The Dueler H/P Sport AS is one of Bridgestone's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tires developed for the drivers of luxury and performance crossovers, sport utility vehicles and light-duty pickup trucks looking for all-season capability, even in light snow. Designed to provide performance that is in tune with today's popular light-duty light trucks, the Dueler H/P Sport AS blends traction, handling and braking with ride comfort and wear.
Dueler H/P Sport AS tires feature a high-silica tread compound that improves traction in wet and wintry conditions. This compound is molded into a symmetric design featuring high-stiffness closed shoulders to enhance cornering and handling along with circumferential and high angle lateral grooves that further water evacuation by channeling water away from the footprint area to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Full-depth tread design features and engineered sipes provide the biting edges to promote all-season performance during the life of the tire.
The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to enhance durability while reducing tire weight and rolling resistance.

Can the New Crossover/SUV Tires Help Yours Drive More Like a Car? (03:59)
Today's CUVs and SUVs have evolved from their "light truck with the enclosed, cargo carrying convenience of a hatchback" design. Many prioritize on-road sportiness vs. all-around utility. To keep pace, new tire options for these vehicles blend handling, ride quality and year-round traction.
Customer feedback data reveals the Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport AS delivers strong dry traction (7-10 scores) with responsive handling, making it reliable for everyday driving. Comfort receives praise for a smooth ride and moderate noise levels (7-8 range). Wet traction is generally positive (6-8 scores), though some note reduced hydroplaning resistance in heavy rain. Winter traction shows significant concerns, with many ratings below 5 for snow/ice performance, limiting its all-season versatility. Treadwear ratings are inconsistent, with multiple reports of premature wear (1-5 scores) despite some users noting decent longevity. Ideal for drivers prioritizing dry-road performance and comfort, but less suited for winter conditions or high mileage expectations.

...Tire behaved well in rain and highway but I was worried about wet traction. They did ok but not fully comfortable after snow...
OEM on vehicle. After 70 mi, light snow fell and vehicle slid on turning at 15 mph! I've owned 3 other Subarus and none behaved this way even with all seasons. Felt unsteady in light snow that day and looked up review of tire with similar complaints. Left second day on 3700mi road trip through south east. Tire behaved well in rain and highway but I was worried about wet traction. They did ok but not fully comfortable after snow experience. Although I'll put dedicated winter tires on next year, I would not recommend any driving in snow with these tires. BTW I had Brdgestone Dueler tires on my last Subaru Forester and they did great in snow. (I can't remember the model)

...The wet traction has been decent. I have not had any problems even in heavy rain at highway speeds...
These Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport AS tires came stock on my 2012 CR-V. We purchased the vehicle in May 2012. The dry handling of the tire is good. I don't find the tire to be loud. The wet traction has been decent. I have not had any problems even in heavy rain at highway speeds. The first snow was a different story. We had about 3 inches of snow here on the first snow of the season. I was not confident at all in these tires. Snow traction is horrible. Braking in the snow is just as bad. The tration control and ABS kick in conyinually. I would not expect this from an all-season tire at all. These tires are not great at all if you are looking for all-season performance like they state. If you won't be driving in snow, they are an okay option. That said, there are plenty of other options that would surpass this tire in every aspect for a lot less money. I would not recommend this tire.

...Wet and dry performance is fine, and I've done a lot of driving on wet tires in the Pacific Northwest...
The tire is a little loud as others have mentioned, but nothing terrible. Maybe if I replaced with a much quieter tire I would suddenly notice a massive difference but they're OK as it stands. Wet and dry performance is fine, and I've done a lot of wet driving on these tires in the Pacific Northwest.
The main issue is snow. The tires, and I'm not over exaggerating here, feel treacherous in the snow. Even driving in light snow at very reasonable speeds (the same as everyone else on the road, and I've done a lot of snow driving to know) was awful. Braking response was bad, and the ABS would kick in quickly when I did a traction check. It's also the only time the car has ever used its vehicle stability/dynamics control thing, multiple times. I was legitimately scared and glad to get off the pass and down in elevation. All this was a week after taking off the snow tires due to it being the end of the legal studded tire season, so it was a spring time snow event east of the mountains here. It was normal snow, not slushy, fairly dry stuff actually considering the location.
My advice: if you have these tires on your car think very carefully about driving in the snow. If you do, go slower than everyone else and do occasional traction checks (braking to the ABS limit, *carefully*, with nobody behind you) so you know how much traction you have (likely very little). If you plan on doing regular driving in the snow please get better all-season or even basic and cheap snow tires as they will save your life. Again, these tires are treacherous on the snow!

...Still some road noise but the tread wear and ride is excellent...
Never liked Bridgestone before on a 2009 CRV. However, this model is much better on the 2012 CRV. Still some road noise but the tread wear and ride is excellent. This tire is the original tire.

...Light snow and compacted snow make this tire become more like a set of bald tires...I'm not kidding... I have honestly never experienced tires in snow that have performed so badly. Traction control/ABS coming on all the time (and we were driving normal for the conditions)...
We got our 2013 Honda CRV (AWD) in April (we have 7000 miles on them). These were the OEM tires installed. They are fine summer tires...nothing exceptional, just average. We just got back from our 2013 Christmas in MN...we happened to get a couple inches of snow on our drive (about 10 degrees out). I have never, ever, been so disappointed with a set of tires (and this is why I'm posting). Light snow and compacted snow make this tire become more like a set of bald tires...I'm not kidding. This is my wife's CRV, and I will be replacing them this weekend. I have honestly never experienced tires (in snow) that have performed so badly. Traction control/ABS coming on all the time (and we were driving normal for the conditions). I just feel the need to warn others about this tire in colder climates...avoid them.

...I was shocked how bad these tires were in light snow. I have the AWD version of the CR-V and really like the vehicle overall but I agree with several other reviewers that these tires are poor in light snow. I thought my traction control was off or malfunctioning...
These came on my 2012 CR-V and I'm ready for something better (that's why I'm here). I'm in SE MI. I was shocked how bad these tires were in light snow. I have the AWD version of the CR-V and really like the vehicle overall but I agree with several other reviewers that these tires are poor in light snow. I thought my traction control was off or malfunctioning.
As far as thread wear goes; they're okay. I have 38k on them and there's at least another 10k left on them. I don't want to face another winter with them, though.
I think these tires are noisy. I wouldn't mind the noise if they were good in the snow.
I don't know what to purchase as a replacement. The reviews on here are all over the place. I can't believe how people can have such different experiences on the same tire and vehicle. I'm a good driver (no accidents or tickets in 35 years) and I logged a lot of miles (over 30k a year on average). This is my first AWD vehicle and was expecting awesome snow performance. Not so with these OEMs.

...At 28,000 miles the noise is excessive, actually worse than the winter tires I just put on. And I was shocked to see that all 4 tires, although evenly worn and properly inflated, are almost at the wear bars...
This was the OEM tire on my wife's 2017 Outback. At only 28,000 miles the noise is excessive, actually worse than the winter tires I just put on. And I was shocked to see that all 4 tires, although evenly worn and properly inflated, are almost at the wear bars. I don't usually write tire reviews but the noise and poor wear of these is so surprising I am compelled to pass along my experience. Quite a contrast to our last Outback, a 2011, that clocked over 65K on the OEM Continentals. Needless to say I do not recommend these, and will definitely be replacing them with something else.
