The ContiProContact is Continental's Grand Touring All-Season tire originally developed for European sport coupes and sedans sold in North America, and is now available for a wide range of imported and domestic cars. The ContiProContact is designed to blend good looks and handling with low noise and a smooth ride while providing all-season versatility and year-round traction, even in light snow.

The ContiProContact features an all-season tread compound molded into a symmetric, notched-rib tread design that provides continuous tread contact with the road to enhance steering response and handling while its wide circumferential grooves promote hydroplaning resistance and wet traction. Continental's PROactive Edge Technology places at least 800 arched edges in each ContiProContact tire's tread design to bring more active edges into the contact patch to promote stormy-weather traction while allowing the pattern elements to transfer smoothly from edge to edge to minimize on-road noise. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to stabilize the tread area promoting uniformity and high-speed durability.

*Specific sizes featuring low rolling resistance technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Continental ContiProContact Reviews

Customer ratings show the Continental ContiProContact delivers a comfortable ride with smooth handling, aligning well with its Grand Touring All-Season purpose. Treadwear receives mixed feedback, with some noting premature wear despite moderate mileage expectations. Winter traction is a concern, with inconsistent scores (3-7) in snow and ice, suggesting limited confidence in harsh conditions. Wet traction is generally reliable (scores 6-8), though hydroplaning resistance varies. Dry traction stands out as a strength, earning consistent praise (7-10) for confident grip and responsive steering. While ideal for everyday comfort and dry-road performance, buyers prioritizing winter capability or long-term durability may want to weigh these trade-offs.

...They are holding up well and provide excellent wet/dry traction...

Great tires. They are holding up well and provide excellent wet/dry traction. They are also quiet . I would recommend this tire . I also love buying from TireRack.com. I get to browse several different brands of tires and compare them . I thorougjly read the track testing comments when making a decision.

...Traction on dry pavement is good...

So far these tires are performing good. Traction on dry pavement is good, I was caught in a thunderstorm and roads were flooded with water. Care did not hydroplane even when going through some low spots in the road that had enough water to hydroplane. Ride is smooth and car handles very well on these tires. I will let you all know how they perform in the snow in another 6 months.

...In dry weather the tires are awesome, Great Grip, Cornering, & Handling...

I bought my 15 Verano used with 7,000 miles. I am more of a conservative driver on the highway. But when I'm on the back county hwy in Northwestern Wisconsin I sometimes get spirited. In dry weather the tires are awesome, Great Grip, Cornering, & Handling. On a my only negative mention I feel every road separation in my seat as the tire rolls over. On the open road the Verano drives smooth and quiet. Great tracking !! I really enjoy driving my Verano. In Wet roads and Snow I tend to be very cautious. I find myself aware the tires might not grip. Snow Traction, not so good. I am more cautious with this tire than any other tire I have ever driven on in poor road conditions. I have a few side wall cuts from pot holes. This has never happened to me in 45 years of driving. Perhaps it the Low Profile Tire. I have 4/32 left and coming into November I will replace them do to living in Northwestern Wisconsin. I will not replace with this tire. I will look at other Continental Tires in my decision to replace. If it were May or June I would push it. But with Winter coming on, No Way. I did not live this long being stupid.

I bought these tires on the fact they were rated highly for comfort and noise, plus I wanted a tire that would cosmetically look good on my black 2018 Impala. I've put around 40k miles on the tires and will definitely be buying them again as I plan on keeping my car

This is the factory tire for my 2016 Chevy Trax. From new the tires horrible in winter. My vehicle has zero grip from a dead stop in snow or slush. I also would like to note the wear is not very good at 35k I have 4/32 tread left. I rotated and balanced tires every 8k. I would not recommend this tire ever.

...You feel like you're driving on ice in the wet. The turn in on these "ContiProContact" is an unpredictable mess...

Staggered Setup:
245/40 R18 MO.
265/35 R18

Prior owner installed brand new MO ver. set on the front. The rear were worn due to irregular wear. I upgraded to "DWS06 Plus" on the rear, 265/35 R18; ContiProContact on the front, 245/40 R18. I do a lot of driving of varying cars, I can tell you with 100% certainty these tires are outdated in design and structure. Very sensitive to tire pressure and heat. Wet handling is a major weakness.

In the Wet these are the scariest tires I've ever owned and they still have 80% tread remaining with even wear. I've driven on cheaper tires that out perform these. 45mph in the wet is what you get for safety. I've run lesser tires at double speeds in the wet without issue.

The good
Aquaplaning resistance, Ride comfort, Ride noise, Dry braking, Tread wear

The bad
Dry handling, Wet handling, Wet braking, Understeer (plowing), Side Wall, Heat (gummy), Tire pressure sensitive

Subjective handling is where this tire suffers the most. You feel like you're driving on ice in the wet. The turn in on these "ContiProContact" is an unpredictable mess. Based on current road speeds, these tires are not sufficient and don't inspire confidence.

Recommenation
Do not buy these tires (ContiProContact MO)

Alternative Continental tires to consider;
"DWS06 Plus"
"Premium Contact 6"
"AllSeasonContact"
...all of which are cheaper and drastically out perform this tire in every metric (especially if you're driving a sport sedan/coupe specifically Mercedes-Benz)
