The Turanza EL400-02 and Turanza EL400 w/UNI-T are Bridgestone's Standard Touring All-Season tires developed to meet the Original Equipment and replacement tire needs of drivers for their sporty coupes, sedans and vans. Turanza EL400 tires are designed to provide a luxury appearance, long wear and responsive handling along with dry, wet and year-round traction, even in light snow.
Bridgestone's Ultimate Network of Intelligent Tire Technology (UNI-T) features three core elements: CO'CS, a Computer Optimized Component System which allows design and manufacturing processes to work more cooperatively, leading to a more effective tire that doesn't significantly sacrifice one area of performance for improvements in another; O-Bead, a rounder bead structure that minimizes overlapped joints in the bead area for improved ride; and L.L. Carbon (Long Link Carbon) which helps the rubber compound resist microscopic tread tearing related to wear.
On the outside, Turanza EL400 tires features their tread rubber compound molded into a symmetric tread design with straight circumferential grooves to balance dry and wet road traction with noise comfort and hydroplaning resistance. On the inside, the Turanza EL400 features twin steel belts for strength and stability with a polyester cord body to enhance ride comfort.
*Specific sizes featuring UNI-T technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Why Gamble With Winter Tire Selection When Four of a Kind Always Beats Two Pair?(01:56)
Some drivers still doubt the industry's requirement for equipping front-wheel drive vehicles with matching winter tires all the way around. To address those doubts and demonstrate what can happen when mixed tires reach their limits on hard-packed snow and ice, we did some tests at our local skating rink.
Ratings show mixed results for this all-season touring tire. Dry traction receives positive feedback, with many scores in the 7-8 range, though some report inconsistent grip. Treadwear raises notable concerns, with frequent 0-3 scores suggesting premature wear. Comfort also underperforms, with noise and ride harshness frequently criticized. Winter traction struggles in snow and ice, with many ratings below 5. Wet traction shows variability, with hydroplaning resistance often scoring 4-6. While the tire handles basic dry conditions adequately, its weaknesses in durability, comfort, and seasonal versatility make it less compelling for drivers prioritizing year-round reliability in a touring all-season tire.

...Very happy with the tires, handled and braked well in the rain or under dry conditions...
These tires were original equipment on the Mazda. Very happy with the tires, handled and braked well in the rain or under dry conditions. Doesn't snow much where I drive, but what little there was not a problem if driven appropriately for the conditions. Only downside is that they were a bit loud on the highway. These tires lasted longer than I expected.

These are a review of the tires that came with the car, most likely the original tires. A very light driver, only put about 500-2000 miles on the tires each year. Not garaged, mostly in moderately hot and moderately dry climates. They drove well in dry conditions, were fine in wet, hydroplaned a bit once or twice, on thick snow they drove right over smoothly, and on thick ice they only slid on a decline.
Had them for 13 years, they starting to lose structural integrity at about the 12th year, which looked like dry rot, but was more likely just the rubber breaking down, as the cracking was consistent and all over the entire upper edge of the sidewall. Once the cracks looked a little too large in the 13th year, I replaced it, perhaps could have lasted up to a few years longer, but did not want to play with a catastrophic failure event.
If I needed a tire that would last 50-70k miles I would probably get it again, but with my light usage, it is too much tire to pay the mid-range tire price.

Many customers report mediocre wet traction, with scores between 0-6 highlighting hydroplaning concerns and slippery handling. Some note tires feel floaty on wet roads, indicating unacceptable performance for an all-season touring tire.

Scary dangerous in wet and icy conditions! In a recent rain with cold but not icy temperatures, my car spun out on a highway entrance, turning about 190 degrees and smashing into a curb which blew out the front tire. I am now convinced that the fault wasn't mine but rather the Turanda tires for hydroplaning (notwithstanding a lot of remaining treadwear on them). Other drivers rounding the same bend at around the same speed had no problems. After unfortunately replacing the blown out tire with the same matching model, I have now decided to replace all four Turandas, despite one of them being new and the other ones having a lot of life left. It's not worth the risk to life, limb and property. Do not buy this tire. Heck, unless I lived in the Sahara, I wouldn't even accept them as a gift.

Winter traction receives concerning scores (0-5 dominate), with customers reporting slippery in snow, getting stuck, and lack of ice grip. While some rate 7-9, performance is unacceptable for an all-season tire's intended winter use.

