heat and wear on wet traction. The result is that UNI-T AQ II technology helps handle wet road conditions even as the tire wears over the years.
The symmetric tread pattern of the Dueler H/L Alenza has been ride and noise tuned to enhance comfort. Large shoulder blocks and a continuous center rib boost responsiveness and highway stability, while wide circumferential grooves, lateral notches and sipes help increase stormy weather traction. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts (reinforced with spirally wound nylon for H-, V- and W-speed rated sizes) to provide support under the tread area, while polyester cords stabilize the sidewalls and enhance ride quality.
Note: While Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season light truck tires offer all-season versatility including traction in light snow, tire sizes featuring extremely wide tread widths may limit the traction this type of tire can provide in deep snow.
*Specific sizes featuring UNI-T or UNI-T AQII technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Sooner or Later You'll Own Generals - Maybe Now is the Time (04:02)
If you ask people about General tires, many will remember the decades-old slogan "sooner or later you'll own Generals." General recently introduced the Grabber HTS as the newest member of the Grabber family of SUV and pick-up/light truck tires, focusing on all-season traction and ride quality for drivers who never need to venture off paved roads and highways. To gain a better understanding of how well the new General Grabber HTS fits with today's SUVs, we did some comparing. Maybe now is the time.
Ratings highlight excellence in comfort and treadwear, with many customers praising the smooth, quiet ride (9-10 scores) and long-lasting durability. Winter traction receives positive feedback for light snow and slush performance, though some note reduced confidence on ice. Wet traction consistently earns 8-10 ratings for strong grip and hydroplaning resistance, while dry traction shines as a standout strength (9-10 scores) with responsive handling. Designed for crossover/SUV touring, the tire's balanced all-season performance aligns well with its intended use, though a few users mention variability in severe winter conditions. Overall satisfaction is high, with many highlighting reliability for daily driving.

I was very impressed with the traction (ice, snow & heavy rain) ride ( very smooth and quiet) and how well they lasted...
I replaced the originals (continentals) at 27,XXX and these tires were perfect for me. When I first saw them I wondered if they would be aggressive enough for the winter. After 60,000 miles, They are the best tire I have ever owned. They did get rotated and balanced. I was very impressed with the traction (ice, snow & heavy rain) ride (very smooth and quiet) and how how well they lasted. This would be my only choice.

I'm in the process of ordering another set of this amazing tire. 70,000 miles on the current set. These have been fantastic in snow, ice, and rain. Even with tread close to the wear bars they resist hydro planing near 70 mph. Again...70000 miles on an SUV!

...The tires are quiet and resist hydroplaning well...
I installed these tires on my wife's vehicle a couple of years ago and we've been pleased with them. She drives backroads, city and highway and has never had a flat or blowout. The tires are quiet and resist hydoplaning well. After 40,000 miles it's time for replacing them and will probably purchase the same tire again.

...Sure this is AWD, but with the Michelins it didn't handle snow very well for having AWD and the stability control and ABS would kick-in often. With the Bridgestones, routine driving in snow was a snap and you had to push it to engage the stability control and ABS...
These replaced OEM Michelins. Steering response and stability are much better. The ride feels firmer and more controlled, yet smaller bumps and tar-strips are mostly heard, not felt. Brand new, the tires had the familiar Bridgestone hum, there but not unpleasant. This has diminished with age. Road noise on coarse concrete is substantially less than with the OEM Michelins, a huge factor in the Bridgestones favor. Treadwear after 12K miles seems on the low side (meaning good), but Im guessing 50K of life vs 65K claimed, still very good for V rated tire. Wet handling and braking are superb and a big improvement over the OEMs, as is snow performance. Sure this is AWD, but with the Michelins it didnt handle snow very well for having AWD and the stability control and ABS would kick-in often. With the Bridgestones, routine driving in snow was a snap and you had to push it to engage the stability control and ABS. In fairness to the OEM Michelins, they were a dedicated car tire put on a 4K lb plus SUV. The Bridgestones lost only one round to the OEMs - fuel economy. Ive seen about a 1.0 mpg drop in fuel economy with the Bridgestones. No surpise as CR rated those same OEM Michelins as having the lowest rolling resistance of the tires tested at the time. To conclude, this is a superb tire that is responsive, stable, and quiet and with what appears to be good treadwear. A winner!

I bought these tires to replace my OEM Michelins that came on my MDX. I researched these tires well and am absolutely pleased with my purchase through Tire Rack. Thanks to Walt for helping me with this selection. These were significantly less expensive than replacing my worn tires with the original Michelin Cross Terrains. I recently drove through a good ole western PA snow/ice storm and was very impressed with these tires. They handled traction in the snow and sleet in an excellent fashion with very good grip for an all season tire. When the weather turned to rain and therefore the roads to slush and water they kept on going. This may seem bizzare, but driving on top of about 3/4 inches of sleet was absolutely nothing to these tires. I was easily able to motor along at 60+ mph with no loss of stability. The road noise on dry pavement is very good and wet traction is excellent. I do not regret replacing my much more expensive Michelins with these tires for a minute and would recommend them for any SUV driver.

