Bridgestone Turanza EL440 Reviews

Customer ratings show the Bridgestone Turanza EL440 delivers excellent dry traction (frequent 9-10 scores) and responsive handling, paired with strong wet performance (7-10 range) including reliable hydroplaning resistance. Comfort receives consistent praise for smooth ride quality and low noise. However, treadwear scores vary widely (0-10 range), with many reporting premature wear concerns. Winter traction shows mixed results (0-8 scores), with some drivers noting limited confidence in icy or deep snow conditions. As a Grand Touring All-Season tire, it excels in everyday dry and wet driving comfort but may disappoint those prioritizing long-term durability or severe winter capability.

...I just hit 59,000 miles and the tread is about 3/32 and they still handle well in dry and wet weather...

These tires came stock on my 21 Mazda CX-30 Turbo. Overall, it’s not a bad stock tire. I live in Florida so I typically drive in dry conditions with torrential downpours in the summer. My car has not once hydroplaned with these tires and traction control did not need to activate. I just hit 59,000 miles and the tread is about 3/32 and they still handle well in dry and wet weather. They just started to squeal when punching the gas from a standstill. I rotated the tires about every 7,500 miles and all 4 tires have worn evenly. I have not balanced them or have done an alignment on my car either. They definitely aren’t the quietest tire out there but to be expected out of a stock tire. These have done very well and I just purchased a close out deal for just over $400 for the whole set, which is a steal for these. I’m not sure why these get so much hate, but for my vehicle, they do good all around.

...They are a bit loud on the highway, and the comfort is much stiffer so you feel more of the road (whether that is good for you or not is up to you)

Great tire if you want something to support a little bit more “spirited” driving. If these fit on your car, they are a great all around choice. They are a bit loud on the highway, and the comfort is much stiffer so you feel more of the road (whether that is good for you or not is up to you)

Excellent tire, initially. Initial ride was excellent and quiet. At about 6months and 5,000 miles these qualities fell to good. But still very happy with this tire and would not hesitate to buy again.

...Dont even get me started on snow traction...there is none. Just buy something else unless you never see snow.

This tire is as expensive or more expensive than its competition. Yet its performance is far below par. This was the OEM tire from mazda, and is a big miss. In the dry the tire is great. Lots of grip, comfortable, and quiet. And lasting 52k+ miles with my driving style is good enough for me. But this tire has zero wet traction, which is fun when you want to drift around a little, but worrying when you want to feel safe. Dont even get me started on snow traction...there is none. Just buy something else unless you never see snow.

These tires are TERRIBLE in snow! Seriously, even with AWD I had a hard time getting anywhere on mostly flat, Ohio roads.

These tires are decent in dry conditions on the curvy, 2-lane roads I mostly drive, and handle well on the highway. I ran them on a high performance driving class at Mid Ohio and they handled predictably well, obviously not track tires.
They're "okay" in the rain, when they lost traction on curves it was smooth and predictable (with an AWD car) and recovered easily by modulating the throttle.

Treadwear receives mixed scores (0-4 and 7-10), but numerous reports of rapid wear and early replacement. Disappointed customers note premature tread loss, raising concerns for a Grand Touring tire's expected durability.

The treadwear is DEPLORABLE. I got the car new 9 mos. ago & it was evident by 7k mi. & knew it’d be a winter problem by 12k mi. I got 2mm left on the rears & 3mm up front. It was superb on wet corners b4 that, still good I can handle it oversteering. Didn’t hydroplane a few times I thought it would recently. They hop on wet take-offs but still brake hard excellently when I have to occasionally, & I dont drive anywhere near hard as I did back in the day. The horrible city pavement & 800 speedbumps every shift are probably the greatest factor, but I didn’t have this problem on the same job w/ a 2019 Civic Sport 6 spd. These tires are still great on the highway, but I definitely gotta get new ones for a New England Winter.
