The Potenza Sport is Bridgestone's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of ultra high performance sports cars, coupes and sedans who want to maximize their driving experience in warm, wet and dry conditions. Like all Max Performance Summer tires, the Potenza Sport is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near-and below- freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The Potenza Sport utilizes large, uninterrupted circumferential ribs for enhanced longitudinal grip and broad, outboard shoulder blocks for increased cornering traction and lateral stability. The next-generation tread compound provides reinforcement and improved block stiffness which promotes responsive steering and high speed handling. Additionally, the enhanced compound focuses on advancing wet traction and stability for capable wet performance. The specially engineered pattern geometry ensures even contact patch pressure while promoting water evacuation for even wear and hydroplaning resistance. Tuned tread block sequencing and lateral notches help minimize tread harmonics for a comfortable ride and low road noise.
The internal construction of the Potenza Sport features a single polyester casing mated to twin steel belts which are reinforced by a robust aramid-nylon cap ply.
Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Ultra High Performance vs. Max Performance Summer Tires – 2024 Test 3 (22:06)
Using our new BMW M2 high-performance test vehicle, we ran two Ultra High Performance and four Max Performance summer tires through our litany of tests to find the true kings of summer.
Customer surveys indicate the Bridgestone Potenza Sport excels in dry traction, with most users rating it 9-10 for confident cornering and responsive handling. Wet traction also earns strong praise (7-10 range), with reliable grip in rain and minimal hydroplaning concerns. Ride comfort receives positive feedback for smoothness, though some note moderate road noise at higher speeds. Treadwear ratings show mostly good durability (7-10), though a few users report faster wear under aggressive driving. As a max performance summer tire, it delivers outstanding dry/wet performance aligned with its category, while comfort and treadlife meet expectations for enthusiasts prioritizing grip over ultra-longevity.

...The uni-directional tread pattern shoot waters like a fire hose, letting you glide through puddles w/o hesitation, and float like baby ----- above water. Braking grip in the wet is terrifyingly stable- no aquaplaning, zero drama. I've lapped tracks in 40mm downpours & still felt like the road was paved with glue once they warmed up...
Potenza Sports are absolute monsters on the track, especially in conditions where most tires fold. I guess if you live in a warm-summer Mediterranean climate in Italy literally named: Potenza, where they have dry summers & only wet winters— we'd probably come up w/ a tire that asks, "WTF is snow?", but if we asked, "Wet handling?" 🌊🤌🏼
These Tires Speak the Language of Rain. The uni-directional tread pattern shoot waters like a fire hose, letting you glide through puddles w/o hesitation, and float like baby ----- above water. Braking grip in the wet is terrifyingly stable—no aquaplaning, zero drama. I’ve lapped tracks in 40mm downpours & still felt like the road was paved with glue once they warmed up. Michelin PS4S can’t touch them in this category—Potenzas are at least a full rating class above in wet grip. The soaking wet reality, lb for lb— Potenzas > all Summer performance tires for wet conditions.
Dry Performance? They’re still sharp w/ excellent steering feedback & predictable limits. They bite so aggressively that you can feel the rubber burning at 50°C track temps, and they hold their composure longer than most. The dry grip isn’t elite (10/10) for summer tires, but for a tire that dominates like this in rain, it’s a fair trade.
Track Versatility & Heat Resistance? Check ✅ Tread life? Yeah, it’s not Michelin levels of durability that's for sure, but whether you’re track-daying on a broiling Saturday or hammering through sleet, these tires STAY CONSISTENT. They warm up quickly & never release grip under intense load—until the rubber’s smoked, anyway.
Bottom Line ▸ If you want track-ready wet mastery, these are it.Dry-focused drivers? Go for a dedicated summer tire. But If your heart races when it rains & you crave precision under pressure try 'em out, cause these are the only summer tires that’ll make you look back all those cloudy days & wonder— how you ever hated driving in the rain. 🚗🌧️

...The water traction was a highlight, as well as the aggressive dry traction...
These tires were a great experience. The water traction was a highlight, as well as the aggressive dry traction. Transitions felt agile, responsive, and really got the most out of my Zs suspension. I would say the only caveats are that at the limit, its a little snappy in the dry, so if youre going to autocross or track it, you have to be quick to catch it. Its not as progressive as lets say, a Firehawk Indy 500, but it has far higher limits. It was a dependable daily driver summer tire, and I'd buy them again for sure.

Use these on my daily driver which makes about 50 laps/yr at MSR Houston showing people the track. They perform very well in rain which the Michelin PSC2 did not. Price and availability are good.