...Previously had Bridgestone Dueler H/T REVO's which is a more all-terrain tire. The Alenzas are a lot nicer to live with... much better in icy conditions than the REVO's and seem awfully good in the snow so far...
I like these tires except I had a problem with vibration that could not be diagnosed and eventually developed cupping along the edge of of all 4 tires. Still not sure what caused all this as the suspension and alignment have been carefully gone over repeatedly and are fine. Replaced two worst tires and these seem to be holding up. If they are fine in a few more months I am going to replace the other two after the winter with only a few thousand miles. If have to start over will probably go to Michelin. I wonder if the lateral tread cuts along the tire edge might make them prone to cupping. But to be fair, other reviewers don't seem to have this problem so maybe it is something with my truck not the tire.
Otherwise excellent in all conditions especially icy slush.
Previously had Bridgestone Dueler H/T REVO's which is a more all-terrain tire. The Alenzas are a lot nicer to live with... much quieter, and much better in icy conditions than the REVO's and seem awfully good in the snow so far. I think snow and ice performance has more to do with the rubber compound than the tread design.

...In the dry it's a very good tire. Under emergency braking to the point of activating the antilock system the tires tracked straight with no extra input needed maintain directional control... The Tundra and Bridgestones didn't slide or slew and no one was hurt...
Deep snow In 4WD mode: Good traction for take off, cornering and braking are not as good as take off. To be fair braking and cornering are far better than the other traffic on the road in deep snow, it's easy to accelerate past other traffic and to stop and turn. It's just the traction afforded during take off doesn't match the cornering and stopping (probably the 4WD engaged vs 2WD mode). I found my self sliding off the road in deep snow when traveling much faster than traffic. If I slowed to slightly faster than the average traffic I didn't slide in corners and had no braking lockups at all. Wet conditions 2WD: No hydroplaning through the life of the tread, good braking and cornering in the wet, take off will spin the tires pretty easily but it's a pickup truck so that's expected. Dry conditions: Good traction for take off, good braking and cornering. In the dry it's a very good tire. Under emergency braking to the point of activating the antilock system the tires tracked straight with no extra input needed maintain directional control. To be fair stability control in the Tundra may have played a part but, in the particular instance a lady pulled out of a gas station in front of me and the guy in the lane next to me. We were both a 40 mph and slammed on the brakes as we fully expected to hit her. She froze when she realized a truck and car were coming at her and that she was about to be hit. We both stopped about 3 to 8 inches from hitting her. The Tundra and Bridgestones didn't slide or slew and no one was hurt. I heard the tires from my truck and the car next to me skidding as the antilocks pulsed on both vehicles. Ride comfort is very good, steering response very good, tire noise is good but sometimes on concrete the noise is a little louder than asphalt. Tire wear has be good 50,000 miles and there is still some left before the wear bars. Now that they are near the wear bars there is some hint of hydroplaning but they are all but worn out. Light Offroad good

...It's been an excellent tire in all aspects. They seem to be wearing well as far as treadlife, and the ride, performance, quietness, responsiveness, and traction in all conditions is excellent...
We purchased this tire and installed on our '07 Rav4 in February of 2010. It's been an excellent tire in all aspects. They seem to be wearing well as far as treadlife, and the ride, performance, quietness, responsiveness, and traction in all conditions is excellent. Just last week I had to drive from Rockville, MD to my home on the Maryland's Eastern shore, along a traffic clogged DC Beltway in heavy rain. The Rav4's AWD certainly helped, but the tires did their job well. The vehicle was stable on the beltway (which has a lot of curves on the north side for those not familiar) in the wet conditions, and I never felt any danger of losing control or hydroplaning. We're very happy with these tires, and will be purchasing another set when the current set reaches it's end of life.

...within the first several miles, found them more comfortable. My initial evaluation is that they are better than the Michelins...
Hello,
I could only estimate the 'treadwear' number as I haven't had these tires long enough. My original Michelin's were rotated and the air pressure checked every 5000 miles, but were down to the treadwear indicator at 22,500 miles. Thus, doing the best research I could, decided upon the Dueler Alenzas....and within the first several miles, found them more comfortable. My initial evaluation is that they are certainly better than the Michelins. I would buy them again! With a smile, Randy Sammons

Very nice quiet ride compared to OE TOYO Crap tires which Toyota is putting on these days. But Highlander Sport owners be aware that the larger tire reduces fuel mileage. I am noticing a 3 to 4 MPG loss even with 40 psi. Now avg. 22 mpg. Still a good stable quiet tire. Replaced original TOYO A20's @ 42,000 miles. These tires have great quality overall (ride confort, Noise confort, good grip while turning and excellent wet traction). Will complete the review after using them in the snow.