...Snow? Yikes! Ice? Stay home!... I have run these over Wolf Creek Pass in snow. It wasn't treacherous, but I am very glad CDOT had maintained the road with deicing agent, and the slow lane was well traveled, keeping the ice & snow out of the contact areas. Anything abrupt would have killed us!...
JUNK! Absolute garbage and an abysmal OEM tire, that is worn out at 30,000 miles, and I am not sad to see these tires go! These are the worst tires I have had as OEM equipment since we stripped some Uniroyal tires off a 1960s pickup truck. The tires are noisy, and you feel every pebble in the asphalt. Dry traction is below average. Wet traction is barely adequate. Snow? Yikes! Ice? Stay home! Bridgestone won't even warranty this garbage tire for any mileage figure. It wasn't treacherous, but I am very glad CDOT had maintained the road with deicing agent, and the slow lane was well traveled, keeping the ice & snow out of the contact areas. Anything abrupt would have killed us! These tires flat out ----! A piece of PLASTIC PUNCTURED ONE OF THE TIRES! Wow, plastic can go right through the tread! What utter trash! Nissan should be ashamed to use this rubber rubbish as an OEM tire on a new car. Tread wear ----s too! Granted a Nissan Sentra is not the best riding car of all time, and it could possibly be the worst, but I have driven the same exact car with the OEM Continental Tire tires, and it was markedly better to ride in than a car equipped this Bridgestone garbage.

I'm surprised by the low reviews of this tire. I haven't found them so bad, but they are marginal in snow. Perhaps my dry and wet performance is improved by having an AWD vehicle. I found the wet traction and resistance to hydroplaning to be excellent. The noise level wasn't too bad either. I am replacing these tires at 46,000 miles with about 4/64ths of tread left, which is probably the most miles I've ever obtained from a set of tires.
I am moving on to something else though, and that's because I'm looking to improve the snow performance. Other than that I though they were fine, and I was very happy with the low even wear of the tires.

The Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02 shows mixed comfort results, with a concerning number of low scores (0-5) for harsh ride and unbearable road noise. While some rate it 9-10, dissatisfied customers highlight jarring bumps, loud cabin intrusion, and poor ride quality.

These tires came on my 2014 Camry SE and I have been disappointed with the rough ride and noise level of these tires since day one. At first I thought it may be due to the car being an SE or because I lived in Michigan and how bad the roads were. I had owed a 97 Camry prior to this one and remember how smooth and quiet it was. I’ve been needing replacements for about 2 years now but since I retired and moved to TN I don’t drive much and have put off replacing due to fear I could end up getting something as bad or worse than these. I am doing a lot of research and learning all I can about tires before I replace these. I would not recommend these tires. And would be skeptical of this brand now.

...They have been very noisy especially when turning since at least 20,000 miles...
These tires came standard on my 2017 Toyota Camry when bought new several years ago. At only 47,000 miles, they are in need of replacement. They have been very noisy especially when turning since at least 20,000 miles. Poor traction in wet weather, and you can forget about snow. Dealer said to replace at the 40,000 mile service as the treadwear was so low. Based on other reviews, it's definitely not just me with these problems. I take good care of my vehicle and tires, getting service done with rotations every 5k miles. I will be replacing these for better tires soon. Avoid at all costs!

...They are the absolute loudest most rough uncomfortable tires ive ever had on a car. I drove a friends camry just like mine with continental procontacts and wow what a difference. The cabin and ride was so much smoother...
Probably the worst tires ever after owning 9 cars. This is my third vehicle with OEM Bridgestone tires and once again, the worst tires ive ever had. My 2016 Camry has 10,000 miles on it and the tread is already poor, traction is Ok but really nothing great. They're so loud, hearing someone on the Bluetooth phone is a constant struggle from ambient noise. They are the absolute loudest most rough uncomfortable tires ive ever had on a car. I drove a friends camry just like mine with continental procontacts and wow what a difference. The cabin and ride was so much smoother. Tonight, while driving about 45 MPH down a smoothly paved road, I had a blow out in the Camry with the Bridgestone tires. No nail, no rocks, just a sizeable gash and split in the tire. I understand these things happen but the noise alone is beyond unacceptable for how expensive these tires are. I'll be buying continentals for the car tomorrow.

...However being very retentive with my tires: always rotating at about 5000 miles, weekly pressure checks with an accurate gauge, regardless these tires are nearly bald at 20,000 mikes. They are also somewhat pricey, unfortunately Lexus only equipped higher optioned ES350 models with the excellent Michelin MXV4's... Additionally they only have a manufacturer treadwear rating of 260, these are essentially overpriced disposable tires.
These tires came with my ES350 from the factory and are likely the worst tires I have owned in many years of driving. The Bridgestone EL400-02's do provide a quiet comfortable ride in dry conditions. Terrible tread life. These tires came stock on my 2016 Camry. Rotated them every 6,000 miles religiously with my oil changes. Today I am replacing them. I was really hoping to get 40k out of them but noticed today that I have belts showing on 2 of them at under 39k. For the price that these tires cost there should be much better tread life to them. They are bad in any winter conditions and not even on my scale of good for wet and dry. You would think that with a soft rubber that wears out so fast there would be some sort of perk. The only thing that I can say I was happy with was that they wore evenly. This however will be my last set of bridgestones. Having bought 11 sets of tires over the past 10 years for my family and I. I highly recommend many of general or hankook tires. They are affordable handle great in the winter and come the closest to their tread warrenties.