...Overall grip is excellent, I can't ask for better...
Excellent for my daily, which gets one track day a year. My current set has been to Lime Rock and Sebring as well as a year of daily use, and the tread is still usable. Probably another 5k miles before they need replacing. Overall grip is excellent, I can't ask for much better. Wouldn't recommend using anywhere below 50 degrees F. They work well in light to medium rain and struggle with heavy downpours.

...Tread wear aside, these are subjectively the best handling tires in the segment... I run a shop and have a wide experience with all sorts of makes and these tires continuously impressed me with the steering response as well as lateral grip...
Steering response in comparison to the pilot sport 4S was a lot more responsive. Tread wear on the other hand was about half as expected. I measured my tires to be 2/32nd’s after 8.6k miles. Yes, these are performance summer tires so tread wear is not the top of the priority list for me, however the pilot sports lasted me almost 3x as long. Tread wear aside, these are the subjectively the best handling tires in the segment. I run a shop and have a wide experience with all sorts of makes and these tires continuously impressed me with the steering response as well as lateral grip. To put it simply, if you are looking for a decent 300TW tire that will last but still have great performance, go with the Michelins. If you are looking for the best overall performance and the best steering response, there is no question that these tires are a great fit.
Side note: the sidewall on these Bridgestones look absolutely incredible, if that’s important to anyone like it is to me

These tires seem to allow me to push the car harder through turns and take advantage of the setup...
These Bridgestones replaced the Pirelli Summer Tires on my ABT Tuned Q5e. Vehicle has the CETE suspension controller so sits lower and will corner better. These tires seem to allow me to push the car harder through turn and take advantage of the setup. I don't really drive in the rain so cannot comment on wet performance. Very smooth with the exception of a very slight vibration at about 75 MPH in some situations, I believe this a characteristic of the summer tire stiffness on certain pavement types as the tires are always balanced properly. Also bought the slightly older date codes but came with 2022 codes so the tires were a year or so old which was a great deal at less than half price.

Overall a very good maximum performance summer tire. similar to my Continental Extreme Contact Sports and Michelin Pilot Sports I've had on many cars. they are a heavy tire. my 235/50/18 weighed on a scale at 26 lbs. surprisingly quiet on highway and in city driving for a performance tire. Also, surprised with comfort over bumps and expansion joints. honestly, they feel better on rough roads than the OEM Bridgestone Turanza EL440 215/55/18 touring tires that came stock on my CX30 turbo. and, of course, they improving handling quite a bit. you will pay a mileage penalty running these. I mounted them on stock rims. my average mpg with the OEM Turanzas was 29-30 mpg. now its around 27-28. I am only running these in summer for about 6 months, so the small mileage penalty is not a concern. the increased handling, braking, cornering and wet performance over the OEM tires is worth the trade off. I would recommend these- especially if on clearance- like I got them. All things considered if the Continental, Michelin and these were same price- I would probably get the Continentals, but I'm pleased with these so far.

...Performance, comfort, and driving in the wet is great!...
These tires are amazing! Performance, comfort, and driving in the wet is great! I live in south florida and we get some pretty bad storms. These tires keep my vehicle straight. I had Falken RT615K and they are good on dry road and that’s about it. I also do some auto cross and these tires hooked so well, it showed all the flaws in my suspension. I’ve always been a huge fan of Bridgestone and there’s a reason why. Highly recommend these tires.

...Once you get used to the sidewall wiggle, you can accurately predict them. The softer sidewalls makes for a more comfortable ride.
Bought these to replace a set of discontinued Sumitomo HTRZII front tires. At the time, the price was impossible to beat and the reviews looked good. I have not been disappointed in either. They hold nearly as well on the track and on street/highway, they behave like top level passenger tires. They work great up to the moment when they are punished severely, then give out progressively. Don't expect them to be a track tire, but work fine as a track day tire that you can drive to the track or anywhere else. Once you get used to the sidewall wiggle, you can accurately predict them. The softer sidewalls makes for a more comfortable ride.

Tires have excellent all-around performance and are quiet and comfortable. However, the fronts are at the wear markers just before 10,000 miles. The rears are about halfway there.
In fairness, they should have been rotated at 5,000 mile intervals and they’ve been put through several spirited mountain drives.
I would’ve gone with Pilot Sport 4s tires originally but these were a great deal with the rebate at the time so I gave them a shot. Definitely recommend them in terms of performance but expected them to last longer
